Dr Berry, would you consider creating a beginner's keto recipe list? I've been trying to go keto for a while now but cannot find enough recipes to replace my current diet, and I believe such a database would assist many newcomers. Kind regards from Australia ☺
See, I don’t have any of those symptoms. Yet, I have Hashimoto’s again, thanks to an infection and had to take an antibiotic in Dec 2021. I know how to treat the infection naturally, now, if I get the infection again.
I have every one of these symptoms and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 6 weeks ago. I have an appointment tomorrow for my first check up since diagnosis.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's three years ago. And the fatigue, brain fog, irregular menstrual cycles and mental health is real. It is hard to explain to others that you just can't make yourself do something. You're always tired, and people are constantly just saying "just do it". I would if it was that easy.
I can definitely relate. It's so terrible, and no one seems to fully understand! 😣😩 Also, I had on top of this a vitamin B12 deficienciy and it caused similar symptoms as well. So if you still feel like you have lingering symptoms of thyroiditis PLEASE 🚩 start taking vitamin B12 @ 2000 mcg daily along with vitamin B complex DAILY ! It's VERY Critically ESSENTIALl !!! 🚩👍 ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah, I basically have no friends left. Everyone likes to talk about "I am there for you" if you suffer depression, but the truth is most people have some almost instinct where they kick people when they sense they are down. I finally just quit trying to be around people who do not know and understand my challenges. I used to have lots of friends and then I would get depressed and they would beat me down with crap about "Learn gratitude" and "Pull yourself out of it" kind of "support." I finally decided it is easier to have a TINY circle of friends than to get kicked when I am down by the people I thought were friends.
I am so with you. I have chronic fatigue and other problems and I understand compleaty. I never know until i wake up each day if i am going to be able to get out of bed or do anything! I hate Brain Fog!! fribro... causes that kind of fatigue as well as the brain fog. I have to take a pain pill to be able to go take a shower!!
Same and loss of balance like I'm going to fall over, I used to could go outside and help my kids in the yard but now I can't do more than 20-30 minutes then I have to sit down and I'm only 38.
My side effects stemmed from my statin meds and low B12. I just started taking natural supplements and learned from Dr Ken about healthy diet! THANK YOU DR FOR YOUR INFORMATIVE ADVICE!
Because of this channel, I asked for these tests. My doctor looked at me like I has crazy but did the testing anyways. My TSH normal, Free T3 normal, and Free T4 normal. Antibodies off the chart and diagnoses of Hashimotos. Thank you Dr. Berry and Neisha for everything you do!
Your intuition is correct. Thyroid issues are a gut issue. Dr. E the NP with a PHD has the best video on treating the cause, and not just the symptoms. I wish you well on your journey to health!
@@DonnaShort-i5uTake matters into your own hands and be your own advocate! Check if you have an active viral infection too - Lyme, Epstein-Barr, CMV. People with gut issues are likely to have weakened immune systems (due to malabsorption) and the viruses start damaging the body - liver, thyroid, kidneys (adrenals) thus causing fatigue/brain fog. The goal is to support your immune system (preferably thru IV vitamins to bypass the stomach) and let the immune system put the virus back into remission. The other goal is to heal the organs that the virus attacked. Root Cause w/ Dr. Jake has a great explanation on the protocol if it's viral induced.
A lot of medical professionals think that one of the symptoms of this disease are "leaky gut" issues. Basically, the consumption of gluten weakens the intestinal walls at the same time that it attacks the thyroid, which allows toxins, partially digested food, and bacteria to generate the tissue beneath it; so the two tend to go hand-in-hand.
Georgina Golden the same thing happened to me. GP’s have no idea how to read thyroid tests or even what tests to order. I was told by my gynecologist when my Thyroid test came back low, that I didn’t have a thyroid issue as I didn’t look like a person with thyroid problems. A year later I had cancer.
@@ashtonkraus7926 I had a biopsy in the nodule found cells of papillary thyroid cancer in one spot, had the cancer taken out along with the thyroid they found three spots with cancer all under 1cm which was good. 11 years later, with no thyroid I still have hashimoto disease no symptoms really.
Hi! I’m sad to hear so many comment that their Dr won’t order the labs. I found Quest lab online, ordered the tests this afternoon, made an appointment, went in for the blood draw, and now I’m waiting for the results. Another symptom that wasn’t mentioned is the outer 1/3 of your eyebrows thinning. Mine have almost disappeared! For 3 1/2 decades I’ve had Drs send me for thyroid tests- and they never once tested Reverse T3, or the antibodies! I’m sure I have Hashimotos. My heart goes out to all who have suffered while they waited for a diagnosis. ❤
I have Hashimoto's. The worst part is the inability to articulate what is wrong with you due to the brain fog. My doctor failed to diagnose me until I started to have suicidal thoughts. I was sleeping 20 hours per day and was always tired. It was awful. I would go to bed before my 3 year old. He would come into the bedroom crying because he couldn't reach the lights to turn them off. I was the worst mother out there. My son paid a very high price for my illness. I would sit in the sun and watch my skin burning yet I was wearing a sweater because I was cold. My skin is so dry it looks like snakeskin. Don't even get me started on the weight gain. My doctor actually said to me "You eat too much." To which I replied, "But I hardly eat anything." 20+ years later I finally have a family doctor who actually listens to me. He referred me to an endocrinologist and I finally feel like I am getting back to my old self, but holy cow, what a long journey. The only thing that kept me going was the diagnosis. For the first time I felt "hope". I knew for certain I wasn't "crazy and I had hope that things would get better and they did.
After so many years of bad doctors. I finally got one to do the right labs. Boy, was I right! I knew something was very wrong with my thyroid. These doctors are playing with so many lives! Thank you, Doctor Berry, for educating people. God bless you!!
Here's my outline (plus extras): 7 secret signs (8) (extras I added that he named in low iodine video sent to patrons) 1. Brain Fog 2. Fatigue 3. Decreased Sex Drive 4. Mental Changes 5. Weight Gain or Trouble Losing even though diet warrants loss 6. Irregular Periods / Trouble Conceiving 7. Cold Intolerance / cold hands & feet 8. Dry Skin, Nails, Hair (Excessive hair loss, carb cravings, goiter) Panel of tests to request: 1. TSH 2. Free T4 3. Free T3 4. Reverse T3 *5. TPT antibody *6. TG antibody *specific to Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (Iodine rich foods: sea fish, crustaceans, sea weed - nori, kelp, wakomi, haziki, Meat & organs - grass fed better bc dairy farm animals will have less & be inorganic, eggs [Dr Berg says 6/day are appx daily iodine need, Coastal plants/food w/access to ocean air -not potatoes. Halogen family, flouride, bromide chlorine all kill iodine in your body. Thyroid (every) gland concentrates iodine but all cells use it & we need iodine as much as we need water. Any person should try to get 1-3mg/day, you pee extra out. Supplement linked in his video notes. Many comments name Ludols 2% Many comments say iodine, selenium, E, zinc, + combo supp from their personal experience, even a man or more.)
Also, a great self test to do at home....in morning before putting feet on floor, take a basal shake down old timer thermometer, place under underarm , leave for two minutes, then read. Write down temperature number. Do this forfive consecutive days. Then take the average or mean of all five numbers, and if it's less that 97.5, you likely have low thyroid function. Learned this from a wholistic, integrative, functional medical doctor 24 years ago. And still do it from time to time. Jean.
My wife has hashimoto’s and I have hypothyroidism (unknown cause). The Keto diet has given us a new lease on life. We barely survived the sleep deprivation of children, which highlighted other underlying food sensitivities and health issues. Keto has been a true life changer for us.
Also a good at home test to do is in the morning before you get out of bed, before putting your feet on the floor, take an old time shake down basal thermometer, and put it under your underarm. Leave there for two minutes. Write down the temperature number. Do this for 5 consecutive mornings days. Take the average or mean of the five temperature numbers. If average number is below 97.3, you may likely have a low functioning thyroid. I learned this 24 years ago, from a wholistic, integrative, functional medical doctor. I still do it from time to time. Filling out a questionnaire on symptoms from such a doctor, and doing another one from time to time, enables the doctor to track your success or progress once he puts you on a natural thyroid glandular, or prescription med. Jean.
@@RottenInDenmarkOrginalconsider discussing cytomel , mainly T3, with your doctor. It can really help to pick up a sluggish thyroid, if you indeed have hypothyroidism. 🌞
I was diagnosed in 2007 with Hypothyroidism and Hashimotos in 2019. My endocrinologist gave me diet pills to help with weightloss. Fast forward, I didn't lose any weight. I am 40 now and I feel like I've missed my chance to have other children, I do have a son which I had at age 20. I would drive the 12 hours to TN just to see a doctor that has actually taken the "blinders" off. Thank you Dr Berry for this post.
I am struggling with my doctor to get a full panel done. I've been on meds for over 50 years. I've been plagued by these symptoms my entire life. In some ways it has ruined my life. I have written this info down and have an appointment scheduled May 1st. I am on a mission to make the last few years better than the previous ones. I deserve this. Thank you so much.
My Dr asked me how I was feeling in general. I told him crappy. He said it's because my thyroid count was 16. I'm thankful I have a Doctor who is genuinely concerned about my health. Sometimes diet alone doesn't help.
Last year I went gluten and dairy free, I’ll add my doctor would only order TSH which was in the “normal” range, so many of my symptoms were alleviated and I lost 15 pounds in 2 months. Well, of course I went off the diet and gained the weight back and all my symptoms came back. 3 months ago I went on a semaglutide, I was eating 800-1100 calories a day and exercising 1 hour daily. I felt like complete garbage and then I had a situation where my stomach complexity stopped digestion… in that 3 months I lost a whopping 5 pounds. I started to reflect on the fact I lost weight on a gluten/dairy free diet and revisited my labs in the last 5 years and compared my TSH. I’ve ordered all the labs I need on quest because I’m convinced I have hashimotos, I have every symptom. I’ve also gone back to gluten/dairy free and slowly starting to feel myself again on top of taking all the right supplements for hashimoto. My doctor refuses to order any further testing so I’m doing it myself, doctors really should be ashamed of themselves in this country. I wish everyone the best of luck on their thyroid journey.
i’m sitting here watching this and reading through the comments and it actually feels like i can breath out better again to know i’m not alone. i’m really young to have this disease i’m currently 21 and got diagnosed a year ago at the age of 20. not only have i got this i also have a nodular goitre and i honestly feel like garbage constantly. my doctor isn’t the best but because i’m in the uk all responses in regards this is the same. ive been put on medication but it’s not working and i have a scan tomorrow to see if surgery is needed. it’s scary and stressful (which doesn’t help with the symptoms from both diagnoses if anything it makes them worse). im just so thankful and relieved to here that i’m not alone in this and i’m thankful for all the comments as well as it’s made me see that there is so many people going through the same feelings and symptoms as me that with this disease it’s “normal”. my family aren’t the most supportive in regards my illnesses cuz they can’t see it and i also am a single mum of a 2 year old so they see me having these illnesses as my excuse to moan but to hear that it’s not just in my head is so relieving to say the least. massive thank you xxx
I was diagnosed with Hashi's some 20 yrs ago but had none of the mentioned symptoms, eg. I'm intollerant to heat and sun, not so much cold. Sex drive unchanged, no weight gain, no depression or anxiety, no irregular periods or change in mental health - just fatigue and occasional brain fog, and this not even so bad as you mentioned. Just thought I'd mention it, so people don't think you have to have all of these to have Hashi's.
In my case, I had extreme heat intolerance, noise intolerance, allergies, my thinking wasn’t cloudy, hunger to an extreme, I had to eat every two hours. As a nurse, I could tell that my thyroid wasn’t functioning right but it took me ten years and a few expletives to convence my doctor to do more than a TSH, T3 Nd T4 because all of them were normal. One MD even told me it was in my head!
I feel just like you but my intolerance is with the cold ! Some winter I cry because i feel extremely cold. Always Hungry and noise intolerance too !! I will get my thyroid checked out next month with my new fico👍🏼
@@danubiacallara ask the doctor to do a TPO (Thyroxine PerOxidase). This test will determine if you have Hashimoto’s Thyroidism. Your thyroid function panel can still be normal. It took ten more years after the diagnosis for my thyroid to drop and I became a hypothyroidal person.
Thanks you for your service in Nursing. It takes a very strong and special person to take care of complete strangers for a living. I too have really really bad heat intolerance. And I sweat a lot. Profusely. But only around my hair line and my forehead. Severe brain fog too. To where I would tell people I was getting early dementia/Alzheimer’s. Best of luck to you all amd your loved ones
Thank you for this . My family doctor wouldn’t listen to me about hashimoto and 4 years later I found out I had it at the same time I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in which I’ve been fighting for 2 years now and it doesn’t wanna go to sleep. It keeps on spreading. I’ve learned to be my own advocate if something feels off don’t stop until your doctor listens . I finally have my doctors attention just sad it took thyroid cancer to get her attention :(
That's horrible! I hope you continue getting the help you need! I was lucky that my primary doctor has a wife with thyroid issues. He was the one who ordered all the tests needed, and he did some of them multiple times just to make sure that his diagnosis matches with the results. I was really lucky in that regard.
I had to tell my doctor that I didn’t give a ....(expletive) what her TSH, T3 and T4 was going to say because they were going to be fine but, I had the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. This is after talking to several doctors about my potential thyroid problem for 10 years! She did TPO and bingo! It was elevated! She called me home and told me: “You’re right!”
I had a fabulous endocrinologist. She diagnosed instantly low thyroid and Hashimotos. T4 stabilizes T3 very important. I lived in Florida and would wake up shivering, exhausted by 1:00 pm, brain fog. Over time your heart can be effected. Take it seriously!
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s years ago. You are right on point. No thyroid gland now. All the same symptoms are back, doctor will not do any thing about it. Antibodies are near 1000. I am too tired to keep looking for another doctor that doesn’t care anyway. Knowing it is one thing, finding doctor to help is impossible!😢
I went to a naturopathic doctor a year and a half ago to get extensive blood tests testing virtually everything. I think he did like around 12 different thyroid tests on me as well as around 35 other blood tests for other things. Anyway, so I dont have hashimotos or hyper or hypothyroid but one test did come up that I am more prone than other people to possibly develop hashimotos one day. I dont have any of the symptoms that you listed above except for dry skin and its mostly my face where my skin is dry. But I recommend that people seek out a naturopath because otherwise you will never get enough blood tests done to give you a complete picture of what is going on in your body. Even if you seem healthy and dont have any symptoms of something, still get comprehensive blood work done every so often
Same story here. I feel great but my dry, itchy skin tells a different story. I'm currently working with a naturopathic doctor to get some relief after a thyroid panel showed some abnormal numbers.
I have all the symptoms but for years have been told thyroid normal. I finally got appointment with an endocrinologist. He did more extensive testing. I go back in about 10 days but already know antibodies are red flagged! So watched this video and jaw drop, all these individual symptoms I have yet I never put it together!!!! Look forward to visit with endocrinologist!
Just want to say thank you for this video!! Just found out I have this and had chalked all of these symptoms up to stress. The brain fog, libido and definitely changes in personality had been bothering me for a few years. Very glad to know im.not crazy! And, there are things I can do. Thank you very much.
I really appreciate Dr. Ken' s video. Hashimoto's wrecked my life for several years but it was only after I insisted that my doctor run the tests on me that it was discovered. I can attest to everything he says about Hashimoto's in the video. The reason that was given why I had not been diagnosed properly was that I was a middle age man and generally it is not common in males. I have at least blunted some of the effects with the thyroid hormone replacement treatment, something I will have to take everyday for the rest of my life.
I was diagnosed by a specialist who gave me an ultrasound. She said it was very clear. I have been treated for low thyroid function for years. Currently on 250 mcg Synthroid.
I asked my dr years ago to check both antibodies and sure enough I had Hashimotos Thyroiditis . Since that time I have recommended these to many people. Good advice.
I’ve had hypothyroidism most of my 59 years, having been diagnosed in very early childhood, but no one ever thought to check my antibodies until I was well into my 40’s. I’ve had all the symptoms except constipation and cold intolerance.
My doctor ordered my annual labs. My TSH came back slightly elevated so he ordered the Free T4, Free T3, TPO AB and TG AB. The Free T3 and Free T4 came back perfect within range. However the TPO AB and TG AB were sky high! He diagnosed me with Hashimoto's. It is starting to make so much sense what I have been experiencing for so long now (12+ years) with no diagnosis (many wrong diagnoses).
I take 25 mics of levo , but have stepped it down over two years . Lion's diet reversed all my symptoms . Zero corticosteroids for three years now for RA . Zero painkillers... after 20 yrs of roughnecking with RA I feel better at fifty than I did at 30.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease for 25 years have been taking Thyroid medications for that long and still have same symptoms....I’ve been eating a keto diet since October 2019 have not lost any weight. I’ve gained 80 lbs since 1995 and can not get it off with keto. I’m now seeing an endocrinologist and a naturalpathic dr who switched me over to a pork thyroid....so will be asking endocrinologist about these tests you mentioned. Thanks for this video!
@@t.b.1596 my keto Dr just switched me to 60mg Armour Thyroid, apparently my body doesn’t need the higher dose of thyroid, happens when you age and the diet you are on……
I’m going through the process of diagnosis and I’m telling you what, this stuff is nasty! I’ve been having serious problems, it has changed my life for sure!! But I’m excited to see what changes I get to experience getting back to “normal “
My autoimmune story started with vitiligo aged eighteen, I developed Graves in 1995 which turned to Hashimoto's fairly quickly but wasn't diagnosed until 2018 when I did a private autoimmune antibody blood test and gave it to an endocrinologist. Now treated with levothyroxine and liothyronine but still have all the chronic symptoms of the disease at 63 years old.
I hashimotos since I was 16 years old, kinda diagnosed myself by getting anti tpo done which was 635 at that time, I had hypothyroidism since 12. point being this is the most shittiest condition to deal with. you have no control over half of your body including brain and heart. weak bones, stiff muscles, low energy.. and they expect one tiny pill will solve the problem. no normal person understands what kind of hell it is to have something like that. with thyroid you just have to compromise on every aspect of your life and I feel scientist, endocrinologists and other researchers should put in more efforts to create a better treatment plan that covers every aspect of the disease. I believe we are expected to get used to it but that is no treatment that is a torture.
I was literally just watching a Doctor Ken video when this one popped up. LOL I'm hooked on this advice. It has helped me to loose 20 pounds so far and I'm continuing to drop weight.
My mom has Hashimoto and she was my age when she was diagnosed and she brought up me getting tested and the more I look into it the more I definitely will. I'm not a hundred percent sure about myself because I have some symptoms (incredibly low drive, fatigue, red and flaky skin on my face, brain fog and heat intolerance) but I also have diagnosed depression and autism which include some of the same symptoms. I'm gonna asked to be tested to be sure
My father nearly died from Overactive Thyroid in the early 1960s. It was viewed back then as a woman's complaint. It went undiagnosed for some time. At first, they thought it was Cancer. Then they thought it was radioactive sickness. He was in Nagasaki and Hiroshima as occupational forces after they dropped the Atomic Bombs. They did test for this. He changed doctors and they did a proper thyroid test they would normally give women and found an Overactive Thyroid. In appearance, he looked like the photographs as seen for an inmate from the Belsen concentration camp, yet was having 6 meals a day. He could not eat enough food to offset the condition. His treatment was the use of Radioactive Iodine to reduce the high activity of the Thyroid Gland. He now takes Thyroxine daily to balance the thyroid as the RA Iodine was a bit too strong. In this case, it's a hereditary condition and 7 out of ten people in the greater extended family suffer either from overactive or underactive Thyroid. For me in 2006 conditions started to appear. I had tests and the Doctor missed it. I changed Doctors and in 2009 a further test was done and the condition was picked up. Firstly, I gained weight. Went from UK/Aus shoe size 9 to an eleven. Went from 42" waist to 46". My body has not reverted to the original 2005 size. Had the brain fog, exhaustion and clinical depression. A really bad time. I really should have more Thyroxine but it's limited because of a heart condition.
Symptoms: Brain Fog Fatigue Greatly decreased sex drive/libido Change in mental health: depressed, anxious, feelings of borderline psychosis, complete personality change Weight gain or difficulty losing weight Irregular menstrual cycles and/or infertility Cold intolerance: feeling cold when others in the room are comfortable Dry skin, nails, and hair Testing: TSH Free T4 Free T3 Reverse T3 TPO antibody TG antibody
Thank you so much Dr. Berry! My endocrinologist told me there's nothing I can do with my Hashimoto's. After specifically telling him the tests I want, his response was "You only need TSH and Free T4". Hello... It's seriously borderline malpractice!
I’m seeing an endocrinologist in Feb after additional tests: kidneys and thyroid ultra sounds, bone density test, blood tests, 24 hour until test, and blood tests for calcium, vitamin D, and leg nerve tests. Sometimes the pain in my feet and calves is shooting and lightening pain. I can’t go for walks except one day and rest but mostly not at all right now.
Thank you doc ! Gonna advocate for myself on Dec 26! My life is getting more and more limited I can’t even work, spending 16 hours a day sleeping, weight gain on 1400 calories, only 2 healthy meals per day I feel debilitated. All they say is subclinical hypothyroidism with fluctuating numbers. I have a heterogenous thyroid but my doc said that’s normal, half my hair has fallen out too and my life feels over at 30, will fight for these tests!
And you need to check your pituitary as well, my diagnosis for thyroid 2011 ft 4 12 to 22 , tsh? My daughter’s 2015 ft4 9 to 19 tsh ?, dr said healthy levels in the ft 4 12 to 22 , 16 to 17. This is the English ranges, any other countries use other ranges, ask your daughter why they keep changing the ranges, the thyroid and pituitary both regulate the sex glands, also check your vitamins and minerals, as hair loss can be iron. But look at your results as you may be slightly in range high or low but not be in optimal levels if the ranges being used, and told your normal. Don’t trust what your told and become your own advocate. See if there’s hormonal problems in both set of your parents families, with the women problems with women’s troubles , or anger with the men, all of these happen because of dysfunction in the endocrine system. @ thank you stranger, yes I have iron deficiency anemia, with no explainable reason, having my gi track checked as well, doc thinks this is all anemia but hematologist thinks it’s thyroid, went to my doc today to fight for antibody testing which lead to us parting ways as doc/patient, got my results back, confirmed Hashimotos, just like my mom! Apparently iron deficiency and Hashimotos are related, seeing an endocrinologist soon to see what’s best and now working to change my diet and reduce inflammation in body. Spent the past year in and out of ERs thinking I was dying. Symptoms: Fainting, dizziness, joint pain, extreme fatigue (like slept the entire day) weakened, hair loss, severe, lost half my hair, noticeable goiter and my “normal” thyroid scan said I had a heterogenous thyroid gland, worst symptoms for me aside from fatigue was tachycardia/breathlessness my heart would shoot up to 220s at rest and I would start shaking. Insane! I will consider this moving forward. Thank you for taking the time to share this with me, I am wishing the very best for you and your family. 💝
Hi there, Dr. Ken, kudos on you for sharing this information with others. I had Hashimoto probably ever since my first set of vaxes as a young teenager, I noticed and still remember that there was a difference in my own bodily functions right after those waxes. Though Hashi kicked in at a full throttle only after my first major NDE in 1978. Indeed, I lost my period a few months after that traumatic experience. However, that was just the beginning of a much longer and painful journey. I agree with you about all the symptoms that you've mentioned here, though there are some other symptoms that often get misinterpreted or even disregarded, like food sensitivities, allergies, leaky gut, and often recurrent infections mostly UTI in women. Another symptom that I personally have experienced was a glucose imbalance. In my long and painful experience, I learnt how to modulate Hashimoto through a complete holistic and naturopathic approach, in my opinion, it has proven to be the most effective way not only to modulate the dis-ease, but to reverse all possible and related issue along with Hashi itself. Now, the infamous question would be: Is Hashimoto still there? Answer: - Of course, it still present, do not ever fool yourself into thinking that just because symptoms are no longer present that Hashi is completely gone, not at all. Hashimoto is always present due to the gene mutation, but as long as there is a proper consistent nutritional protocol along with the adequate nutritional supplements, then Hashi could pretty much be considered asleep, as long as there are zero to just a few antibodies. I learnt about Hashimoto all on my own, after being misdiagnosed, sent to a psychiatrist, and treated for hypothyroidism instead. Many years ago, I came to the realization that I was up against something that allopathic medicine didn't know how to approach correctly or didn't even recognize it as for what it actually is. I developed some strategies on my own after reading many books on alternative Naturopathic medicine. First rule: recognize that things do not get better unless the issue is properly found and addressed. Second, do not assume that others know your own body better than you do, just because they have a college degree, and you don't. Third, do not accept when someone tells you that something is chronic, incurable or irreversible, they just don't understand the "beast." Do not overload yourself with stressful thoughts or tasks, Hashimoto, like every other autoimmune disorder, does not work well under stressful situations. Ease up on your own daily routine and accept yourself as you are, perfection is not a natural human trait. There are some other strategies that I had to adopt in order to coop with this handicap, but the above mentioned are the main ones that I felt I could share with whoever may be reading this. Some of these strategies might work for me but might not work for someone else; it is always best to take what serve and leave out what doesn't. In any case, I hope this could be of help to whoever may read it. PS: Hashimoto can be present and not showing symptoms at all for years on, until something major triggers it. It is very Important to have the bloodwork that Dr. Ken advice properly done, there is a huge difference between Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto or any other autoimmune dis-ease, I cannot stress that enough.
So extremely helpful, Dr. Berry. Thank you for caring and understanding. I, like your wife, have been diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroiditis. Mine was diagnosed years ago. Sadly, there is no cure, but meds do help. I think my mom died from it because she was undiagnosed for so many years, and I thought I read something that your body can shut down eventually if left untreated.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Although my doctor said I dont have thyroid antibodies. But I have cold intolerance, weight gain, hair loss, and fatigue. I started taking magnesium, iodine and selenium. I feel a lot better already.
@@Weaton777 I take the iodine from Thorne. Iodine and tyrosine it comes together in 1 pill. I take 1 pill twice a day. I do a lot so I'm not sure what is actually working. I take a b vitamin complex. I take fermented cod liver oil, N-acetyl-cisteine and vitex for my endometriosis. I only drink filtered water and I have a filter for my shower. Because chlorine and fluoride can negatively affect your thyroid also. And I cut out gluten, sugar, all processed foods. I did a candida diet and took supplements for candida, and I also take probiotics. I really think healing leaky gut is the first step to healing any condition. I still eat some grains but very little. So idk. It's a lot. My hair is still falling out and I still have cold intolerance, but my fatigue is gone and my weight is back to normal. Oh yeah I also take vitamin D and I eat natto for extra K2 as well as eating liver 2x a week.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 1994 and wasn't diagnosed with Hoshimotos until 2012. I still get cold hands and feet. I have also been diagnosed with Raynaud's Disease. When my hands get cold they turn blue, if the get hot they turn bright red.
I've been hypothyroid for 21 years. I have at least 4 of the symptoms you describe. The fatigue, inability to lose weight, and depression, have reduced my quality of life for 2 decades. Also, my skin is now so dry that my arms and legs are flakey and my lips are crispy. I also have chronic "Dry Eye". I had other symptoms when I was younger - like irregular periods and trouble conceiving. It's going to be hard to get testing right now, with the CV situation. I'll just have to hang on.
Cut out soy, gluten, for some people dairy and eggs (I still eat dairy and eggs tho) and get a high quality probiotic. Amy Myers MD has 2 books on thyroid diseases and how to heal them. The fertility Friday podcast also has some episodes on thyroid issues and the thyroid answers podcast.
I’m in the process of begging my doctor to do the additional testing. I’ve had the super flaky skin now my G.I. track is not working I’ve had trouble eating it’s crazy I’ve never been cold in my life and all of a sudden I’m having to put a flannel shirt on when it’s 70°. So many symptoms I’m sure my local doctor at the clinic is going to think I’m insane and I don’t even think there’s a functional doctor near me!
I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and Hypothyroidism in 2019. I have all these symptoms and even extreme inflammation in my brain. I was overly medicated for nearly a year or so and it caused even worse symptoms. Prior to being diagnosed I always felt like I was having a stroke or heart attack atleast twice a year and would rush myself to the ER. No one ever tested my tsh or anything in 2019 was the first time and my tsh was over 40 on top of that my antibodies are even now over 20,000 with medication. I felt for several years after being diagnosed that I had a flu in my brain I really don't know how else to explain it. I felt like I was on something is how bad the symptoms in my brain were. My personality completely changed and I have been working to get back to me. Things are better now yet I still have my days of bad flare ups. This disease is nothing to mess with
Yes...these symptoms mimicked my hashimotos, b12 deficiencies, low iron, low ferritin, low folate, low vitamin D along with having Lupus diagnosis after being diagnosed with hashis. Not all go with each but sone overlap. But, push for testing cause my thyroid almost always shows normal with exception of thyroid antibodies and anxiety at the begin of this prior to diagnosis was insane.
This list resonates. Especially the part about feeling like a different person. My husband met me when I suspect my Hashimoto's was in its first major flare up; as soon as I met him I gained 80lbs in about 6 months and my personality did a roundabout. Twenty years untreated has changed a lot of things. I'm 47 now and I really just want to not feel like garbage but my Dr trrats NDT like its the devil
Yeah. I asked and I got the standard test, (TSH, T4) refusing to do more than that because he said it wasn't needed unless those numbers were off.. I've had all of these symptoms for years except for weight problems, though going keto has reversed much of my brain fog and fatigue. :/ I don't think I can convince my doctor to do full proper test..
You guys can order your own labs, right? I think there are only a handful of states that do not allow this. Google something like "private blood labs" and you'll find a ton of results for sites that allow you to order your own blood tests. You'll have to pay, but depending on how important it is to you to get the results, it can be well worth it!
Thanks for making this. I have always been scared to ask for this from my doctors because they always assume I just need to change my diet or I was a brand new mom. But I know there is something more underlying. So thanks for giving me the tools to ask.
I’m so happy I found your channel I’ve learned a lot I’ve had these symptoms for a year right after I caught Covid in 2022 but I figured it was long term Covid with hair loss skin rashes but I got worse with fatigue mental fog depression gaining weight & couldn’t loss weight so finally I got blood work my thyroid stopped working 100% and thank god I do not have hashimoto but my thyroid needs help which they are taking care of I gave them your info they said you were 100% thank you for educating me
Thank you Dr. Berry for the test link. The extended Thyroid Hashimoto panel test results gave me the answer I needed. If not for the chance to get those tests ASAP because of the link, it would have cost me more than twice the amount of time for a consultation and follow up appointment.
Why can’t all doctors be like you? My own Endocrinologist won’t even perform all of these tests even though I’ve requested it. It’s so frustrating to continually feel terrible but since my “numbers look good” everything is perfect. I wish more doctors would listen to their patient rather than just the numbers that come back on a basic blood panel. I have literally told him I feel more symptomatic than ever, despite being on two medications but he chooses not to hear me. I am not OKAY
I had to go to a hormone specialist because my primary care dr refused to test! Now on LDN to lower extremely high antibodies-was diagnosed with hashimotos and went gluten free (hate it). Was able to lose 25 lbs but not any more in a year 😳
I have had several symptoms for years and my doctor always says my Thyroid is normal. Come to find out, he was only running a TSH test. Asked for a full thyroid panel last year, he only ordered 3 tests... This week, I printed out the full panel and gave it to him. He was beyond annoyed with me and said it was “overkill”. 🙄
Michelle Stafford and he would be very ignorant regarding Hashimotos and its management. Your TSH can be in normal range but you still feel all the symptoms. Go to someone that understands the full panel is necessary. I went through 8 years of pure hell because my doctors were ignorant of adequate testing and treatment.
Thanks doc! I think some docs will also not order additional tests because they stick to the tests that insurance covers... ends up just being TSH, unless one has symptoms. Sadly by the time symptoms show the thyroid may have already suffered damage.
Wow , thank you, very disappointed in my doctor for overlooking my symptoms and not helping me, I think I’ll be upset forever with how alone I feel right now
There needs to be more awareness about this! Most people have never even heard of this before. idk I kinda feel like all Dr’s (not just specialist) should have to be certified in this specifically .That and they should be added to yearly bloodwork.
@DrKenDBerry would you please consider a video about keto without gall bladder & if it causes lipomas (I've grown a TON) plus what to do about them?? PLEASE!
I am a man who was diagnosed finally after 6 yrs of fighting with doctors to give me the right tests. They did the main test, said I had Hypothyroidism and then put me on levothyroxine and did adjustments from time to time, but it never helped me. Then I had to move to another state 4 yrs ago and I finally found a doctor that would do all of the tests and then I got the diagnosis of Hashimoto's. The doctor here still wanted to see if levothyroxine would still work for me and gave me a higher dose and then a higher one, still no good results. After 2 yrs of this, she put me on Armor and I still am having issues. She just added a levothyroxine low does to my armor and have been doing that for about 8 months now, But I am still not getting any good results. I have pretty much come to realize that I am going to feel like this for the rest of my life. I don`t know what else could be done. Is there anything else to try? I guess I`m just a tough case
Have you tried doing LCHF/Keto/Carnivore yet? It helps to minimize the symptoms. Mine have lessen a lot but I still have dry skin and hair loss, less frequent of cold intolerance and memory problems. I'm happy that I no longer have fatigue or brain fog but I hope I can fix the rest of the symptoms in the long run.
I have every one of these symptoms but with a 30 lb weight loss in 6 wks & with a enlarged right thyroid that is visible. I've have had 2 ultrasounds on neck & liver. Liver enzymes are elevated, thyroid is larger than normal , 3 rounds of labs & shows high levels of inflammation each time & Dr still tells me he doesn't know what's causing any of it. I've asked him for these specific tests & he told me there was no need for that because the tests he ordered was a thyroid count & the levels were normal Since that Dr visit 2 months ago, I've dropped another 6 lbs & I cannot get any help or answers & honestly started getting scared because all of the symptoms that come with this are getting worse. Thanks for sharing this video I hope others are able to get some help from this
@@Teewriter My Dr don't seem to think so, he even went as far as saying "you could have cancer, but I can't find where it's coming from" Scared me to death but still no answers. I wrote down these labs & am going to demand he run these! Thank you for your comment! 😍
I have been having all these symptoms since about 13 years ago, T he DRs. do a blood test and every year keep saying 'you dont seem to have a thyroid problem... the blood tests are normal I don:t know what to tell you." My neck started to swell up...the weight gain was frustrating. Whenevr I ate I had to drink to get residual food down my throat. 2 yrs ago I went to a new endocrinologist who was again sending me for regular blood tests... told him i have one i did 4 mths ago,,,I asked him if we could look at somethin else since, I have been doing the test for the last 12 years or so..stared at me blankly...so i said could we look at Hashimo? He said : but thats rare! I asked I f we could do it anyway. H said the test wasn't available in Jamaica,, I said then if I have to go overseas I can. then he said there is a lab that would take it up by courier,,,I sad yes. Did the tests for both local and overseas ...2 mths later they called me in and said I tested positive for hashimoto,,,but the regular tests still showed everything normal. did a thyroidectomy a year ago since then I have gotten so sick.
I found out I had a form of hypothyroidism as a result of being referred to a dermatologist for an autoimmune skin condition. She said that this condition was often linked to hypothyroidism and told my GP I should have annual thyroid function tests. Lo and behold, within a couple of years my thyroid function started to deteriorate, and I was started on a small dose of levothyroxine. It increased over the years, was static for a time and was recently raised to 1.25 micrograms a day. I think it's actually still a bit on the low side. But as a small plus the National Health Service considers this to be a life-threatening disease, so since my mid 40s I have not had to pay a penny for any prescription medication which I have for a range of medical conditions.
Dr. Barry, I just don't understand why a doctor wouldn't just run a full panel on all their patients. It makes no damn sense to me. I had to almost threaten my doctor before she would run the panel and she was the THIRD doctor I had gone to for help! I finally ordered and paid for a full thyroid panel and it shows my T4 is way under the "norm" and my TSH is actually on the high side when you go by what current Endo docs say (a TSH above a 2.0 is considered to be high, folks!). Truth is, by the time your TSH is at a 5.0, your thyroid is basically decimated! When a doctor refuses to order a full thyroid panel that could save your thyroid, it comes off as willful misconduct and seems like they want it that way! Can't make any money off a healthy patient!
The other thing I think people don’t realize with Hashimoto’s and thyroiditis is that you can be hypothyroidism but spill out thyroid hormone in inconsistent amounts. Causing intervals of sweating tachycardia and freezing cold.
Was diagnosed with this a month ago, and put on Synthroid. Had to come off it, because it made every symptom exponentially worse, inflammation to the point where it hurt to walk, and had a headache that varied from low grade to pounding constantly, horrifying weight gain (all in a month!). Now accepting that this is probably going to be a rough year. C'est la vie.
NorthOn60, not necessarily. You can follow a healthy diet, avoid milk, milk products, wheat and any other allergens. It will help you to decrease inflammation.
Dr. Berry: Thanks for sharing your amazing expertise. I am 48 years old male with 138 lb weight. I am experiencing periodic severe fatigue since last year . My doc did TSH and Free T4 which are 0.67 and 0.77 respectively. He is telling me I am healthy man but in reality I feel weak and fatigue impacting my performance everywhere. I would appreciate for your advice.
Hello..You might want to get your iron and ferritin levels checked as well as vitamin D, zinc, selenium and B12. I found getting these levels up helped me feel much better.
Thank you Dr Ken I will bring this up to my doctor my thyroid levels are low and I'm hoping it's not Hashimoto but I believe it is I have many of these symptoms
I have been taking Armour Thyroid for a long time and don't have any symptoms anymore. Wish I could stop taking it( I don't like to take medications) but my doctors agree that I should not stop taking it.
I have Hashimotos and I can tell when my meds need adjusting. I have another weird sign besides the ones talked about, my inner ears itch like something crazy when my levels are off. I've heard of some others with Hashimotos that get the way too. The keto diet has really helped with my Hashimotos. I know I need to go dairy free but I'm seriously addicted to cheese lol I'll have to slowly ween myself off of it.
mine do that sometimes too. itch and random ringing like tinnitus. I read that the itching can be from too much yeast, candida, in the body. The thyroid effects the endocrine system, insulin production. So I can see the link when sugar levels are increased, that feeds the yeast.
Thank you so much for this video Dr. Berry. So, is there any hope of ever getting past this disorder? I've been trying for years, after it took me years and many dr's to discover it. I even got literally thrown out of one Dr's office for "wasting his time"!!
Just got diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I needed ALL those labs to get it diagnosed. No other doctor would do them for me. I have been off of gluten for 10 years, but my insurance does not cover the RX that are gluten free! My doctor requested the prescription with a note "must be gluten free" but the pharmacist got it wrong and I took the RX for 4 days before I figured it out. So the gluten was actually causing my body to attack my thyroid even worse than before! Now I have to try to get an exception for the one that is certified gluten free, or have them suggest one that is at least not made with gluten ingredients that they will cover. This sucks. I thought I would be on the way to feeling better by now.
All my test they have said my thyroid is fine… but I will ask for these test… just to be sure… thank U Dr Berry.. I do not have any of these… maybe once in a blue moon I’ll have one or the other..
I have had Hashimoto’s for 8 years. My most recent test says I’m still within the range to not require medication. My hair is falling out bad and the symptoms you stated are on point. I liked what you said about fatigue!! I’m like, Yep, that’s me! I want to want to. Every day I say I’m going to, but I don’t. My skin is SO DRY. I call it alligator skin. I couldn’t lose weight either. Well, I lost 16 on keto, but due to a gallbladder attack I had to stop. I found whole food plant based eating and have effortlessly lost 25 !! 10 more pounds to be in a good range. It’s the best thing since sliced bread lol. I’ve told my story here so many times and I just can’t tell it all again. No thyroid since 1977 due to goiter and.Hashimoto’s after birth of baby so it was removed. Didn’t take Synthroid for 10 yrs afteir surgery. Felt great, looked great. Had another baby then started back on Synthroid and I’m a mess ever since. . Now I have psoriasis and eczema that are driving me insane. I don’t have most symptoms but have enough.
You must still have a thyroid and perhaps they took out a nodule. Without a thyroid and no medication, you would have passed away. Hashimoto's can rage through your body even if a thyroid is removed. My eczema went away when I cut out flour products and used hydrocortisone cream.
Thank you 🙏🏻 for this knowledge. I have sooo many of these symptoms. Doctors can’t find crap. But I need to tell them the test to order now I know. 👍🏼😁
Dr. Berry, I was diagnosed in my early 30s at 104 lbs with hypothyroidism.....The doctor did a tsh test because we wanted to get pregnant. 20 years later when we retired in my husband's country of Thailand they diagnosed me with Hashimoto,s, (is this possible)but have me taking a thyroid medication I am sure is just t4. Euthyrox. I have been tired my whole life, and still get up exhausted and my motor doesn't get going until mid morning.
My daughter had this but not until she had surgery on her thyroids. a couple of days later she had to have emergency surgery and that’s when they told her what she had . You are describing. My symptoms . However I am tested every year my fibroids and has always coming back normal
If you are that tired I would suggest an ebv test as well. Just my opinion but I'm hypothyroid and have had ebv four documented times and I'm sure many other times. It is exhausting like nothing else I've experienced.
Thank you so much! I just sent my doctor a message asking for the labs. I honestly thought all of these symptoms was part of the aging process and that I just have to deal with them. The brain fog, being exhausted and the dryness are unbearable! I'm very curious to know if I have Hashi's! I appreciate you sharing this info! Thank YOU!!!!
So, I am EXACTLY who you describe. My TSH Free T4, reverse T3 all normal or just a little off (on thyroid medication.) My antibodies are still through the roof. My doctor does not really care, and I can find NO information on bringing those down. How about a video on that?
I have all these symptoms. I have a tumor on my adrenal gland also. My Mother and my sister have a thyroid disorder. I was scheduled to have all my glandular systems tested in March. Because of the Covid virus all the doctor's office's are closed. Could it be possible for me to have a combination of disorders? My physicalist is the one that told me that I needed the test. I have so much respect for you and your information you share. Thank you so much. Be safe and blessed.
Can you please tell me what kind a test are you going to do? My 10 year old son got diagnosed with type 1 diabetic and on top it with hyperthyroidism several months ago. I lost my trust on conventional doctors since they only put you on meds... without even doing more testing to find the root of the diseases..... his doctor told me no need to do more testing since it is going to cost the insurance a lot!!!!!!!!!! I got so upset, I am paying for insurance and this is my child's life I do not care about the money.... that is why I am keep studying and looking for alternative or holistic treatments. Stay safe
Yes you can have more than one thing going on a one time. Hasimoto’s is autoimmune and very often two different types of autoimmune diseases can occur in one person. Also be aware that B12 deficiency is common with Hasimoto’s as well.

Dr Berry, would you consider creating a beginner's keto recipe list? I've been trying to go keto for a while now but cannot find enough recipes to replace my current diet, and I believe such a database would assist many newcomers.

Dr Berry, Is a TPO Ab test the same as a Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody test ? Is a TG Ab test the same as a Tissue TransGlutaminase Antibody test?

35 years of Hashimotos here. Get on natural dedicated thyroid. It changed my life.
The dr said all about the symptoms and needed tests but never about the remedies. What was yiur remedies please ?

We're you able to get treatment?
Me too! That's why I couldn't get diagnosed for so many years. You have to push these dumb doctors or else you will never get better.
I have Hashimoto’s and have the most problems with gut issues. Anybody else?
Your intuition is correct. Thyroid issues are a gut issue. Dr. E the NP with a PHD has the best video on treating the cause, and not just the symptoms. I wish you well on your journey to health!
I have this & I was never told any of this.
Gluten and dairy free was the only way for me to eliminate all gut issues. Plus a daily probiotic. Good luck to you!
Had it and then it became cancer. I was told it was depression for YEARS. Take GOOD care of you thyroid folks.
Did you have nodules and did you get a biopsy or just taken out?
What did you do to correct the issue?
After so many years of bad doctors. I finally got one to do the right labs. Boy, was I right! I knew something was very wrong with my thyroid. These doctors are playing with so many lives!
Thank you, Doctor Berry, for educating people. God bless you!!

Jean.
@@AMDG_-nk2dp thank you for this!!!
My wife has hashimoto’s and I have hypothyroidism (unknown cause). The Keto diet has given us a new lease on life. We barely survived the sleep deprivation of children, which highlighted other underlying food sensitivities and health issues. Keto has been a true life changer for us.
So what exactly is keto doing for you? I heard keto can mess your thyroid up. I actually just started keto
Keto tanked my libido. How did it regulate yours?
I was diagnosed in 2007 with Hypothyroidism and Hashimotos in 2019. My endocrinologist gave me diet pills to help with weightloss. Fast forward, I didn't lose any weight.
❤
My Dr asked me how I was feeling in general. I told him crappy. He said it's because my thyroid count was 16. I'm thankful I have a Doctor who is genuinely concerned about my health. Sometimes diet alone doesn't help.
Because of your videos and what lab tests to do, my sister was definitively diagnosed with Hashimotos
Doc? 11 days on keto hypothyroid my thyroid was swollen for YEARS it's NOT SWOLLEN anymore on day 11! Yippee
i’m sitting here watching this and reading through the comments and it actually feels like i can breath out better again to know i’m not alone. i’m really young to have this disease i’m currently 21 and got diagnosed a year ago at the age of 20. not only have i got this i also have a nodular goitre and i honestly feel like garbage constantly. my doctor isn’t the best but because i’m in the uk all responses in regards this is the same. ive been put on medication but it’s not working and i have a scan tomorrow to see if surgery is needed. it’s scary and stressful (which doesn’t help with the symptoms from both diagnoses if anything it makes them worse). im just so thankful and relieved to here that i’m not alone in this and i’m thankful for all the comments as well as it’s made me see that there is so many people going through the same feelings and symptoms as me that with this disease it’s “normal”. my family aren’t the most supportive in regards my illnesses cuz they can’t see it and i also am a single mum of a 2 year old so they see me having these illnesses as my excuse to moan but to hear that it’s not just in my head is so relieving to say the least. massive thank you xxx

I'm praying for your healing in Jesus' Name, Jen...🙋🏼♀️🙏🏻✝️
Can you have Hashimoto when y you have thyroid cancer
I had to tell my doctor that I didn’t give a ....(expletive) what her TSH, T3 and T4 was going to say because they were going to be fine but, I had the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. This is after talking to several doctors about my potential thyroid problem for 10 years! She did TPO and bingo! It was elevated! She called me home and told me: “You’re right!”
Try keto
Look into AIP diet, lowered my antibodies to normal levels within 3 months
Marcela A How do you feel? Was it hard?
@@marcelaa9498 were you able to lose weight on this diet ?
My TPO antibodies are going down after I stopped all dairy from cows and taking vitamin D3 supplements.
Look forward to visit with endocrinologist!
how did it go?
He did nothing about the Hashi but put me on Levothyroxin then switched to Armour but my symptoms remain same! Not fun!
@@VeldaE12 ok. Try keto or carnivore. Its helping me
Harry I’ve been keto since 2017 and carnivore since 2019!
Don't forget your nascent iodine for your proper thyroid health
I”m so sorry the Hashimoto’s was so bad! My husband has it, too; he’s 61 years old. I’m glad you’re both on Synthroid now.
Thanks! So appreciate Hashimotos information!
So very glad for you❤
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease for 25 years have been taking Thyroid medications for that long and still have same symptoms....I’ve been eating a keto diet since October 2019 have not lost any weight. I’ve gained 80 lbs since 1995 and can not get it off with keto. I’m now seeing an endocrinologist and a naturalpathic dr who switched me over to a pork thyroid....so will be asking endocrinologist about these tests you mentioned. Thanks for this video!
I am on Armor Thyroid 60 mg. It has saved my life!
If you still have the symptoms how can you say your dr is treating your disease?
Because the treatment does not make the anti bodies go away. The immune system is still attacking the thyroid gland and this causes symptoms as well.
How?
Symptoms:
Brain Fog
Fatigue
Greatly decreased sex drive/libido
Change in mental health: depressed, anxious, feelings of borderline psychosis, complete personality change
Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
Irregular menstrual cycles and/or infertility
Cold intolerance: feeling cold when others in the room are comfortable
Dry skin, nails, and hair
Testing:
TSH
Free T4
Free T3
Reverse T3
TPO antibody
TG antibody
Thank you
Wish I knew what these tests are called in Canada.
So good!! Took me almost 20 years to find a Dr. that understood this disease!

Keep going

What iodine do you take and how much? Thanks

Hyrunnisa totally agree 👏👏👏 I have hypothyroidism and the same symptoms as you and cutting gluten and carbs has been a radical game changer.
I’m in the process of begging my doctor to do the additional testing. @@rhondaw5615 I hope you find a good doctor and get some help for your symptoms.
Seeing my doctor this Friday and I hope she will order the tests. Have every single symptom you described. Thanks for all the info!
Asking your doc is different than getting them to order the lab tests....my experience. Very frustrating.
Yeah. I asked and I got the standard test, (TSH, T4) refusing to do more than that because he said it wasn't needed unless those numbers were off..
I've had all of these symptoms for years except for weight problems, though going keto has reversed much of my brain fog and fatigue. :/
I don't think I can convince my doctor to do full proper test..
김나리 exactly the same response
You guys can order your own labs, right? I think there are only a handful of states that do not allow this.
Google something like "private blood labs" and you'll find a ton of results for sites that allow you to order your own blood tests. You'll have to pay, but depending on how important it is to you to get the results, it can be well worth it!

Thanks for making this. I have always been scared to ask for this from my doctors because they always assume I just need to change my diet or I was a brand new mom. But I know there is something more underlying. So thanks for giving me the tools to ask.
I’m so happy I found your channel I’ve learned a lot I’ve had these symptoms for a year right after I caught Covid in 2022 but I figured it was long term Covid with hair loss skin rashes but I got worse with fatigue mental fog depression gaining weight & couldn’t loss weight so finally I got blood work my thyroid stopped working 100% and thank god I do not have hashimoto but my thyroid needs help which they are taking care of I gave them your info they said you were 100% thank you for educating me
Great video Doc! I'm looking forward to the follow-up video on your strategies to improve Hashimoto's!!
Find another doctor. You are paying for his services.
Go to a natural path doctor and get tested.
I had to go to a hormone specialist because my primary care dr refused to test! Now on LDN to lower extremely high antibodies-was diagnosed with hashimotos and went gluten free (hate it). Was able to lose 25 lbs but not any more in a year 😳
How are you doing now?
Change doctors!!
Can be literally impossible to change docs in chinaduh
80% of immunity is in the gut. Heal your gut and in a few months you should be doing much better.
@Paul Mobarry Yes heal leaky gut. Bone broth
Thanks for sharing this video I hope others are able to get some help from this
Dann'elleOfTheSouth You can lose weight on Hashimoto’s without trying, I did.
@@Teewriter My Dr don't seem to think so, he even went as far as saying "you could have cancer, but I can't find where it's coming from" Scared me to death but still no answers. I wrote down these labs & am going to demand he run these! Thank you for your comment! 😍
I would be looking for another doctor. Good luck.
My 14 year old was diagnosed and we always feel the same. So I asked my dr to test me and I had it also.
Very informative, especially the lab work to request. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I have been synthroid for over 10 years and my doctor never mentioned Hashimoto's. Thank you for the info
Just diagnosed today after blood work and symptoms
Thanks Dr. Berry !!!! This was EXTREMELY Helpful! 😊😊😊
I agree, avoid gluten and lactose. Auto-immune = Leaky gut.
WOW!!! That leads to a number of things I’ve observed in my life.
Homeschool Mama of 12 Hi. My ears itch too, but I didn’t know it had anything to do with my Hashimoto’s. Good to know.
I can identify with the cheese addiction!! Good luck, I don't think I could give it up.
mine do that sometimes too. itch and random ringing like tinnitus. I read that the itching can be from too much yeast, candida, in the body. The thyroid effects the endocrine system, insulin production. So I can see the link when sugar levels are increased, that feeds the yeast.
OMG!! My inner ears itch like the dickens! I too am addicted to cheese and sour cream!
Was the RX Armour Thyroid
If interested check out The Starch Solution by Dr John McDougall, Chef AJ, Plant Strong by Rip Esselstyn, Dr Neal Barnard, Plantiful Kiki, Plant based by Jane Esselstyn etc. All are on TH-cam 💜
Another is sighing often. Knee reflex if no response is an easy one. Hypoglycemia, get hungry quickly and need protein quick so you can feel normal.
Excellent info. Ita like pulling teeth to get the doctor to order the full panel even when i give them the list of what i wanted tested.
Thank you, Dr. Berry. You described exactly the tests my drs did and did NOT perform.
How much was your TPOantibody?
Take vitamin d 10,000 iu per day
With vitamin k12 and magnesium supplement
I have all these symptoms. I have a tumor on my adrenal gland also. My Mother and my sister have a thyroid
disorder. I was scheduled to
have all my glandular systems tested in March.
Because of the Covid virus
all the doctor's office's are closed. Could it be possible
for me to have a combination of disorders?
My physicalist is the one that told me that I needed
the test. I have so much
respect for you and your
information you share.
Thank you so much. Be safe
and blessed.
