It’s the shuttle landing at the end ….. to me it signifies the “future” we were all brought up on. Working together as people as well as nations to search the stars and forward mankind. Never giving up… on not just yourself but one another. Teamwork, the greater good, kindness & friendship. The optimism that is missing from our lives and todays media was pouring out of that video. The adventure we all witnessed…. Hopefully one day, we’ll see this again. 😊
I've watched this video edit of Explorers so many times and it still moves me deeply, just as much as the first time I saw it. It perfectly encapsulates the ache and longing of nostalgia. Missing times that are only a memory now, growing more and more distant in the rearview mirror. Explorers is definitely in the top 5 as far as my favorite songs by The Midnight. Now I can't listen to it without picturing this video. It's virtually perfect. Thanks for doing this one man!
@@JonathanBelle Just two? What about three or four? I'm messing with you man lol you're killing it with these videos. You've introduced me to a number of artists through these videos too.
The Midnight duo are pros, in making music targeting the memories we had about our conception of the future. In simple, their sound selections makes us remember how we used to imagine the world in the 80's.
I've been bingeing your reaction videos and you have the exact same reactions to specific moments in each song as myself. It brings great joy when I see these types of reactions.
this song means so much to me... it came out when I was just finishing highschool and soon to transition into college. Even tho I was no longer a kid it felt like I was leaving my childhood and the good times behind for the bigger world. I guess we never stop exploring!
This is a perfect example why I love synthwave. Such a nostalgic tune song. I saw the midnight for the first time last fall. It was such a great show. Every musician were amazing especially the saxophone player. The midnight, Timecop1983 and Gunship are heavyweights to retro synthwave.
Good video, Man! I have already heard that song, three years ago, I love Synthwave thanks to the first song I heard was Los Angeles - The Midnight, and from there it was Explorers, I love that song because it makes me nostalgic, thanks my friend, keep reacting like this
And this one's got Bastian riding Falkor, the only thing I felt was missing from the previous one set to Memories that you posted. Really excellent, the channel hopping intro was a great touch. Love 80's nostalgia, I did not enjoy being a teenager but I loved being a kid and this video holds the heart of why that was. Amazing video and song.😁
A total flashback to my childhood (born in 75). We still have some real gems here and there, but there is so much content it seems harder to find. More trash out there so it is hard to find the treasure. By comparison to the 80s where it seemed more often that only the treasure would make it to a wide release. Of course I was just a kid and had little say. So maybe my parents just cultivated the best they could find since they were paying the bill for all this. :)
A walk down memory lane - including several things USA had but New Zealand didn't LOL. Oh to grow up in Silicon Valley during the time of home computers....
@@verneri2702 I was born in 82 so, I didn't get the teen years. But as a kid I remember it. Plus Australia seemed to lag behind a bit in in terms of what we got on free to air TV with movies. So the 80s lasted until 93 for me. My Dad still has his 1980 Technics Hi-fi, Amp, EQ, LP, Tape even the original speakers. But everything we had were pretty much from the 80s, except for the Tupperware 😂 70s all the way. Keep making content, its super chill, I always seem to get lost and forget about, stuff, even just fir a couple minutes. Thank you.
Oh Yes!! This video to this song is my "take me back to my 1980's and 1990's nostalgia". Oh this video always puts a huge feel smile on my face. Glad you experienced this video Jonathan.😊😊😊 Here is another video that does the very same thing. Lisa Lougheed - "Run With Us". This is the ending theme song from a cartoon called "The Racoons". It was okay, but that ending theme song....powerful synthwave magic. Hope you give this one a try.😊 m.th-cam.com/video/oHmE5IXhVXk/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUPcnVuIHdpdGggdXMgYW12
Yes, i always come back to this specific edit, its like a journey through time
The Midnight THE TIME MACHINE GROUP !!!!!!!

Thanks for creating this space to escape into. Felt like I was watching with a friend.
You’re welcome ⚡️😁
Just seeing 80s ads puts a smile on a 30/40-something yearl old face. We were luckly little bastards. ❤❤

Wow Pretty Good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Magical Times the 80s and 90s ....glad that i was at least a kid in the 90s :)

I discovered The Midnight through watching @BoxyFresh streams, such enjoyable music.

A damn good edit ❤
Thanks for the watch Jonathan! 😄
You’re welcome!
Take me back to the 80's ...
Try and stop me, tractor 😂😂
🔥 🔥
The Midnight couldn’t make a better video for this song if they tried
It's was all about the flyin in the 80s lol
5 eighties films. Roxanne, the bride, Valley girl, fresh horses and the princess bride.😊
I want to go back to the beginning.
I see your point.
gen x gets this
JE VOUS DIT MERCI MERCI MERCI je suis un homme heureux
Oh, how I miss when the future was now.
It is possible to miss things you have never experienced. Synthwave and other nostalgic things make me feel that way

Hi my friend! Do you like Jai Wolf? What is your favorite song? (if you like him)
I love your work! I follow you from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Thank you! I haven’t heard him but I’ll check out some songs!

A poignant reminder that the West is dying and these times are not coming back.
