    As far as games that I have quit (for now), I would say:
    Xenoblade Chronicles 2- I was trying to level up, but I would always get defeated by monsters who were more powerful.
    Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War - This game is on the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online via the Super Famicom app. While the turn-based strategy is manageable, the overall pacing is really slow. The dialog is also entirely in Japanese, which makes it difficult to understand the plot if you don't know much of the language.
    Shin Megami Tensei II - Another game that is avaliable on the Japanese NSO Super Famicom app, I quit this game not because of the language barrier, but because I got tired of getting my butt kicked over and over by the second demon boss guardian. None of the attacks I used seemed to work. I even tried level grinding... and still lost.
    Breath of Fire 1 and 2- Do you like JRPGs with ridiculously high enemy encounter rates? No? Neither do I.
    Earthbound Beginnings- Refer to Breath of Fire 1 and 2.
    The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The good news? There's so much to do. The bad news? There's so much to do. It's the kind of game where you have to pick it up, stop, plan ahead, and pick it up again after a long period of time. I think the game is great, but you have to know what you're doing to master combat against enemies, managing weapons when they break, and surviving the elements.
    And yes, I know that Tears of the Kingdom is harder.

      Wow, those are some excellent titles but some very valid reasons for calling it quits. You actually reminded me that I quit a Shin Megami Tensei game not too long ago. I've always been interested in Breath of Fire... but maybe not so much anymore haha. Awesome input, and great comment. Thanks for watching!

      @@TigerChainsawVideoGames Update: I just got back into Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and it's not as frustrating as I initially thought. I was just playing the game the wrong way by not carefully luring enemies and foolishly trying to take down monsters who were greatly overpowered.

    You son of a gun 😂😂😂
    Had me worried... lol all the feels! Your dang facial expression and your tone had me ready to cry with you lol but one game I love but had to quit/put down is Elden Ring. I'll come back to it because the story and beauty of the game.. but it pisses me off so much when I die and also I'm pretty loud when I'm playing it 😅
    @3:31 I can relate to that.. when my dog passed away I had a hard time finding any joy in eating, sleeping and even video games.
    @5:57 back tracking usually is always such a pain in games. Unless it somehow is a big part of the story (all comes full circle)
    @11:15 nah.. I'd pass too lol
    @14:15 I don't like games that do that because it doesn't make sense. What's the point then in leveling/upgrading etc?? Boss fights will just get tougher
    Nice to see these Tiger!

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames

      Elden Ring I have heard so much positive things about. I have it in my backlog but I need to be in the mood to play it because I know it's going to be a tough adventure.
      I was really depressed when my cat passed... that sucked so much. We had a ton of memories playing games together so I tried to play through the emotions but I just wasn't interested.
      Ah yes full circles... I think we did enough of those in Godfall searching for our destination LOL
      I don't mind level grinding if it gets me ahead of the enemies but when they grow too what's the point?!

    😂😂😂 Nice one you almost had me But I knew there would be a twist, 4:42 Big T1tt y Get me every time😂 You're right though big cannons is not enough if the game is just slow and boring, It seems to me you quit the games for the same reasons most do, Lack of motivation, Slow and boring, Complicated controls And I hate those games where you grind And grind and grind to level up and make it just that bit easier Just for your enemies to become tougher as you do, What's the point of Levelling up if it doesn't really help you? I used to have to beat every game I played, but back in the 00s when I did GameFly, I realized I was willing to try out a game, and then I'd feel stuck playing it through to the end. Eventually I trained myself to bail on any game I wasn't actively loving.
    Yeah, sometimes I forget game mechanics if I play another game, or don't play for a while, and then it can be hard to remember and pick up the game again.
    Shenmue is one I want to play, but I've just never gotten around to it. I get when you are in mourning that you might not be in the mood for certain things.
    Back tracking is definitely a game mechanic I'm glad to see fade into the past. It was soooo common in the 90s, and it was irritating-but-understandable back then.
    I'm always shocked how many games try to port to console when they have crazy involved PC controls.
    Maneater does look good... but yeah, I don't have much patience for grinding any more.
    11:11 oh, yeah replaying levels over and over to unlock future levels is hard. I like Monkeyball style games, but it's hard to wanna stick with them to perfect things.
    This is why I almost never play RPGs. I enjoy RPGs, but I just don't have 80 hours to sink into each game.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I still try and have that mindset about beating games that I start, but I've been better lately about just realizing if a game is worth my time or not. GameFly was super cool, I never had it but I know people in the community dug it. Shenmue is incredible... well the first one is. Yeah the Riftbreaker was soooo hard to play with just a controller. I needed a keyboard. Thanks for watching buddy, one game I could never quit is mount your friends ; )

    I got tired of doing the forklift crap in _Shenmue._ Also, the fights (while cool) were extremely difficult for me. 😅
    That _Octopath Traveler_ has a cool feel with the graphics! Love the look of the 2D sprites navigating 3D environments. Shame it sounds so difficult.
    Was expecting to see a super popular game make your quit list, but that didn’t seem to happen here. 😝
    As for me, I’m lucky if I _complete_ a game anymore. Gaming hours become so scarce that I tend to move quickly between games as new ones come out. 😅

First issue the use of a dual screen gimmick that gives you a huge gap of a blindspot in the middle, on a very action oriented game that is just bad choice. Another mechanic i hate is the respawn invincibility is so short tjat when you respawn you just die on the same spot that youre just trying to get out of just feels so cheap. Your list is fascinating in that you don't even technically dislike any of these games but you couldn't get yourself to beat them. Out of all the ones I finished, it would be Viewtiful Joe but I'm not sure if I can proudly say I beat that one since I used emulator save states like no tomorrow, the game is really hard without them since the game gives you limited continues and that is an instant way to piss me off. I like the combat and the game is pretty unique even to this day, so I wanted to get to the end. There is also a really nasty boss rush late game and VJ2 has the same problems.
    Riftbreaker was one game I actually bought but not sure if I want to play, I thought it was a twin stick shooter but the base building was light but to hear it's also an RTS game? Count me out.
    I Ninja is another one, I heard it was a hidden gem for a while and wanted to play but like so many platformers especially those that give you unlimited continues, you can't get through the game just by beating the levels, you also have to do the "side stuff" which pisses me off every time especially when the platformer isn't even exploration based. Why do these games do this? It's like playing Doom 1993 and you have to find secrets to progress through the level. I'm playing Astro Bot right now and that can be beat in 5-6 hours but the game extends it's length by forcing you to collect all the bots in a level. I feel like I would love platformers as love as shooters if they all just let get through the game by beating the levels and gave you unlimited continues, but it seems not all of them do it.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would definitely stay away from The Riftbreaker, it's a fairly hardcore RTS. I also hate when platformers have collectathons or side quests that don't bring any value to the game. Great point with Doom haha. Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment.

      I don't mind collecthathons if the game makes it clear from the start that you should collect to progress all though I still would like to have gameplay benefits to collecting instead of locking off level progression.
      When stage be stage linear platformers do it, I'm like, "why, I just want to focus on surviving and getting to the end of a stage". No game pissed me off with this as much as Grapple Dog, that game was challenging but you also need to collect things to unlock more levels in the story path and I'm like, "I'm out".

    Man Eater looked like a game that would fizzle out for me quick lol. for me I'm nearing quitting Trek to Yomi. Presentation is great but combat is just kinda dull lol

      Oh no, I just added Trek to Yomi in my collection haha. ManEater had a cool concept, just the gameplay got boring after awhile. Thanks for watching buddy!

    I quit Soldier of Fortune on the PS3 because I didn't like it's game mechanics. I quit Ace Combat 7 on the PS4 because it's not like a flight simulator. And I quit Watchdogs: Legion because it was just boring and the story just wasn't interesting.

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames

      WatchDogs: Legion was one I thought looked boring too... I haven't played it but I'll have to stay away from it with your input. Thanks for watching!

    You know, I usually skip videos utilizing obvious click bait, so you're lucky you're as cute as you are...
    Sorry VJ wasn't doing it for you. The original Shenmue lost me when I made it to the "work" part of the game; like, nope, I literally do that crap IRL, so no thanks. Sense is one I was tempted on for the same reasons as you, but seems I gave it a good miss; same with Carrier as I've long been curious about it.
    Maneater was one I started, got distracted and just never returned to, so it clearly didn't have me in its...jaws... Sorry to hear about i-Ninja though but I 100% get where you're coming from. And nearly the same on OP--I put in close to 60 hours and just couldn't anymore, and I was so, so, SO looking forward to that game as every bit of it seemed like a return to form for my younger days of gaming...

    • @TigerChainsawVideoGames
      @TigerChainsawVideoGames  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I figured I can do a click bait video once every three years haha! LOL I can picture you getting annoyed with Shenmue and having to work. Sense is... well... I love the cover but skip it. Carrier is super cool I just couldn't deal with the backtracking. I'm glad you understand the I-Ninja issue! UGH you gave up on Octopath traveller too?? Thanks for watching buddy.

    For me its all those PS story driven action adventure games. Not to say they are bad games, but i feel they are just shoving to much story in my face. Like im watching a movie, im here to play a game not watch a movie lol. Thats why i like games like elden ring, just playing the game you get only little bits of the story. Its not forced on you. If you want to discover more, you can choose to do so yourself either a little bit or you can do a full dive. Its kind of funny, because for some thats why they dont like souls games lol. They have no idea whats going on. But for me i have no idea whats going on in story driven games because i always skip cutscenes then complain i dont know whats going on later.
