As a Christian country they always take oaths with their religious book, the bible, it is called the Bible oath, as she was a Hindu, not a Christian and did follow the bible but another religious book,she was permitted to take the oath with her religious book, but India is a secular country and we have been ordered to take oath with the constitution and no other book.
