      Hey Eric I just read your comment and wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts. Sea moss is something that we have been using in the Caribbean for many generations. It may sound new to you, but to many people around the world it is not. Sea moss is harvested directly from the ocean like any other seaweed. Did you even attempt to look up information on sea moss before posting your comment? I think you should. This is nothing new at all. I clicked on your youtube channel to see if you had more info that I can learn from. Unfortunately, all I found was 8 subscribers, many subscriptions, no face, and no uploads. I actually like to know who I am talking to. I dont mind having a discussion and I dont expect for everyone to agree with me. However, all I showed in the video was how to make sea moss gel. You actively made a choice to click on this video, then comment. Why dont you do some research on sea moss. I think you will find what you are looking for. Just because you just happened to find out about it and are skeptical does not make it bullshit. Whatever bullshit you are smelling is the product of your own ignorance. I agree that a lot of things on youtube may be questionable, but to discredit something that you have no idea about is a little ignorant on your part. It's cool though. If you every want to talk to me and find out more about sea moss and why I promote it, just send me a message at www.caribsunsations.com and leave a contact number so that we can have a conversation on the topic of sea moss. I doubt you will do so, but I am just putting it out there. This not something that I invented or manufactured. It is a type of algae that grows wild in the ocean. It is mineral rich and does wonders for the human body. I started taking sea moss back in the late 1990's/early 2000's. I became vegetarian 2006 and vegan 2009. I train MMA fighters for a living and when it is time to cut weight for fight camp, I put them on a plant based diet, and they consume sea moss before and after training. My school is called Spartan Martial Arts & Fitness. Just google it or type it in facebook, Instagram, or here on youtube and our other page will pop up. You are entitled to your opinion sir, but please understand that when you make comments stating that something is bullshit, all that I ask is that you say why? Have a reason for it and stand by that reason until proven wrong. Anyway, I have wasted enough energy on you already so I must go, but if you want more info, I am happy to point you in the right direction. If not, then just miss me with the bullshit and have a wonderful day. 💪🏾😁👍🏾

      @@DENIEL381 if you have been involved in veganism and Martial arts since the 1970, how do you not know about sea moss. I understand that it is your opinion, and you are entitled to it. However, as far as something making front page news because it works is just not a true statement at all. What can be regulated, monitored, and controlled makes front page news in regards to health. You will never see a cure for anything on the main stream news outlets. It is not in the vested interests of the medical industry. Pills and procedures are what is pushed. Nothing wrong with that though. If I get in a car accident and my leg is bent the wrong way, then give me the pills and perform the procedure to get me right again. Then I will take my herbs, and do my rehab accordingly and try to regain my health and mobility back. It is the daily pills and over indulgence in acidic foods that caused ones health suffer. I am not here to change your mind on anything. TH-cam is not perfect, but there is a lot of information here that can and has benefited people health wise. There are also a lot of people pushing products that do not work. What I like is that people can comment and share their opinions, thoughts, and personal experience with a product or service. Now I ask you, what is your experience with sea moss? Is it bullshit because you tried it and saw no benefit? Or are you like some people who think being vegan is not sustainable because you need protein, yet the people saying this have never been vegan for long or at all. Believe what you want, but if you think that getting your health info from major news outlets is the best, then we will just agree to disagree.

      @CaribSunsations  5 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      @@DENIEL381 Just because someone is vegan or plant based does not automatically make them healthy. There are many foods out there that vegans should not be eating. The question is what type of nutrients are in the food you consume daily, and how does it compliment your lifestyle. People who are very active cannot consume the same diet as someone who performs little to no physical activity at all. Veganism is not a cure all. Especially now with all of the heavily processed vegan foods. Just like you know people with ED who tried and failed going vegan, I know many that have corrected there issue. It has to be approached on a case by case basis. There is no cookie cutter formula for health. Each individual needs to find out there nutrition profile at the present time and see what issues may be contributing to the disfunction. I never tell people that sea moss is a cure all. However, it will help with many issues if done right and taken in conjunction with a nutrition plan that incorporates a whole food plant based diet whether the person is vegan or not. People who run to veganism to cure some disease often fail because of lack of discipline and misinformation based on there specific situation. They spend there whole life eating crap, then "Mr. Happy" is no longer rising to the occasion at year 30, 40, 50, etc., then they become vegan with limited knowledge and a boat load of information occupied with truth and falsehoods. Then it does not work right away and they say that "veganism" is the problem. No. Impatience, limited knowledge, and lack of proper information specific to the individuals condition and lifestyle is the problem. You can be vegan and still be sick. I know many vegans who eat a lot of junk and are sick all the time, but I also know some healthy ones. Likewise, I know many meat eaters who ar sick, and other meat eaters who get a lot of there nutrition from plant based foods and keep there meat consumption to a manageable level for them, and they are relatively healthy. But to say something does not work just because you think so is a but misleading to the people reading this. If what you are doing works for you then I wish you well sir. However, please understand that what I am doing works for me and I use my platform to am trying to help enlighten people on what is possible. If it is right for them, then cool. If not, then that is ok too. Just remember at the end of the day you came here and left a comment stating your opinion, but had no counter argument other than I know people. I did not come to you. If my topics do not interest you, then that is fine, but to say something is bullshit because you feel that way reflects back to the comment about ignorance that I left earlier. Anyway, I have a long day tomorrow and I won't be replying anymore. Thank you for your opinion even though I disagree. I will not delete or alter this in any way. It will stay as is. Have a great night and I wish you well.

      I really really appreciate that Carib. I have had a very WESTERN-upbringing in England with all the bad foods. In 2014 I found Dr Robert Morse and it was HIM that started me off knowing about ALKALINE EATING. I KNOW this is the ONLY real PATH for me, one of DISCIPLINE, namely. I was brought up with NO DISCIPLINE (as I had no father) so it has been HARD for me to tell myself to do anything, frankly. However, I take each day as a new opportunity to TRAIN myself to eat better. I hope I can unfog my Mind enough to share what I am finding at some point very soon as I know I can help others 'innerstand' how to move OUT of pain gradually, just through sharing my own experience. I had no idea I was even IN a body until 3 years ago and I am shocked I treated my own one so badly, now I know it's what I reside in. Slow learner, but a wonderful BLOSSOM when it arrives I am sure. ;) I appreciated your support so much. xx PS Also, I have always wondered energetically WHY I was born in Nigeria and things are slowly coming together for me in my understandings of that also. It's a GREAT time to be ALIVE, as if we are ever anything BUT! Ha! ;)

I expected all the tutorial videos to be done by white Irish people off the coast of Galway, so you can imagine my shock when almost ALL the videos were hosted by Jamaicans! I kept thinking “why are there so many Jamaicans interested in Irish Moss?!
    Turns out, the Irish brought the custom of eating seaweed to Jamaica a few hundred years ago, and the Jamaicans have kept the name ‘Irish moss’ (even though it’s Jamaican moss) ever since. Also, the Jamaican accents in all these videos definitely sound similar to the Irish accent.

Or would you have to add them separately? If so how much sea moss and bladderwrack would you recommend for a shake?

      Take them separately! Bladderwack has a very strong seaweed taste and smell to it. If you mix it in with a batch of Seamoss, you probably won't want to use the Sea Moss for smoothies and other recipes because of the taste. But definitely consume both as a combination, just separately.

    hello, love the video! i just wanted to know if boiling the seamoss in water makes it lose its nutritional value? i typically boil it along with 2 cinnamon sticks and I’m not sure if it allows for the best use. please let me know. thank you!🦋🦋

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My brothers and sisters in the raw food community may say that it loses nutritional value when boiled. It is very possible that they are correct. However, I have felt benefits from both methods. I tell people to do what is convenient for them. The key is consistency over a period of time. Some people need to boil the sea moss because they do not have a blender powerful enough to blend the sea moss to a smooth consistency. In our house we use both methods. I think that we consume so much sea moss that at this point I don't think it matters. (My personal opinion). Its more about the long term benefits for me. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions just let me know. Thanks

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually us a 1-1 ratio as a rule of thumb. However, depending on what you are using it for will determine if you use less or more water. If you want a thicker gel, then use less water. If you want a thinner gel, then use more. The 1 cup moss to 1 cup water is a good starting point though. :)

    plz explain why sum use gum Arabic, cinnamon coconut milk, I even seen sweet condensed milk and isinglass.. does these things mess it up?

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In my opinion Yes it does. They use these things for taste, preservation, and potency. Isinglass has its benefits, but since I stopped consuming all animal products and bi-products years ago, I had to stop using it as well. Cinnamon, and natural coconut milk is OK but consuming it on a tablespoon in the morning with a glass of room temp water right after is best. Gum Arabic is a binder. I am guessing people use this in the sea moss drink in order to keep anything from settling at the bottom. Hope this helps my brother.

      Great Questions!! Here goes...........
      1. We soak our sea moss for about 24 hours, but no more. reason being that when the sea moss is soaked too long, it gets really soft and will just fall through the cracks of the strainer and down the drain. We prefer to soak the ones that we buy from other people or companies just to see if there is any debris that needs to be removed. We usually harvest it ourselves when we have access.
      2. In this video we had about 9 cups of soaked sea moss in the blender mug, then filled up the water to the half way point of the sea moss.
      3. We soak ours outside of the refrigerator, in a glass jar or bowl. (No plastic!!! )
      4. I am not sure why they would not soak the sea moss overnight, unless they harvested it themselves. I'm sure they have reasons for what they say. we still do it because when we begin to clean the sea moss, we see all sorts of dirt and ocean debris on the bottom of the bowl or jar.
      I hope this answers your questions, and if you have any more, feel free to contact us. Thank you :)
