    Always use lime or lemon to clean the seamoss, it helps with the "fishy" smell

    I love the idea - and I'll say if the entire jar is being consumed by a whole family within a week or so, then this should work perfectly. Otherwise, 1 jar will not be good for 2-3 weeks, the sea moss, yes, but not once mixed with the fruit itself... the fruit will start going bad within 4-5 days once mixed with the sea moss, sure, airtight containers may help it last longer - maybe 8 - 10 days, but even when refrigerated unless you add preservatives, no chance it goes 2-3 weeks. You are better off making the sea moss gel on its own and then adding it to fresh sliced fruits or smoothies.

    Great video! I read that eating 1 to 2 tablespoon of sea moss per day is sufficient for our body. If I were to eat a whole container of that infused fruit sea moss would it be to much ?

    • @GoodFoodBaddie
      @GoodFoodBaddie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! Yes, it may be a bit much. Mostly because sea moss is high in the essential mineral iodine, which should always be consumed in moderation. Consuming too much iodine can lead to health complications

      I like to juice my ginger & turmeric root.
      Then add the juice to very thick sea moss Gel very little water-as the root juice changes the viscosity

    Do adding fruit make the sea moss go bad faster because some fruit do not last 3-4 weeks?

    • @michelles2834
      @michelles2834 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I'm thinking, it's good for 3-4 weeks without fruit, its probably only good for 1-2 weeks.

    Great video. Cant wait to try making my own. I do have a couple of questions:
    1) video mentions it keeps for 3-4 weeks however the description says 2-3 weeks. Just wanting to double check which is correct. If 2-3 weeks Id probably make smaller batch to start
    2) soaking step is 12-24 hrs. Ive seen other vids where it suggest just 2 hrs or so to soak where 24 my be too long. Does that depend on the type of moss where some may break down more quickly?

    • @GoodFoodBaddie
      @GoodFoodBaddie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, I updated the caption to reflect a more accurate shelf life. 2-3 weeks is typical for fruit infused sea moss. And I would highly recommend soaking your sea moss for 12 hours minimum
