  • Brazil nut milk with sea moss and hemp seeds is one of my favorite meal replacement shakes.
    Ingredients:
    1 cup of Brazil nuts (soaked in spring water overnight)
    3 cups of spring water, or coconut water
    *Blend in a high speed blender for 30 seconds. Process the blender contents in a nut milk bag and glass bowl. Rinse blender and pour liquid back in.
    Add:
    1 cup of mango
    1/4 cup of hemp seeds
    4 pitted dates
    2-4 tablespoons of sea moss gel
    1/8 teaspoon of vanilla been or 1/2 tsp of vanilla powder
    1/2 banana
    Maple syrup to taste
    Optional:
    1/4 tsp of cinnamon
    pinch of sea salt

    I am an American living in the West Indies. I just love Sea Moss Drink. Comes in a glass bottle. We have three choices here. With Linseed (my favorite) or Peanut.
    Thankfully I live in Florida half the year and have a lot of Caribbean stores where hopefully I can buy the Sea Moss. It is SOOO delicious.

    Why did you remove the flesh from the nut? Just for consistency in the shake?
    Can I replace Brazil nut with pumpkin seeds instead?

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Nuts and seeds are your friend. Also you can add avocados to make a thicker shake. Garden burgers are great also and anything that contains chickpeas and sea moss.

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Bulking up on a plant based lifestyle has its benefits and drawbacks. However, there are far more benefits. One thing that I noticed personally was when I switched from power lifting and body building to mixed martial arts training years ago. I could not carry the weight that I previously did. I was doing too much cardio to maintain the mass. The benefit to that, however, was the fact that I could do more with my body as far as speed and flexibility. I did not notice a loss in strength either. In fact, my strength increased. I don't lift weights as often as I used to, but I am able to maintain the strength that I had for my working sets. I don't do max sets anymore. This is just a part of my story but I do understand that guys love the bulky muscular look. These days I tend to go by how I feel and I am in the best shape of my life due to good nutrition and proper exercise. I will be posting some workout videos here and on the channel for my school Spartan Martial Arts and Fitness soon. It is geared more towards toning and performance workouts though.

      I used to compete in local power lifting competitions and became a personal trainer in the late 1990's. My workouts now are more functional training and martial arts based. I will be posting videos on my other channel pertaining to workouts, martial arts, and fitness. I do not lift heavy as often as I used to but I do a lot of body weight training, yoga, gymnastics, cycling, tree and rock climbing, etc.

    Is this a good shake for weight gain ? I’m looking for an alkaline way to put on mass

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes but not as much as the lab developed chemicals sold in fitness stores. Your body has a way of naturally regulating itself. I was 200lb solid muscle(so I thought). However, my bones and joints were always in pain. Dropped 50 pounds through herbs and fasting but after a while, I did not feel healthy anymore. Began introducing more nuts, seeds and grains to compliment my plant based lifestyle and now I am between 170 and 180 pounds depending on how hard my MMA training was that week. If I were go go back to just lifting weights, I think I could gain back the weight I lost. However for me, combat sports and bulky muscle do not go together well. I perform better now. If I were to take the chemicals again, I could gain back the weight despite my body trying to balance to an ideal weight for my workload. Hope this long winded answer gives a better Idea. Your question is not as simple as a Yes or No. It depends on your body type. 💪👍

    Thanks for putting out this information. Will Sea moss help to detoxify the colon/stomach? If so, about how long should i use sea moss as a meal?

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +koolkokujin7015 Sea moss is great for stomach issues because of its ability to gather and absorb foreign materials within the body. It also helps to soothe an inflamed colon and intestinal track and soften stools for easier elimination via bowel movement. Start off with 1 tbsp in the morning of the gel followed by 16-32oz of spring water at room temperature. At night take 1 tbsp with 8-16oz of water. This is what we do along with putting it in our recipes. No intestinal issues and bowels are always easy. Once you feel the issue go away, you can cut back on the sea moss if you would like. Hope this helps. If you try this please keep us up to date. Peace and love 👍

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the only seeds that we recommend blending without straining are hemp seeds. Nuts like almonds, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, etc. should be blended first and strained. This makes it easier to digest. Too much can cause stomach issues.

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Nolan Shaw You are correct. Dr. Sebi removed maple syrup from his list. As a matter of fact a lot of items that were once on his list have been removed, and if he was alive today I am sure he would have modified the list again. His list was intended to be a guide to assist people taking his herbal compounds or looking to follow a more alkaline lifestyle. If you are currently taking his therapy package then I recommend that you follow his latest nutritional guide like we did. Even Dr. Sebi did not follow his own guide all the time. He has publicly stated that he ate fish occasionally. This was prior to his last fast before he passed away. This does not take away from his greatness and I thank him for everything that he has done for me and my family, however our channel is intended to assist people in making a smooth transition from meat based to plant based.

    Do you store in the refrigerator or on the counter?

      We keep ours in the refrigerator if we are consuming it in recipes. If we are using it topically (face mask, hair conditioner etc.) then we leave it out, but only for a couple of days.

    Do you know any alternative formula for babies that I could make for my 6month old? He has really bad eczema and I bought some seamoss, I'm just not sure how I can give it to him! He's on formula and I wanted to make him a more healthier but has all the nutrients he'll need, daily milk.

    How long can prepared sea moss keep in the fridge? After I washed mine it still smelled like the sea, is that OK?

      Aniya di Lioness It will smell like the sea but trust it won’t taste like the sea. It doesn’t have a taste when u add to dishes. Actually you can eat it after washing it off in salads as some people do where I live in the islands. You can also just taste a small piece and you’ll see it doesn’t have a taste. I tried it so I can attest to that.
      I’m not sure how long for fridge life because I don’t keep it around long as a gel but I’ve had the plant in fridge for about a week which I place the plant directly in pot to cook with quinoa, mushrooms after I’ve sautéed and add some water to make a thick sauce, Sebi approved herb teas etc.. and it’s still good.

    Some videos show cooking the sea moss after soaking it, do you recommend this?

    • @CaribSunsations
      @CaribSunsations  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is OK. Some people boil the sea moss without soaking also. I have tried all methods but the one I prefer is soaking it overnight. If I am short on time, I will boil it but we try to always plan ahead.

      Also Dr. Sebi said that if you cook electrical food and it burns it is still alive. Of course he mentioned olive oil and coconut oil is not to be heated. I add it to food in it’s cooling down phase.
