    Himalaya was my dream destination all my life.
    But one day I came across one of your video, right then I said to myself 'Himalaya, here I come", it doesn't have to be only a dream.
    I researched for 1 month to see if I can spend my 72nd birthday on the top of the Mt. Everest Base Camp.
    Then for 4 months I started training at 24 fitness every other day for 2 to 3 hour sessions.
    Then I went to all day hike 4 to 5 consecutive days to see how I am holding out. I also hike up to 8000 to 9000 ft summits in So. California where there were little snow on near the top to see how I feel in cold environment which I never done before. I slipped a few times on slush snow since I had no clamp on shoes lol.
    Last April after 36 hrs of flight to Kathmandu from Los Angeles California, I went to Pokhara to training hike to the Annapurna base camp to see if my body can tolerate high altitudes, 6 days to the top of the Annapurna base camp and flew down with Helicopter to save my knee for Mt. EVEREST.
    It was a fantastic journey, one of my highest achievement and most exciting to spend my 72nd birthday right on the Mt. EVEREST BASE CAMP.
    Anything is possible when you set your heart into it with 100% attentiveness.
    Thank you Dean.
    My next trip will be concuring the roof of the Africa, Mt. Klillimanjaro in Sept. 2020. This too I thought I can't go there, it will not remain as my dream only in this life time.
    Here I come Tanzania!

      Simple..... Can I make travel arrangements INDEPENDENT of the trek.
      Eg I want to fly into Kathmandu one week BEFORE the trek and leave at my own leisure AFTER the trek. I understand aitfares are NOT included in the trek.
      thanks you john wilson

      Yes, absolutely! Many of our guests arrive earlier or depart later than the rest of the group. This video has much more information about that: th-cam.com/video/UfgOe2rYS6M/w-d-xo.html
      Thanks John!

      You can find our pricing information here: wwtrek.com/mt-everest-base-camp-nepal/
      We recommend buying all your gear long before you arrive in Kathmandu in order to wear it in, make sure everything fits, and have time to fix any issues before you're in Nepal.

      @leiacha2482 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had all my gears from USA but it was much inexpensive to get last min. things.
      Sleeping bag liner, Beanie, wind and rain jacket....
      I only hired porters for both base camp. There are tons of Comp. When you get there.
      It was fun to research all this b4 you go.

      At least he is telling much more than you old man. Start your own YT channel make your own videos (not about your dog) , get thousands of views than you come back to say something.

      It tells you exactly what it says, training for a trek with porters carrying most of your gear. I've done solo treks and yes, you need to train hard, but this is for people on a package tour. Stop being such a negative dick about it.

    • @billsmith6884
      @billsmith6884 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Wwtrek I think that you told your customers what they needed to know. You can always train harder, but you're not running a commando course. I trek solo and have done this trek a few times, your clients do not need to take the gear I do, that's why you have porters. There is always a Dennis out there ready to criticize.

    A lot of time and effort would be saved if people look at their own motivation : why does anyone want to do the EBC??? It’s almost as stupid and pointless as wanting to climb the mountain itself if all you are interested in is getting their and back. But if you take your time you can enjoy and be inspired by one of the great walks on our planet in an area which has witnessed the birth of holy scripture for the whole world

      Anyone who actually knows what they are talking about accepts the historical fact that much of our modern scientific reality was originated in the Upanishads which were devolved from the teachings of masters from the Himalayas : take the EBT and you’ll see that for yourself - idiot

    Funny... Needing to train for a walk. I have been there 5 times since eighties, last time I was there I was 64 years old with 2 artificial hips. I have never trained for it. Just go. If you need to train to walk 4 hours a day I feel sorry for you.

      People are different my friend. Can you squat 200kg? Probably not… would you need to train for it? Obviously. Stupid clown.
