    I bought my xp400 last year and commented on this video. An update: This year I killed a year-and-a-half old spike-horn that I thought was a doe...I used an antler-less tab on him...and got him out of the gene-pool. About a couple weeks later I whacked an 8 point; probably 2.5 years old, that I had been watching for a couple of weeks. Both shots were between 35 and 40 yards; I used the first reticle on each. Great weapon; no intentions of going back to my old Parker. Thanks for your videos. God bless.

      So you tagged a buck as a doe and you believe that killing a spike was good for the "gene pool"😂😂😂 you are the definition of not a very smart person

    I know this a pretty old thread but appreciate your intelligent and common-sense approach to this subject. Just ordered a Stalker 405 and I think it will be similar to yours. I have a load of guns but the silence (relatively) and devastating accuracy for the crossbow has had my attention for a while. Looking forward to learning about this sport and I thank you for your help...

    You are spot-on! And thank you for the practical demo. I didn't really understand how powerful modern crossbows are until I put mine through the paces. Shocking performance from my Barnett TS390. Superfast as clocked by my LabRadar and devastating on my first deer of the season - broken rib on entry (engine-room hit -- double lung and topped the heart) and pass thru. Bolt was buried 12" into the soil on the off-side. The 110 lb doe went down w/in 80 feet at the end of very obvious blood trail. Crossbows are not to be discounted!

    Thanks for the videos. Couldn't find anyone else with this exact model. Picked one up today that was still on sale. It's been 10 years since I've been in the woods due to working. Never used a crossbow so I figured that's the best choice to get back into it with.

    WOW! Now that's some impressive accuracy for your newest crossbow! Also, that's a really neat archery range, you're so lucky to have one like that so close to home. I did hear you ask if the other guy qualified for the Fort Belvoir hunt. That could be a great place to see a ton of deer! And lastly, don't forget to order some Nocturnal or Luminock lighted nocks so your fans can watch those arrows hit their target on your next hunt!

    Glad you crossed over to the crossbow.
    Some guys don't know it, but you can actually use both hands to pull the string to cock the bow. It's not that difficult. No cranking or cocking string needed.
    Place on the ground with foot in the hold, grab string on both sides of the rail, pull string up, into full cocked position. Much faster, no nose.

    I just bought one of these bad boys this evening! I'll have it out in the field in a couple of days. No crank mechanism, however. I have hunted with my Parker Terminator for 13 years, and it has been great. However, It is getting up in years and limbs, etc. don't last forever, and Parker is has been out of business for nearly 4 years as well. I most certainly have more than one gun, I suppose 2 crossbows would also be acceptable. 🙂 Thanks for posting this. God bless.

    Awesome video man, just found your channel. I'm looking into some crossbows for beginners and this one has caught my attention. I'm very curious about manually loading this crossbow. Is it possible to pull and lock in position using your hands? Or do you need to use the crank. Also, how easy is it to 'decock' the crossbow with no bolt loaded?

    • @vameathunter2771
      @vameathunter2771  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are strong enough you can load it without the crank (I can). It's very difficult to decock/unload and dangerous, should just one bolt to be fire into grass for unloading.

    No projectile is flat shooting weather its an arrow or a center fire rifle.Gravity has the same effect.They both are sighted in above the line of travel the projectile will take.Know the limitations of your weapon.A cross bow is NOT a rifle, in comparison an arrow is far slower than the speed of sound where as a rifle is more than double.The slower arrow will give an animal time to react to the sound of discharge.
