I’m seventy-two years old and have been doing this routine 6 times a week for the past 5 weeks to offset the loss of muscle mass due to hormone therapy for prostate cancer. Started barely able to plank for 30 seconds and now more or less breeze through the 2 minutes. Started with 14.4 pound dumbbells, moved up to 16.5, and today did the routine with 19 pound dumbbells. THANKS, CAROLINE! Update, 07/29/2024: Still following Caroline’s routine with 19 pound dumbbells. Just finished 28 sessions of radiation, which was a bear, but I’m still standing. Hoping to add a little more weight to the dumbbells soon and settle into a 4 times a week routine! Update, 10/30/2024: Still following Caroline’s routine... now using 24 pound dumbbells 3 or 4 times a week! Just had my blood test and PSA registered at zero, which means at least for now, the prostate cancer is asleep and/or dying, with the help of hormone therapy. Wish me luck!
this is the reason why I like her workout too! Good music, not too upbeat (anyway we are doing dumbell, no need to rush anything!) Its the fastest 30min of my life!
Which also makes it available to any language and those who are hearing impaired! I've had classes I wanted to take which were in another language where language became a barrier. This avoids that.
I just found this video and did 20 mins of it and had to stop. I am 60 years old and have been working out on my own, but this just confirmed that I need more exercises like this. Love how you don't say a word like others who talk to much, to fast or to slow. I am now a subscriber, thank you.
I’m neurodivergent and want to thank you for making these so calm, clear, simple, and quiet. The picture-in-picture where you show the upcoming set, and the way you silently demo the form from clear angles that are easy to mirror…that makes such a huge difference for me! I love that these videos don’t have intense music, and that you’re not coaching us to power through. That actually takes me out of the workout and demotivates me because I’m trying to kind of go to this mental place where my exertion feels like meditation. If someone is reminding me that it’s hard labor and there’s x amount of reps left, I can’t do that. Your physical set up is very well lit, it feels serene, and even though you’re in peak condition I was actually more struck by the relatable adjustments and facial expressions you made. It made me feel like we were on the same human team instead of me feeling like an old blob who just will never be a natural jock. Your small intro at the beginning where you said we could make the workout our own also takes the anxiety and pressure off, I didn’t feel like there was potential for failure, just an opportunity to grow and maybe learn what works for me. I made it all the way through, with a long intermission after all the lunges just to cool down and center myself. My legs were quaking and felt like jello, but I’m proud I could do it! I did have a few less reps on the lunges because I was approaching collapse which is what’s important anyway. I love upper body and am upgrading to heavier weights next time for that.
Oh my god, maybe that's why I'm in love with these workouts and feel like i can do loads! I even sing and smile while rest timer is on, never with the other workouts where they just "keep going" etc., I never thought from this perspective, only after reading your comment. I have adhd, so as well neurodivergent ❤
She does everything right- no yelling, audible and visual countdown cues so you can focus on the exercise and not the tv/computer every second. Gorgeous graphics. And her fitness is inspiring! Music is ok but since it’s all perfectly done I suppose you could listen to other music and still do it all with the visual cues if you wanted. A+! I’m a new subscriber!
3 days in a row of Ms Caroline for my wife and I. We’ve been doing lots of Beach Body and we just found Caroline. Folks...this is better. Nobody yelling at you. Nobody trying to tell you to give it more effort. Nobody making the fat girl in the corner do the dumb-down version. No breaks that are too short. No hyperactive moves. We just did this full body and guess what? I have a full body burn. Yes - the body needs change doesn’t it. Sometimes the mind does too. Right now this is good on many levels. Caroline gives this away. She’s like AthleanX Jeff Cavalier - they just care about you and want you to get a good workout with them. Thanks again Ms Caroline. You are very helpful!
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, and great you both train together!!💓💓💓 Thrilled you like the workouts and hopefully you both continue to have fun challenging yourselves and seeing how you progress further!!💓💓💓💓
This is my favorite part about it too! I actually just commented about this before I saw your comment! Just focus on the workout with music. I hate when the instructors go on and on and just talk way too much. Caroline is my favorite!!!
@@dianaahomo506 No, when I started, for the first week I did it without dumbell, then second week I used 2 kg dumbell each and then after one month I started using 7.5 kg dumbell each till now...
@dianaahomo506 you want to find the weights that are suitable for you - everyones starting point of strengh is different - try 5 kilos to start if you havent done much work like that
I am 75. This is the second time doing this routine with 5 lb weights. Did 45 seconds on the plank. I hope to improve. Thanks for this video. It's awesome!
Just felt so fat one morning, so I told my husband. That day, my husband said, starting tomorrow, we're gonna wake up at 0430 in the morning and workout in our garage gym. I searched youtube and found you. Started on 3-17-2021 and I'm still here. My worst fatty spot (belly) has already shrunk, but still more to go!!! Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian)!!!
Been following you for over a year now and you've literally changed my life. I'm physically and mentally stronger and with you, it feels like I'm working out with a good friend. Thank you Caroline :)
Is it weird that everytime Caroline indicates with her finger that there's one set left, I nod like she's actually speaking to me? 😄 Thanks Caroline, you are definitely the only personal trainer I need now. 🙏🏽💕
Today I discovered this awesome lady. I just did this workout and I was thinking the same thing. Thank you Caroline for whipping me back into shape! Thank you for posting this and the other videos.
I cannot believe I finished this workout with no extra breaks needed. I also did a 20 minute walk on my treadmill before. I’m currently on a weight loss journey and I’m gonna keep doing this everyday with my treadmill!!! I love this workout. New subscriber. ❤️ Update: March 29, I love this workout. I haven’t been as consistent as I need to be or want to be but I’m still doing the workout. When I first started I was using 8 lb weights but I’m now using 12 lb weights! My mom and hair dresser are saying I look smaller and have lost weight. lol! So excited to keep doing this. I’m trying to lose 145 lbs! I can do this!
If you feel to do something else other than treadmill there's another page mrandmrsmuscle she has some brilliant 20 min no equipment workouts I've been doing this workout everyday for the last two weeks and been doing different 20 min ones of mrandmrsmuscle workouts and my god it's brilliant Good luck I'm also on a mission to lose weight I'm aiming to lose around 100 to 120lbs We've got this!!
You can do this girls. I just lost 30lbs. I have 20 more lbs to go. This is what I did. I started at 182lbs just had my 5th baby. I've lost this amount of weight before with my 3rd baby. Anyway, I did keto inaddition to eating LESS CALORIES. Just because you do keto doesn't mean you lose weight. Eating less and the diet go hand and hand. I did no workout at all for the first 30lbs of weight loss. Just pure discipline. I'm at that stage now (I'm 155 now) I need to work out and eat healthy to lose weight. If I kept up just eating less and not working out, I would have to eat 900 calories a day and that's NOT HEALTHY. I've done it before and I never want to do it again. It doesn't work. At some point you have to move and actively burn calories. Restriction only goes so far. Lastly, you have to have purpose of WHY you are doing it. Looking good is not enough (it helps though. Lol) but you have to tell yourself it's for your health. AND pray. You can't do this without Jesus. You really can't. I pray and ask for the grace of temperance and moderation because it was lack of temperance and immoderation that got me to the weight gain in th 1sr place! Lol last last, I like to turn my dieting into a prayer. I meditate and reflect on those who literally don't have enough food to eat and I think about them and almost don't eat out of solidarity with them, in addition to praying for them (I do want them to eat!) But in my catholic faith I look at fasting as a prayer and a form of penance. It really helps me during the times when I want to eat junk food or just eat more. It keeps me motivated, espeially since we are in the season of lent. Anyway. God is the real reason I'm able to do this. Good luck girls. Hope this helps!!
You can do this!! I want to loose a little belly fat and tone but I loose motivation and my eating habits aren’t good so I’m trying to fix that. You’ve just given me motivation:)
Update: after doing this every day for a week I finally made it to the end of the two minute plank challenge ! Ever since I was a kid I’ve never been able to do more than 10-15 seconds ! I am so happy with how strong I’ve grown in such a short amount of time ! I’m excited to see what will become of me after one month. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart for making this video. I’ve never been able to stick to a routine for more than two days due to mental and physical disabilities that I have.
I love this lady. She's super smiley and nothing she does is EXTREME, ya know? It took me a long time to realize fitness didn't have to feel like a boot camp or be ultra high intensity at all times. The moves are easy, she's a great director/leader, and I'll keep coming back for more every day.
Complete, at 58 I started your videos two months ago. I am seeing muscle again after 3 surgeries last year and very little movement. Today I completed the plank challenge. Thank you for all you do!!!
Hello, have you taken care of your diet? How many times a week and how many minutes did you do it? Did you do cardio? I don't want excess muscle, have you had it too?
My first time doing this and I love it. I love that I'm not left to time this myself, she walks us through the entire workout. I'm 62 and just graduated to my first 20 lb. weight today! I never felt I had time to workout until I retired a year and a half ago. Now it's just part of my routine. Thank you Caroline!
I've been doing this for about 6 weeks now, 3 times a week. I'm already seeing and feeling a difference. Love it! Thank you. I'm moving on to the full hour one next.
I’m 14 and it was better than other workouts I have done because I’m to afraid of gyms and I don’t have another money for the gym and I loved this workout it’s really nice and easy to follow and a feel like people in public and school can’t call me fat anymore and it made me feel more better about my body. Been doing it for a week now.
My legs vibrated like a Nokia 3310. As a male and beginner this seems to be a nice workout to build a core (with some additions on my own). Don’t want to become a weightlifter like some of those muscle dudes, want to go a different route.
never in my life did i think i could hold a plank for 2 minutes, but this video pushed me to go for it and im really proud of myself for this achievement. thank you caroline!!
Today, I broke my personal record by doing this with 2*20 KG Dumbells for all exercises except the pullover, for which I used one dumble. I started with the shoulder press as 40KG. I have been doing your workouts for over three years now. Thank you, Caroline! 💪
Wow I'm so proud of myself for getting through that plank! Planks are definitely a mind game. I just didn't let myself think about it and just focused on my breath. I'm going to have to do way more of these workouts. Thank you!
@@83prettyblack yes, if you are new to working out, especially if you’re using weights you will be shaking after and out of breath for a while. but after continuously doing it, you’ll notice it gets easier :)
Did you experience getting tired easily after a workout that you've been doing for a few months? I thought I was supposed to get stronger. I wonder what happened
I LOVE that you don't talk! I LOVE the beeping, easy to hear and see timer! I LOVE the little video that shows the next movement during rest! I LOVE how you just point to what is important and how you just hold up fingers as a reminder what set we're on! I LOVE your simple, straight forward, no BS approach plus your music doesn't suck and you are nice to look at. I'm sure the guys (gals?) Swoon at your accent. Well done! Thank you very much. Theses are by far my favorite excersize videos. LOVE!
Saturday morning workout complete ✅ I did three sets of each exercise as well as a five minute warmup. So, this took me a little over an hour to complete. Here are my stats: 398 cals burned 115 avg bpm 1,168 steps I hope this helps! 🙂
@@alexa9492it really depends on your weight, the weight you're lifting, your cardiovascular health and a whole host of other factors. I'm about 74kg, resting heart rate of 59bpm and used 2x 10kg weights and burned around 200cals. If you carry more weight/aren't as fit etc, you may burn more, if you carry less weight/are fitter you may burn less
First day of doing this workout. I’m a 14 year old and I love working out. I usually don’t follow a routine when I exercise, I just do stuff I know for a hour. And I wanted to break the habit by following a video. I love how this workout is REALLY full body. Works my arms, shoulders, legs and glutes! I wish there was more of a focus to core besides that. But this is one of the best exercises that I’ve done because I love that there is equal amount of working out and breaks. Also I ADORE that Caroline explains her method before getting into the video for beginners or to people who are new. Unlike people that talk about it throughout the video. And the plank challenge at the end is genius because users can track how long they can hold a plank for and see how they progressively get better at it. I will be giving updates about my progress for the next few weeks while doing this video everyday! :)
I HIT 200 LBS AND DIDN'T KNOW IT UNTIL I WENT FOR MY DR's VISIT AND LET ME TELL YOU, I WAS BEYOND MYSELF! So tonight I found your channel and GIRL YOU GAVE ME A GREAT WORKOUT! I almost gave up at 16 :54 and I didn't, I pushed my fat ass right through your video and I feel GREAT! I accomplished something that I didn't think I was going to make it through and I DID!! WOO-HOO for me. I will be using this video twice a day, I already subscribed so I didn't lose you, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for making this awesome video, Now it's shower time and bed, You done wore me out, LOL!
So enjoying this workout!!! In the space of 2 weeks I can now hold a plank for 1 minute, I know that doesn't sound like much but I'm proud of myself, thank you so much Caroline 💗
This format and audio is so much better for my adhd ! I love the tips and the demonstrations for each workout. This is my first day and I’ve completed it finally. Hopefully I can stick with it for a month ! Only lasted 40 seconds on the plank but I was always shit at those in gym class too 😂
Love this! I love the structure of your videos too Caroline ! So helpful! I hope you’re still getting on ok MrsNeptuna, plank is hard you will 100% build up your strength with consistency and that hold time will get longer! :) 💪🏽
Loved this! If someone is interested in numbers: for a female 77kg 158cm - aprox 20 min workout (without pause and with plank) with 2x 5kg dumbbells 71 active calories 112 total calories ( measured with apple watch as functional training, only active workout time, without pause)
Alright, so I haven’t been doing this workout consistently. But for the last 2 months I did this work out either once, twice of 3 times a week. Mainly once or twice. Combined with a diet and hella protein I noticed a big difference in my body. I look more toned, and developed a little muscle so far. :) Edit: HAPPY 2024!! I’m starting this workout up again Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The other days are running or walking or ab workouts I guess
wow, i really noticed an improvement with the plank in the end! i remember when i used to struggle so much and was shaking insanely after the first thirty seconds, but this time it felt even kinda easy. i just found my love for working out during the last year. i didn't lose any weight, i actually gained some (which was very much needed, coming from a disordered eating background) but i also gained so much more. strength. and life. sometimes i think i haven't improved at all, but this workout showed me i really did! so remember that the changes on your inside and your mind are so much more important than any appearance based stuff!
I'm coming up on my 2 year Heart-i-versary (heart transplant) and found this video for dumbbells. I've had some challenges these past two years, but -- finally -- all the organs are settling, baselining and maintaining. Time to get back at it and your video was/is perfect!! Thank you!
101% positive feedback ! I was a gym person until lockdown happened last year. Since then Gyms are on and off as the number oscillates. Fitness is perishable and I lost all my stamina within few weeks. I decided to do something at home bought some dumbbells. From last 2 month I have following this video thrice a week and on first attempt I wasn't able to complete the sets. After a month ( 12 sessions) I upgraded from 2.5KG dumbbell to 5 kg dumbbell. Now after2 month I am able to complete the sets in 40-45 minutes. My target is to reach 30 minutes first and then I'll upgrade dumbbell to 7.5 KG. This is amazing change and I feel like I am very fast approaching my fitness peak. The 30 seconds rest really helps and this becomes a weight training class where you have toned trainer to teach. She sets the tone in initial few minutes and then you are 100% focused only on training. the times, the music, and off course the trainer is simply awesome. Caroline you are changing lives ! Loads of love and best wishes.
I wish I could show a picture of when I first found you and started working out along with you and NOW...what a huge difference you've really helped me make. Thank you so much. 💜💙💜💙
Im 14, but im trying to gain some more muscle so I can get better at club volleyball, and this has honestly helped so much ! Its not too hard but not too easy ! surprised I lasted the full 2 minutes on the plank. Looking forward to getting better with you !
@@jannatnadeem6875 consume a lot of protein, eat anything you want, or maybe more if you're skinny. Try to control your calorie intake if you're not skinny. Supplements like protein powder do help!
I’m in a similar position to you! I’m 12 and play netball, I want to improve my muscle mass and be more consistent and this helps heaps, I feel so proud once I finish the whole thing
This is a great workout, I love the visual cues and no verbal. It was especially awesome having 30 second reps/rests - it was just enough time to do the move, then go chase my 13 month old from whatever mischief she managed to get into during that 30 seconds and reset!
Today is my Dad's first day of chemotherapy, I really wanted to distract and channel my energy this morning, and I feel ten times better. Thank you for all of your kick @$$ workouts!!
As a 14 year old I think I did okay for lasting 18 minutes as my first workout,I'm exhausted but I'm sure it will be worth it,thank u for posting this! I hope I can do better tomorrow.
Still the same person but different time. I was lazy and stop exercising for almost a year. Couldnt barely survive the first 30sec of the plank. Pretty disappointed w myself 😅
For some one who has been trying to put on weight through weight training at home this is very helpful as we get follow along videos rather than just the workouts it works like a charm for motivating to do more
Thank you dear, for always sharing the videos selflessly. Each one of them has taught me a lot. It has become a habit to train with Caroline's videos every day, and give back as much as you give back. I am very happy to have you and we will stick to it 💪 💪
I just wanted to say thank you for creating this. I am massively overweight and have started to exercise again and I actually feel great after completing this workout; it is nice to do a shorter workout that is achievable and makes me feel invigorated about what I can do after a workout rather than feeling sad about what I can’t do. I will continue on with this and the other shorter videos in the series and work up to the longer harder workouts, I have really enjoyed this and can’t thank you enough for creating something that is achievable!
I honestly don't think there is one workout I haven't enjoyed. The weighted ones are my absolute favourites and this one did not disappoint at all. Thank you Caroline❤
I love the fact that you give a heads up of what is coming. I also like the music you choose on the background but most of all I can see the impact and the change in my body. I had been looking for exercise to do at home for a long time until I found you. I am recommending you to family and friends.
You literally make me feel so safe. Like the small movements of encouragement as well as the constant smiles. The atmosphere of the video is just so warming and welcoming. Thank you!!!!

I sometimes switch it up and try out another channel but I ALWAYS come back to yours instead because I love how you show the next move ahead of time and some of these other fitness instructors just talk way too much during the workout haha. I love how yours have music in the background and we can just focus on the workout! Thank you for all of your videos!!
I can hold plank for 2 minutes and i am the happiest now🤩 My shoulder was injured two years ago and I was unable to do the plank more than 30second.thank you soooo much
Caroline I don’t know how to thank you, I really appreciate all the hard works you do for us, you really make me very passionate about doing my exercises and I have been following many personal trainers but I don’t really like their videos as much as I like yours, keep going 👍🏼
Great video! Made me feel like I was working out with a friend rather than an instructor. Also very motivational even with no speaking, definitely my favorite!!!!!

So simple yet so effective. Been doing this twice a week and i've already increased 5kg my dumbells for the upper part and 10kg for the lower. Thank you so much
@@babashah8248 i would say each 2 weeks i increase a litle the weight. Or wennever the exercise seems easier. If i don't feel dificulties in 10 reps i increase it.
This was the workout that made me fall in love with strength training. And when I need to remind myself why I love working out this is the one I come back to. Thank you Caroline ❤
Thanks sm for this workout! I started barely making it with 10 lb weights and needing extra breaks but after 3 months of relative consistency I’m using 17.5 working towards 20
Yay! Managed the whole workout, the plank I managed about 40 seconds lol, but thank you so much, really enjoyed this workout, will definitely keep doing it.
Awesome!! 40 seconds is really good. As long as you’re squeezing and making every second count you’re totally killing it.❤️ We’re getting stronger every workout!
Just discovered you Caroline, and I’m in love! So refreshing doing a heavy dumbbell workout for women that isn’t lifting tiny weights a zillion times. I exercise daily, but I feel like this one will actually make me stronger. Also I had no idea I could do a two minute plank. Thank you for pushing me to try it - I actually did it!

Yup so do I
I cannot believe I finished this workout with no extra breaks needed. I also did a 20 minute walk on my treadmill before. I’m currently on a weight loss journey and I’m gonna keep doing this everyday with my treadmill!!! I love this workout. New subscriber. ❤️
Update: March 29, I love this workout.
If you feel to do something else other than treadmill there's another page mrandmrsmuscle she has some brilliant 20 min no equipment workouts I've been doing this workout everyday for the last two weeks and been doing different 20 min ones of mrandmrsmuscle workouts and my god it's brilliant
Good luck I'm also on a mission to lose weight I'm aiming to lose around 100 to 120lbs
We've got this!!
Same!! 🎉
You’ve just given me motivation:)
good luck and keep on grinding

I did three sets of each exercise as well as a five minute warmup. So, this took me a little over an hour to complete. Here are my stats:
398 cals burned
115 avg bpm
1,168 steps
I hope this helps! 🙂
so do you think the video is about 350 calories burned? been trying to calculate
@@alexa9492I would say. I lost around 300 but had to skip some sets because I’m too weak.
I did it for the first time and my whole body is trembling! it feels so good. Thank you so much for this workout :)

wow, i really noticed an improvement with the plank in the end! i remember when i used to struggle so much and was shaking insanely after the first thirty seconds, but this time it felt even kinda easy. i just found my love for working out during the last year. i didn't lose any weight, i actually gained some (which was very much needed, coming from a disordered eating background) but i also gained so much more. strength. and life. sometimes i think i haven't improved at all, but this workout showed me i really did! so remember that the changes on your inside and your mind are so much more important than any appearance based stuff!
