In answer to Marv Woo frustration re: no 'explanation' of what is used and why: here you go I understand your frustration. I, as a tradesman completely understood/understand the products and the steps without the 'words' Let me give you some insight. 1st. wash your car, 2nd, use a 'clay bar' to scour the paint, 3rd. use a 'polishing compound' with a power polisher. It looks like he's using 2 separate grits of polishing compound or one, the first one, as a polisher and the second time as a 'sealer' ( a 'sealer' is a separate product to fill in 'Micro scratching' left by the polishing compound). Then and only 'then' does he apply the 9H-Mr. Fix auto ceramic coating. Read....a lot of prep before the actual application of the 'ceramic coating' And there you go....the 'tradesman translation' or at least what 'I' see.
I would just add, IMO after claying I would wash again to remove any residue left by the lubricant, most wouldn't need to use a compound (1st pass) and just use a swirl remover (2nd pass, I would then use a "tack cloth" (decorators use these), this will remove all residues, very important to do this before ceramic coating and NEVER afterwards (as this will weaken the structure of the coating), then use sparingly, the ceramic coating, some need a little longer than others but as mentioned, watch for the rainbow haze (glancing sideways along the paint), then buff to a glass like finish. These ceramic coatings are pretty good if you're not an avid car "detailer" ie waxes etc I also use ceramic coatings on side windows NEVER windscreen, the wife uses it indoors on the shower screen, so it really is a versatile product for not only car but house as well, use it on your house windows and you'll not get those nasty waterspots for a long time.

Not my video but I will say ceramic coating will last about two years and properly protect your paint wax is simply a coverup for crap paint. When you use a product like this you need to make sure the paint finish is corrected. This means buffing and polishing the entire car then the car needs to be cleaned by hand w a wax and grease removing cleaner. Once the paint has been cleaned and polished then you can add this coating. This coating adds a layer on top of the clear coat where as wax fills in the existing scratches temporarily. Once paint is corrected apply the coating in a crisscross patteren evenly on the whole panel you can most the panel with water lightly to help spread the coating. Let this set up for about ten minutes longer if it’s cold and then lightly buff the panel with a microfiber if you doing an entire car simply start on one panel and work around the car until you come back to the original panel then use your microfiber. It is critical that the car is cleaned and washed between each step leading up the the wipe down with wax and grease cleaner

I don't mean to bust your balls buddy but was the surface wiped with a prep spray after polishing or was the polish like a primer polish that has Sio2 allowing you to go right to the ceramic coating? Only asking because ceramic coating will fail if there is any polishing oils left behind and missing that key point will have a lot of people wondering why the coating didn't last.

Mr fix isnt trash people just knock it cause if the price point it works good it's all about the prep on the end. I been detailing since I was 8 and I'm 30 I use cermaic pro I'm certified by ceramic pro and glass parency and will be by g technique when I finish my training but Mr fix is a good DIY product you can get a good year maybe two out of the coating if you properly maintain it.Get you a sio2 infused soap wash only with that and after you was get you ceramic booster if you search it you will see it they are even selling ceramic sprays at auto zone on store shelves now. Just make sure you wash with sio2 and spray the booster after at least every 3months unless u get a good booster than u can make 5 or 6 month

Hello ..something not right on video..since title is about testing 9 H coating...so u should wash full bonet...and also wax full bonet...then put tape...and lastly touch up with 9H coating..if u do like that..sure so big difference on ur bonet...
Most of the videos i watch uses a degreaser before applying the ceramic coat since polishing compound contains natural oil in them. So... can you do without the degreaser?
pol pol personality I always use an alcohol + water mixture! Basically, a ceramic coating is pretty much a layer of glass on top of you car for possibly upto 3 years there is no real “maintenance” after you apply it a good rinse is enough to clean your car after it has been coated, there is no polishing or waxing the ceramic coating that’s why a lot of people like it me person don’t use it on my own car because I love claying, , cutting, polishing, waxing etc... but this is why you do it before hand (just clay bar, cut, polish) no need for wax as the alcohol mixture with just remove it anyway... but basically if you have a hologram or water mark on your car or some kind of imperfection on you paint and then do your ceramic coating you’ll seal it all under the coating, the alcohol mixture removes holograms and stuff so you don’t need to worry about it after the coating goes on. Once it’s on its on!! It’ll take come very aggressive cutting to remove it and in some cases, sanding!!
You should have polished two squares and apply ceramic coating only to one of them. I suppose effect would be very similar. Polishing itself, gives you the same behaviour. I've tested this "coating" and I'm really sorry to say, that it seams it does not work.
The first pad was more aggressive with a compound to remove defects while smoothing/ leveling the paint. Buffer trails and a haze is left after this step. The second pad is a less aggressive polishing pad with a polish to remove the buffer trails a bring the paint to a high gloss shine. Usually a ipa or wax and grease remover is used to remove all oils from correction before adding a coating, sealant, or wax so that they will adhere better. But he skipped that step in the video.
The new paint requires time to 'breathe' the vapors out. You do not want to ceramic coat it immediately. It would be wise to do a light polish on the painted parts, IPA wipe down and then apply a ceramic coating.

@@juniorarroyo7120 you wouldn't you would use it to strip off any excess polish / compound left on before coating the paint with the ceramic. Otherwise it won't bond properly. Wax is not even in question.. It is totally different to ceramic coating.
had you machine polished the rest of the bonnet and then done a section of the bonnet it would have been a more informative test. As after a machine polish using certain types of compounds they contain a small amount of polish or ceramic nowadays and the water would have beaded off exactly the same way. Sorry vehicle refinisher speaking from experience.
Suppose to use damp applicator to apply ceramic product. Let set up aprox 10mins and wipe with clean dry microfiber towel. Let cure 2-3hours and no washing for 24- 48 hours.
It's not a glue residue. It is a polishing compound that managed to get under the tape. It would have disappeared if he wiped the surface after de-taping.
