I was introduced to the Midnight through this song. It was the video that had the Breakfast Club....listening to this song, watching scenes from TBC just took me back. I was hooked on the band. The thing about this song was it kinda took me back to when we thought we'd live forever and never get old...I'm 49 now, I remember when I thought 49 was "old". We were ten feet tall and bulletproof (forever in full bloom), we did crazy things, we stayed up all night, the mall was our home every weekend, we were falling in and out of love...and the only thing that mattered was our friends. The things we thought were problems back then just seem so trivial now. We were chasing dreams and the world was so big... "We'll know better when we're older..." Sometimes...sometimes I wish we didn't know better.

Your comment was awesome! I also grew up with the mall as my home on the weekends. My dad would take me and a friend or a couple friends. I'm 44 years old and I still find comfort in malls. Haha. It's the nostalgia of them.

The midnight is the band that helped me deal with a lot of the unresolved emotions that I was dealing with. In a way the midnight helped me get a sense of closure. But now, 2 years later I discovered you and as I watch you being transported back to the moment you wish would have been different, I am sitting here and reliving the same moments wishing I could have done something different or maybe if I were never even born. Love how you keep on increasing the production work on your vids. This is 100% my favorite song by the Midnight. I drove down almost the entirety of CA route 1 a few months back, top down with the sun setting over the ocean and my 6 year old son riding shotgun. We blasted this tune on repeat, both of us singing along. Really just an incredible song.

Every time I hear this, I'm transported back to college, where I was revising for my final semester. Opened TH-cam, plugged in my headphones, listened to some music and was introduced to a track called "The Midnight - Memories'. Clicked and the rest is History. First time hearing synthwave, or new retro wave. Can't live without it now. The part where you described it as a track to say goodbye resonates with me. That was what I felt as I heard its tunes and as I glaced ard the school library, realising that that part of my life was coming to an end. It's only been 3 years but college life felt like a lifetime ago. It's nice to revisit that memory.
I wish I could watch the Midnight live one day! Their music is perfection. Their music touches the strings of your heart and their music help you reach that zen state that no many other genres can achieve.

I was born in 1979 and lucky to have grown up in the 80's I still live and feel those days man! Sythwave brings back all those memories! And have so many thought going through my mind and emotions it feels amazing but sometimes sad that I can't relive those moments 😔 absolutely love that you react while driving at night! God, taken me a month to find the courage to watch this one, man. This for me is one of those songs that I can't just put on, I have to be in a very specific mindset or I'll be thrown off kilter for the rest of the day. Seeing your reaction is kind of comforting, to see someone else's catharsis and know that it's the same kind of pain/healing that you're going through. I dunno, it's very Mercer from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
Listening to this makes me think about my past, about the people no longer in my life whether they're exes, people who have passed away or simply moved on to a life that I am no longer a part of. That comes with its own sting. But more than that, I think about how these days I'm living now with my friends, family and significant others will too one day become distant memories. That's more than a sting, that's a sword to the heart.

I love this song, The Midnight is my favorite band. It's hard to explain to my family since this genre makes me feel melancholy, but like there is something more out there that we can discover if we are open too it
Just perfect 👌 I almost have to play this song everytime I'm driving back home. I live next to a dual carriage way (A3) in London. Its a 50mph stretch just perfect for cruising after midnight hardly any other cars around.
I absolutely love The Midnight. This is one of my favorite tracks from Endless Summer, along with “Crockett’s Revenge” (which is very sax heavy and I recommend if you haven’t already listened to it :D).

I love The Midnight! This song, every time I listen to it, I'm taken back to a time I truly found love. We met through the internet and we'd video chat every day all day, and most nights we'd stay up til the sun came up. My face would hurt so bad because I couldn't stop smiling with her. We'd talk about literally everything but mostly music. She would dance and I'd watch her and just be taken away. The way she moved was majestic, her smile, her hair swaying side to side and her hands moving around as she danced. We dated for nearly a year and then we had a falling out and separated. I tried to move on months later with someone else but just couldn't click. I missed the one I truly gave my heart to and will forever be in love with her. I recently wrote to her and found out she is with someone now and happy, but she even admitted she's still in love with me and the memories we shared will forever go on and live with her. She missed who we were and all the experiences we had together. My heart aches that someone else has her now...it truly hurts but I also am to blame for trying to move on from her instead of being honest with her and telling her I still loved her after our fallout. There will never be another woman for me like her. I will hold on to her in my heart til time stops and the stars fade. Forever and ever my love I will love you, Beatriz. Til time permits us again...

This song bring me back so far. The problem with me, is the way my brain processes my long term memories. I mean, 25 years ago still feels like yesterday. So much that in a heartbeat I wouldn't hesitate to go back in 85 using a time machine.
Todays technology didn't brought the happiness we thought it would. We need our social life back, a community life, a simplier life with no internet.

I don’t get emotional a lot watching movies but eternal sunshine really got to me .. always had a moment in my life back when I was in my teens and met that “first love” and got my heart broken .. wished I could wipe it from my mind but this film made me realize I really didn’t want that .. it made me who I am .. and now l look back at that moment with a much different mindset.. love this song by The Midnight also ..
