  • Do you wonder how to harness the power of the imagination in your spiritual life? In the Vajrayana Buddhist path, it is said that our true nature is fundamentally pure, and the path is a process of recognizing this truth. During this webinar, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce practices of the imagination that can help us unlock our fundamental goodness.
    To learn more about the tradition this practice comes from, you can check out The Heart of Tantra transmission retreats and courses at tergar.org/the-heart-of-tantra/

      @@lambylambcurlyI know what it feels like, feeling anxiety when there’s no reason and overthinking, and how it takes your life away from you, but let me tell you- the more you go into this spiral, more it will be difficult for you. Just ask yourself this question- does you worrying or having fear for any reason help you or your family or your children in any way? Definitely, the answer is no. Then why to waste and invest your time in such things? Why not instead invest your beautiful time in your family or your kids? Remember, it does not matter how many doctors or monks you go to-only YOU can help yourself, no one else can do it for you. Just leave it to the higher energy and BREATHE. I know what I said might sound cliche, but trust me- that’s the only solution.

    Is this a practice that can be used by strict monotheists?

    • @karanvasudeva5424

      @@MagicRabbitTarot Which of the Buddha's teachings would conflict with belief in a single God? Early Buddhism was definitely a non-theistic practice. It has turned into a religion in its own right in Buddhist-majority countries but that doesn't mean that individuals have to see it that way, or in particular anything that clashes with their existing monotheistic beliefs. You can see refuge in the Triple Gem as a religious initiation, or as an affirmation that you're going to be sincere in your engagement with the practice and the community.

    • @phoenixj1299
      @phoenixj1299 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MagicRabbitTarot Buddhism is not necessarily a religion. It's a spiritual tradition. So one can't equate monotheistic religion with a spiritual tradition like Buddhism. Buddhism is a Dharma, sanatan dharma. Not a religion.

    • @cinichol
      @cinichol 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Buddhism doesn't pronounce on God one way or the other. There is tremendous focus on compassion, on the world as fluid and ceaselessly changing, and on our true nature as something good and pure like light. But it's nontheistic; it doesn't claim that there is or isn't a God. If Buddhist teachings align with your sense of God, that should be perfectly fine, as I understand it. All of my Buddhist training has encouraged independent thinking and experiencing things for ourselves.

    • @cindynichols27
      @cindynichols27 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MagicRabbitTarot Ok, sure, but there are historically and culturally many notions of what God is. I know people who would say that God is something very like Buddha nature, or an infinite openness, maybe an unending flow of energy and change, or a purity and goodness innate to all of us, or Mind itself. Dominant Christian notions of God aren't the only ones out there. People with all kinds of out-of-the-mainstream views conceive a God that is beyond time and concepts--including the concept of a Creator. I know Quakers who simply regard God as light.
      The Buddha apparently used language and ideas suited to many different audiences and orientations, and no doubt he engaged and even rejected certain notions of "God" specific to his time. But that doesn't mean Buddhism necessarily clashes with any and every belief in "God."

    • @phoenixj1299
      @phoenixj1299 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@MagicRabbitTarot You are right. But with small correction. Buddha said there is no other physical creation other than consciousness or citta. There are no right word to describe citta in English. One can loosely consider it as consciousness but still its not a perfect synonym. No dharmic traditions have God. They have Citta which is indescribable. People refer to it as shunya, Ananda and so on. There are no God but there are devatas which is different from God.
