Rain = Rain Day = Road Trip / Nebraska Fall Harvest October 3 & 4

- October 3 began in the field knowing it might rain later that evening. It didn’t wait that long. We received just enough to make us quit.
And then we had more in the evening.
October 4 was considered a “no-field-work” day due to the rains. Jim was asked if he’d be interested in making a trip to Sioux Center, IA to retrieve a piece of equipment. I rode along.
It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day!

Nice time together on this trip enjoyed the scenery and got paid for. That is always good.
I have heard “world’s larges ice cream plant” said about the Unilever ice cream plant in Covington TN.
Multiple brands are made there. Google says”Dryer,’s in Bakersfield CA.”

Your rain from yesterday made it to Central Illinois this morning, so our bean cutting and corn shucking has stopped for now. Oh well we’d had a pretty good run so a short break will be welcome. Keep the videos coming.

Tracy when you passed Dakota City you were about 25 miles from our place. IBP aka Tyson plant north of Dakota City also an oat processing plant and I believe a soybean plant. Jim did a great job getting around the construction south of Winnebago, Sioux City and north of Hinton. Those spots are challenging enoughfor us locals.
