What Helps Us to Transform - teaching by Mingyur Rinpoche

  • In this video, Mingyur Rinpoche shares how we can find liberation by transforming the concepts that shape our perceptions of ourselves and our world. Through practice and study, we can transform our subtle assumptions into a clear understanding of the true nature of things - from mistaken concepts to accurate concepts to eventually going beyond concepts altogether.
    This video is an excerpt from the newly relaunched Vajrayana Online course on the Three Yanas, or three vehicles - the three stages of practice in the Buddhist path of awakening as traditionally taught in Tibet. learning.tergar.org/three-yanas
    Mingyur Rinpoche's teaching schedule is available at tergar.org/schedule.

      @@richardcarew4708 I usually don't make comments such as these, but I know this state you are referring to as I've been there. The best advice I received was this: "If you feel in your heart to give a gift, whatever that gift may be, and it brings you joy to share that gift then you must do it. What people choose to do with that gift, however, is none of your business. If it is in your heart to share, share. The message will reach who it is supposed to whether you see it or not. You are not sharing to get something back, you are sharing because it speaks to you, it is an offering you are driven to make. So the result doesn't matter."

I have found the practice of coming back to my breath very helpful during stressful times. My mind wanders around, and I don't make skillful choices when I'm not present/calm. My negative emotions can mess up my mental formations before I realize it. I can make choices that lead to ill-being trying to control the future, being selfish, etc. by being thoughtless.

    So i was just wondering if it is possible to set goals and still sharpen our view of the world and the nature of our mind as they really are.

    @Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche I seem to feel a lot anger and disappointment towards my parents because they took advantage of my love towards them and used me. I try to become friends with these emotions when I meditate, feel acceptance, forgiveness and gratefulness, but it always ends up in a heart breaking experience. The result is, me feeling worst after my meditation than before. What am I doing wrong??? Note that when I block any thoughts about them, meditation makes me feel blissful and happy... I know deep inside me, that I have to deal with these toxic useless feelings, so I don't want to hide them under the carpet when I meditate, I just can't find a way to make it work :(

    • @MrKwangfu
      @MrKwangfu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i believe what you are doing now is great! and I believe what you feel right now is normal too! when we giving unconditional love toward people and they didn't react the same way, first we have disappointment, then maybe we felt unfair, then we might be confuse at why they do this to us, then we felt angry and sad and all this might turn into hatred or just heartbreaking. These are not the worst emotion is just the right emotion we get with all the ingredients above.
      I think when we give something, we just don't expect something back from them because is our decision to be nice to them and whatever the outcome we learn to accept it. whatever feeling we experience during meditation just let it flow.
      I hope I didnt offended you and hope you find something useful in here. everything will be fine =D

      that's because of impermanence, interdependency and multiplicity!

      @@karthidrive55 Karthi, first I suggest you to seek for teachings on impermanence, interdependence and wisdom from great professors like Mingyur Rinpoche and His Holiness Dalai Lama. With my comment I was just trying to say that because all things are moving, including ourselves, our mind, etc, everytime we watch a video we are already different, so our perceptions surely will be different, like you described. It's like this quote by Heraclitus, an ancient greek philosopher: "No man ever steps in the same river twice."

      @@GabrielGuebo Thank you for this response! It was a great intro to these concepts for someone who is entirely new to Buddhism, like myself! Now I have a jumping-off point to begin learning. some more of the concepts of Buddhism. Again, thank you! :)

    Thank you Rinpoche that was very nicely teached but i say that love is the transformer,the power,force that transforms everything. Doesnt matter if it is question of transforming one human or whole universes. Meditation is a tool,mantras were perhaps tools for not so long ago but nowadays only tool that works, that allows anyone to reach highest possible evolutional stages is Divine Pineal Gland Activation by Caeayaron through Suzanna Maria Emmanuel. That activation returns your ancient codes of life back and that allows your evolution to continue on a higher planes. No other way anymore but of course not everybody desires highest way of evolution.
