I'm Iranian-American, born and raised in California and this really hit home for me. I've visited this beautiful country a few times and it's a completely different world not just economically but politically and fashion-wise. I had to wear a headscarf while I was there and it baffled me how much it can change your identity fashion-wise. This was really amazing to watch from the inside, so thank you for dedicating your time to spreading this interesting Iranian story to others outside of my culture.
I hoped to find out what it is like to be female in Iran. Instead I found out what it is like to be in the fashion industry in Iran. Not a bad story but not what the name suggests. I would like to see more about the lives of various groups since the revolution but hopefully about a larger demographic.
I am a iranian living in belgium. We left iran 15 years ago and i went there for a trip a month ago. i thought iran would be a dark country where people live in depression and difficulties. The reason for that is cuz the zionist media always wanted to give the bad view to iran and the iranians becuz of their political discussions. but when i went there a month ago my view on iran has changed 100%. The only thing i could say is that iranian people are the most happy and lovely people in the world. If you go there you will see evrywhere parties and people having fun.
Brian Lemons I suggest you a journey to Iran, you will enjoy a lot and you would see by your own eyes, I suggest you to meet local people and find some friends before going so they will show you the real life of iranians which is different than what you see in streets and believe me it is safe , media is full of lie
In the fashion industry, as a woman... So...what is your problem again?! She is a woman telling her story, so the video does what it tells you it does. Not sure what you expected, smh.
Even if he'd visit, he wouldn't find out about how it is to be a woman there. Sure, Iran is a nice place and most people would probably be nice to him. But he's not a journalist and would probably not be able to interview women about how it is to be a woman there in order to get the answers he was hoping to find in this video. As mentioned in the interview, women's situation in Iran isn't spoken about without risk. Why would they risk their life to talk about their situation to a curious tourist? It makes no sense. Just touristing a country wouldn't give you a deeper understanding of the social dynamics of a people - especially as a man wondering about women issues that are taboo to talk about. That's what good about documentaries and interviews, you get the knowledge pre-packaged from people with the experience and expertise to research and examine (hopefully) factual data.
What Brian means is that the interview is not representative of what it's like to be female in Iran, but what it's like to be a female fashion designer in Iran. The title does make it sound like the video would be about females in Iran in general. As Brian said, it's not a bad video, but it's about a more specific situation than you'd expect based on the title alone.
As a woman who wears the hijab, I want to say that the oppressive nature (i.e. only being able to wear black) is an attribute native to Middle Eastern Cultures not Islam. It really saddens me when I see governments take religion and turn it into an oppressive force to mold societies to their liking. I'm South Asian and my culture is full of colors and bright patterns, I can't even dream of being limited like that. I greatly admire Sadaf for what she's doing. Religion should be a choice, and a liberating one at that. I'm glad she's choosing to change for what she believes.
Would you say that thoughts of doubting your religion as being an oppressive force on the free will of the individual or is the individual expected to summit himself to the will of Allah? When I Read through my translated Quran like the majority of Muslims do I see doubts in your faith being referenced by words like, disease, hypocrites, Musrif etc it seems that within the quran the word doubt is referenced to a disease of the heart. To me at least ridding ones self of religion is (thee) most liberating thing a person can do.
the majority of muslims don't read the Quran in their own language which they understand, they read it in arabic which is dumb, or they even don't read it... i know a lot of people who are calling themselves as Muslim, as a true muslim blah blah but then they never read the quran and talking about how peaceful islam is... I am turkish and the majority in Turkey is muslim, and turkish is nowhere related to arabic, these two cultures and languages are from different families no where related, we only share the same Religion, but the turkish people most of them never touched a translated (into turkish) quran, they only learn the arabic alphabet at a mosque and then read it in arabic ... and yeah they do not understand what they are reading these people are depended what their family taught them or what the Imam taughts them about the islam and most of the family members cherry pick the friendly things and ingore the bad words spread by islam like it never existed... and then there are the Imams who do the same ... I used to be a muslim too but atfer reading the translation of quran and the polical motivation of islam, i felt so disgusted now i am an agnostic person...and a culture even a religion is like a mirror it reflects the truth about how a country or the people are like... and most of the islamic countries like saudi arabia, iran, iraq, syria shows what the true islam is! killing gay people because they are authentic to them selves, forbidding women how they want to dress like, not giving them voting rights... think about that
Sylla Atlas That hijab in Iran has Enland and USA created. If people's in my country understand policy they will see even now who is behind the Islam and regime in Iran and supporting.
Hue Lu, yes you're right people in Iran are not wearing these clothes which showing in this vedio. If you watch fashion show in US or Europe or anywhere else around the world people are not wearing fashion show clothes. People in America and Canada usually wearing simple clothes when they are working during the week, even some parties you can see the same. I have no idea where do you live, I'm sure if you living in these countries you'll be agree. Even in Europe people are wearing simple nice clothes. I beliv these because I was in these countries and I'm living here.
Oh, aren't you ignorant. What is the punishment for apostasy? I am pretty sure it is death. The koran says to kill all Jews wherever you find them and tax, enslave or kill all infidels.
Ahh Iran is such a beautiful country filled with the most happy and caring people! I'm so excited about this series as I feel it will "unveil" (heh) all the amazing trends and styles people in Tehran are displaying! Tehran is filled with so many fashionable people, it's like you've stepped into an entirely different realm!
Let’s not forget the US forcefully removed the prime minister Mossadegh for their purpose even thought he was working for democracy, which led to this more oppressive Iran. Just imagine how different Iran would be if the US didn’t intervene for their benefit.
they want to show iran as a repressive "regime" instead of the democracy it is. iranians wear whatever they want for the most part if youve actually went there. there are just norms for a code of dress you should abide by, which is covering your body. modesty is not a terrible thing to accomodate. iran isnt strict on enforcing clotheswear, this isnt saudi.
@@lemortedbrian6070 BS they are oppressed and harassed and arrested andcworse if hijab rules are not followed. It's an oppressive dictatorship. Majority of lranians inside and outside reject the current regime don't recognize them as their government. They have blood on their hands lots of blood.
Algorithmic Process and u know in Islam it's not good if you are racist its a huge sin and also I think u should accept all religions and be a good person because I hope u mean no harm
This is a great story honestly BUT as an Iranian woman I was expecting this to be a short documentary of the nearly painful life as a woman in Iran. The world deserves to know that. Us women in this country should tell the story not just fashion wise but all the other important aspects.
i am not muslim i am hispanic but i hope one day women dont have to risk their life and freedom to tell their stories i hope over the next few years women can stand up and get civil rights in those countries.
+Final Final I highly doubt shell be executed for fashion... most criminals executed in iran are killed for capital offenses like rape, murder, drugs, pedophilia... and some for not so great offenses but they are great in the eyes of the theocracy: homosexuality/sodomy, extreme forms of adultery...yeah, that's all I know
One day I was looking at some vintage magazines from my mother and I was shocked...Iran in her time was the real deal, modern women modern clothes they were more forward than the majority of the world. She said that here in Europe Iran was a very appreciated country, a little bit like how Americans look the French ;)
Not seem to be they are oppressed by it before the revolution bit was a choice but you know what bis forced breaks like the current regime. Millions can't wait for that. 🤗
Sadly, Indonesia is heading into this direction. Today you couldn't walk around with short pants or sleeveless tops without people making remarks on your outfit. People who wear "high fashion clothes" are being called names such as snobs. There are pressure to force people to wear modest dress and hijabs, even today's "fashionable hijabs" are being debated, if it's proper or not. Even some people are against our traditional clothes for showing much skin. Once the Royal Family of Java were scolded on twitter by people for wearing revealing traditional Javanese clothes. Such a shame our country are inspired by countries like Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia instead of Lebanon, Egypt or Turkey.
Alex Shuysky It's not Islam. Since Islam has been in Indonesia for many many centuries. What is happening now is just simply Arab supremacy. It's ridiculous! They're not gonna stop until they destroy all indigenous culture in the name of Islam.

hello foreigner.... im indonesian and its our rights to judge and tell those are wrong and those are good..... dont you ever interfere other countries and you are contradicting the opinions of 200 million people in that Muslim majority country and you don't know anything about the thoughts of Indonesian people. mind your own country which is troubled, strange, and pathetic
@ The fact that you feel that I intervened when I'm simply stating my opinion is exactly my point. Opinions are okay as long as it doesn't go against Islam. I say bullshit and fuck that.
Hello, i'm indonesian here. I can't say that what you are writing about is wrong, but thats not totally true. You should see too that there are so many people in here are free to use some clothes that showing her skin. Indonesia has many race, religion and culture. I don't see any such a forces here to wear hijab. Many of my friends didn't use it, and we never judge her, many public figure too in here that are not using veil, and i see that they are just okay here. And the point is you should see indonesia in wide perspective.
@@cameronhowe1110 Lol why are you jealous my dear? People are living in extreme sanctions and cannot afford food but you believe they're going out and getting "nose surgery". Learn a thing or two about Iran. Bitter girl
I have two close friends who are muslims when I spent a month in an internship area. It was interesting to know how different they are yet, same acceptance. The other is a very religious one, wears the black thing or I call it ninja *sorry pls no offense*, while the other dress like a casual non muslim. I asked why? She said it is her personal choice. Then, I asked again in what? Then her friend who wears black said in a joke voice, "oh man, come on. Diversity.". I really didnt get what she meant and then minutes after, she whispered that I shouldnt further asked about it. Well, she told me in a tone that says to respect and accept the choice. I was just amazed by both of them, even different perception in same religion, they still have no prejudice about the other.
Whoever translated this did a terrible job. The part where it says she “designed for superstars” she was actually saying she got inspiration from famous people. I caught multiple other mistakes as well.
I am a 20 year old girl living in Pakistan, and i wear hijab. I have never been forced to wear hijab. My parents have only always educated me about whats right and wrong. The choice is mine. They send me to get education. I am a university students. Thousands of girls go to school colleges and universities and offices. I dress up. I go for shopping. I go to restaurant, parties, parks, picnics. Its just that the media is spreading negativity, hate and anger more than love, peace and positivity.
It's great that you made your own choice. I think many westerners focus on the minority as the majority on many aspects of Islamic culture. It's the media's fault really.
+Huda Ibtisama but you live in Pakistan tho, clothing is a choice, in iran the hijab is required of ALL women regardless if u are Iranian, western, muslim or not muslim
Something I'd suggest in the future is when you have to use subtitles to then slow down the background. The scenes were changing here so quickly and I was trying to read & was missing what you were showing.
@@AG-ed3ev again, I suggest that article as it doesn’t focus on women in western countries. There are many women that don’t view their form of government as oppressive and genuinely support it. It’s a paternalistic mindset to decide for them how they should/shouldn’t run their country. Not up for Westerners to decide/manipulate.
Pakistan is also an Islamic country but women's are allowed to wear whatever that want Pakistani rules does not demands women to wear hijab or lose fitting clothes. Why is the difference?
Ahmed Ansari I don't know .. I guess it have something to do with the government ruled or the law .. also in Egypt it is Islamic but we don't have such a rule
+maya sh first of all.... tell me in which country there never happened rape.....so in many countries girl are suffering from rape victim.... it not only about Pakistan...first change your mind....
I have a friend in Iran... Shes a scientist and she wants to leave and be a researcher here in America, but Iran is so strict with its people, it would be easy for her to get a green card with her qualifications in the US, but nearly impossible for Iran to allow her to leave. They will place penalties on her family and even friends and coworkers if she tries to leave, and the cost to leave is astronomical. Iran keeps a terrible tight lease on its citizens, its scary to hear how other countries work.
melika asadpour oh, and in my country it's actually quite common for us to move to another country for a while, work there, and move back. It's interesting.
Kamran Milani Islam isn’t an extreme religion. It’s some of the dumbass people who wanna turn it into an extreme religion and those people who want to do that are the ones who ARENT real Muslims so stfu
I know a lot of Persians. They are the most western in that region aside from Turks, and it's left me wondering, does anyone in Iran really support these strict "religious" laws? It certainly doesn't seem to be the majority.
Well, on the plus side, Tuesday in Tehran the Iranian government blinded a man for a chemical attack that he committed against a 4-year-old girl in 2009 (which destroyed her vision).Sooo.....yay for progress, I guess?
Cheshire Kat yeah and a few years earlier a woman was executed because she killed a man who had tried to rape her/did rape her for self defence so nay for progress probably
I agree... There is not oppression at all for women to wear only black in Islam. But actually, women are more encouraged, more than men, to wear colorful clothes and gold and jewelry. They are encouraged to use heena... They are encouraged to look beautiful... But with dignity and modesty. And everyone know that these are the qualities of any respectable women. 😊
hello hey and it is a choice in all muslim countries except two. Hell, even Saudi is better than iran in this regard. I went there and didn't have to cover my head just the abaya.
Moonlight Bae sad isn't it? I've visited friends in countries where it isn't mandatory, but societal pressure is enough to compel them to cover up. I find it sad because it should be a choice. I'm even sure it is required of their religion for it to be a choice, for them to be sincere of heart and soul
Qualities of any respectable woman? For me a respectable woman is one who is friendly and respectful to others, nothing else. She could have sex with a hundred of other people, or dress all in black, or a strong religious christian or muslima. Woman I look up to are woman who are happy with their life, who search for the truth by logic, who are kind, respectful and open minded. And if they happen to like gangbangs and are happy with it and are friendly to others, open minded and search for the truth with logic than I look up to them. That doesn't mean what makes them happy would make me happy though.
Those who think that wearing short clothes that reveal a lot of skin is fashion are totally wrong. In fact longer clothes are not a barrier to fashion, rather it means more amount of cloth so designers have more possibility of creativity in such clothes.
Good for you girl. go get what you want and what you wish for. I really enjoyed this video and also reading some comments from other parts of the world made me happy. Ignore the negative energy and comments . Do what you do, you are good at it. xoxo.
I am a brother of two elder sisters from Bangladesh they don't wear the hijab and in the Holy Quran it's up-to a girls will to wear the Hijab a country's law on how people should dress that's communism hope all my sisters in Iran do well if not come to Bangladesh we will accept u with open arms love from Bangladesh and from a brother 💖
Syed Nafis Faiz can i ask u what's the problem with the rohingya people and the government? because i find that many rohingyans fled the country and i want to understand their situation. pls reply😄😄🙏🙏
The concept of wearing Hijab is not just covering your hair and wear black clothes. Hijab is about protect woman's worth and show the world that women is not for display and wearing hijab proves that beauty it's not to be seen, it's to be discovered. Wearing black apparels are not part of Muslim woman modesty. Honestly, you can wear any colours you want. It's more like middle east's culture to wear all black. Islam don't forbid you from chasing your dream and do your passion as long as it doesn't cross the line. Whatever you do, protect your dignity and be a strong and respectable woman. There's no use if you decided to wear hijab but you still spreading your legs for random men, that just erupted the whole concept of hijab. That's what you guys need to understand. It's a responsibility to wear a hijab and it's just up to you to carry the responsibility or not. If the government of Iran decided to make hijab as an obligatory for every woman in iran ( no matter Muslim or not ) well, don't blame on the religion bcs the government itself messed up the concept of modesty.
nur shereen It is not the Woman's responsiblity to be guardians of some false notion of "family honor", whilst men get off scot free. Yours is a repressive culture to Women, and the covering is symbolic of that.
All Iranian womens are so attractive, brave and adorable. They will get their right back one day. Western countries caused Islamic revolution of Iran to destroy Iran and Iranians as Iran was supposed to become one of the most poweful and industrial hub in the world. But as you see they can never and ever make Persians backward , all Iranians I met so far were so modern , smart, talented beyond the imagination . Most of the scientists and workers in NASA, Google, Microsoft ,.... are Iranians. I am sure one day reall Persia will rise again.
I can see it being beneficial to wear a hair and face covering in a country that is dusty and sandy, it protects against that environment. Otherwise, not so much.
Some people call persian women naturally beautiful, but it's easy for them to be since they have feminine features that are often associated with beauty standards. They are known for their big eyes, long luscious hair, and small noses. They don't like dramatic makeup or plastic surgery since they already possess the desired attributes. Not to mention you never hear about persian man divorce or marrying multiple wives so it seems that Persian women possess qualities that contribute to strong and lasting relationships. Additionally, Persian women take great pride in their skincare routines, which often involve traditional methods passed down through generations. Their glowing complexion and radiant skin further enhance their natural beauty. In Persian culture, beauty is highly valued and seen as a reflection of one's inner qualities. Persian women believe that taking care of their skin is not just about physical appearance, but also about self-care and overall well-being. This dedication to skincare showcases their commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and feeling confident in their own skin. Of course sexism exist in all countries, iran is no exception. But gender inequality is caused by poverty and unemployment. Their government need to use some economic policies to address these issues and create more opportunities for women. Additionally, promoting education and awareness about gender equality can help challenge societal norms and contribute to long-term change.
Lokho23 Contrary to a lot of assumptions, Iran is actually not an arab country! But I do agree with you when it comes to the way muslim women are often viewed.
***** I don't care for an apology. Your are taking things out of context. The Quran isn't something your pick and chose you have to follow it through completely. Women do have a say in their life. They don't have to follow their husbands blindly. It really irks me how people are so ignorant and think they know what they are talking about. You left your religion, fine that's your life. Just because it didn't appeal to you doesn't mean it appeal to others. Islam does gives rights to women such as owing their own business and rights to divorce and so on. The hijab isn't forced unto women. Women can either wear or chose not to. Everyone has a choice in life. I'm done.
All her models were not wearing the sort of Iranian culture as what the lady was saying before the Islamic revolution there was high fashion which was also western. The religion of Islam allows people to express themselves through fabrics and colour. The sultans were one of the most elaborate clothed people. Luxurious gowns made from materials from the four corners of the world. The ottamans were externally creative in women's high fashion with modest gowns lengthening to a mile. Sadly history has been lost and classroom knowledge limits the truth on the real history. Ignorance is dangerous and can ruin your way of thinking.
As a half-Persian woman living abroad I have a lot to say about this. The problem in Iran isn't the fact that it's an Islamic state, it's the fact that the stupid politicians misuse religion to their benefit. I was brought up Muslim, my family taught me stuff and at the end of the day the choice was mine. I have aunts who do wear hijab and those who don't. It's a personal choice. I find clothes and fashion as a way to express myself so I do believe that a particular dress code shouldn't exist in law. Although I hope people stop seeing the hijab as an "oppression" in Islam but rather something terrible that the law is enforcing.
I'm so tired of people saying that Muslim women have been limited. That they can't where light colors, like they know anything. Ask a Muslim who loves Islam. I have been Muslim my whole life and I live it this women is saying that we are limited. She has no idea she doesn't even cover I do fully. You can be Muslim and have fashion and still cover the way you are supposed to. No you do not HAVE to wear to wear black clothes in Islam you can wear it. You do not HAVE to wear full borqa in Islam but you van if you want. Women who are in Islam and love there religion and practice Islam don't uncover these women in the video weren't even covered THERE HAIR WAS SHOWING. Don't wear it if you are gonna do that.
Ahtika Halim, does islam make people stupid? Because you might be one of the dumber ones I hace come across . In iran you *have to* wear a scarf regardless of your religion or beliefs. It's against the law not to wear it! And honestly, only because you feel like you need to wear a scarf to prevent you from becoming a prostitute, it doesn't mean all women are as loose and weak as you are. Mind you own business.
Even as a Muslim I feel like this isn’t right, oppressing someone and twisting beliefs to manipulate people is horrible! religion should be a choice and not something to be forced upon. Tbh that kind of takes away from what religion really is which is you having faith and a deep connection to God not submitting because of force or fear for stepping out of line! That is one reason why we were created as humans and not angels, because we are created with the ability of choice. There’s even a Surah in the Quran, surah-al- Kafirun Say : O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. Nor will I worship those whom you have worshipped;, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine.
i will never understand what these headscarfs are good for. you shouldn't have to wear something if you don't want to. you can still believe in a potato without eating it...
Minh Le you will never understand bcz you are not a muslim! and no muslim men are limited only to certan principles! brain washed by western societies. read more! chat less!
Ur making hijab look so bad when it's the opposite :/ when a woman wears a hijab it's because she wants it Andy not because of rules :( there's so much girls that doesn't wear a hijab when they're Muslims 👎👎it's not a must but a choice 👈🙌☝️and the most important thing is that we're doing it for Allah ☝️❤️❤️
+chaba asma It is not a choice. It is a must. The Qu'ran says to cover your hair and chest. I hate the modernizing of Islam. Let it remain the way Allah swt gave it to us. Let it remain the way it was in the days of the prophets. The world around us changes but religion and God never changes. Man thinks they are so wise. Really life is meant to please Allah swt not self. Live it like it is temporary...if we are faithful and believing we will live the life of pleasure in Jannah. This world is not meant to be Jannah. We are meant to struggle, to work for our daily food, to have children. to provide for our self and others and when we are successful Allah swt rewards us. What is a Muslim woman without hijab/niqab???? She isn't a Muslim woman. A shame to Islam. May I never be one of them InshaAllah.
+Amira Megdadi It never says to cover your hair in the Quran. It says quote "Cover your chest and your bosom." and quote "cover what is necessary for chastity"24:31 it never says to cover a woman's face or her hair. As a Muslim woman who has friends who wear hijabs I think it's amazing. You have no right to say if someone is a shame in Islam. That right is on Allah (swt). The covering of your hair and face is a person decision with a woman and Allah. Yes you should work your hardest to be a good muslim everyday, but bringing others down is pathetic. We as Muslims should strive to help one another. This woman is bravely defending herself and what the Quran stands for. The Quran stands for equal rights for women and men, and this is clearly oppression. I find it disgusting when Muslims defend this type of Islam. It's not Islam. Islam is a difficult religion, but the prophet (pbuh) always treated women with the same respect as a man. A Muslim women is someone who does the 5 pillars. A muslim women should cover their body mainly their chest when a man is present. That is what the Quran says. You don't have a single right to say what Islam is or isn't. Allah didn't make you a prophet. No one is a shame to Islam unless they truly do something ie terrorism or use Allah's name wrongly. Allah is the most merciful, hopefully he gives you mercy for your disgusting behavior toward another
+SamDance no it says to cover everything you can search for it sorry but I can't spell it in English"I know it in Arabic" but the best example is the prophet's Mohammad wives :)
I am so happy to see this we need to know and learn, understand these women are going through a lot...thankyou from the bottom of my 💝 thankyou my sister!!

Iran does not need her , she is just a parasite

But all Deborah Dias is saying is how that statement impacted them not how Iran is.......so what is the problem....

I used to be a muslim too but atfer reading the translation of quran and the polical motivation of islam, i felt so disgusted now i am an agnostic person...and a culture even a religion is like a mirror it reflects the truth about how a country or the people are like... and most of the islamic countries like saudi arabia, iran, iraq, syria shows what the true islam is! killing gay people because they are authentic to them selves, forbidding women how they want to dress like, not giving them voting rights... think about that
So much respect for this woman! Is this types of minds that change the world! loved it
RawLook , .
My God you are naive...
This is what fashion is about.

That hijab in Iran has Enland and USA created.
This is excellent. I learned a great deal from this woman's story, and I am left with much to think about. Thank you for making this.
I know your santa

Im islam Allah (our God) says in Quran (our holy book) that no one should be forced to do something or any thing related to religion or anything
Algorithmic Process ur annoying she just said that Iran is a Muslim country in the video u idiot
Algorithmic Process u take that back and I hope u know that u r very wrong
Algorithmic Process and u know in Islam it's not good if you are racist its a huge sin and also I think u should accept all religions and be a good person because I hope u mean no harm
Nail art On youtube FYI girls should wear hijab in iran from 8 or 9 years old
Mojan Kiazand Wow...
This is a great story honestly BUT as an Iranian woman I was expecting this to be a short documentary of the nearly painful life as a woman in Iran. The world deserves to know that. Us women in this country should tell the story not just fashion wise but all the other important aspects.
Mahsa Shirazian I don't know much about it but yeah women's there have many restrictions and its bad
i am not muslim i am hispanic but i hope one day women dont have to risk their life and freedom to tell their stories i hope over the next few years women can stand up and get civil rights in those countries.
She is smart I hope Iran let her live and do fashion because she really talent go girl
+Final Final I highly doubt shell be executed for fashion... most criminals executed in iran are killed for capital offenses like rape, murder, drugs, pedophilia... and some for not so great offenses but they are great in the eyes of the theocracy: homosexuality/sodomy, extreme forms of adultery...yeah, that's all I know
She won’t be don’t worry 😒😒😒
This woman has my respect for standing up for what she believes in in a place where she can be put through a lot for expressing her voice.
One day I was looking at some vintage magazines from my mother and I was shocked...Iran in her time was the real deal, modern women modern clothes they were more forward than the majority of the world. She said that here in Europe Iran was a very appreciated country, a little bit like how Americans look the French ;)
They really should take the compulsory hijab law out. Women seem too restricted and it's not fair.
Iranian women are the most beautiful in the Middle East and most courageous, despite experiencing some restrictions
carmine marino they all have nose jobs lol 😂
@@cameronhowe1110 Lol why are you jealous my dear? People are living in extreme sanctions and cannot afford food but you believe they're going out and getting "nose surgery". Learn a thing or two about Iran. Bitter girl
Eli za it was a terrible joke and I’ll like to apologise. I wrote it when I was younger and trying to edgy ..
All I can say is that Iran is a beautiful country! Gotta revisit soon!
More on Iran please!
I watched the vid as if I have never seen it before.... lol
Farsi is such a beautiful language. 🥰
What
My story is also same as yours :)
+missjanedo And media just reflects on reality....
+Huda Ibtisama but you live in Pakistan tho, clothing is a choice, in iran the hijab is required of ALL women regardless if u are Iranian, western, muslim or not muslim
Iranians are some of the coolest ever. Poor people suppressed under the theocracy.

You deserve more views, love your short "documentaries"!
Should I read the translation or look at the images because I had to pause to read or see what was going on!
Such a shame that women are treated this way.
It is pure oppression in Iran for women except those following and fed by the brutal regime.
Some women would choose the veil anyway and find it empowering. I recommend reading the scholar article, “Do Muslim Women Really Need Saving?”
Katie Akin OP is referring to the women that live in oppressive Theocracies. Not in the western world
@@AG-ed3ev again, I suggest that article as it doesn’t focus on women in western countries. There are many women that don’t view their form of government as oppressive and genuinely support it. It’s a paternalistic mindset to decide for them how they should/shouldn’t run their country. Not up for Westerners to decide/manipulate.
@katieakin9397 yikes, this didnt age well.
the language and the way she talks is so soothing
Pakistan is also an Islamic country but women's are allowed to wear whatever that want Pakistani rules does not demands women to wear hijab or lose fitting clothes. Why is the difference?
Ahmed Ansari I don't know .. I guess it have something to do with the government ruled or the law .. also in Egypt it is Islamic but we don't have such a rule

They are crazy, the Government over in Iran.
These women are insanely beautiful and the way she speaks😍
she has such a soothing voice or maybe it's the language or both !! and she is very brave, kudos to her :)

Iran until the 70‘s was free, happy and full of dreams. Women were able to do everything they wanted and then it was taken away from them
I have a question if I went to Iran as a vacation (as an Asian woman) would I have to cover my hair as well?
With sorry yes because the government force women to have scarf
Huda Ibtisama the thing is, to force someone to cover up in the form of a law IS oppression. It should be a choice.
hello hey and it is a choice in all muslim countries except two.
I'm even sure it is required of their religion for it to be a choice, for them to be sincere of heart and soul
hello hey yes I've talked to a lot of Islamic scholars and they highly discourage forcing it.
Honestly, religion should be a personal choice not a general rule.

Do what you do, you are good at it. xoxo.

How can we purchase your designs? Do you ship outside Iran?
Iran have a nice women
True, not to mention Ebay, Tinder, MGE entertainment, even frickin Hot Pockets were made by Iranians
Love this! how refreshing to see a spotlight on this topic
I can see it being beneficial to wear a hair and face covering in a country that is dusty and sandy, it protects against that environment. Otherwise, not so much.

SalarK well said bro

Im so sick of everybody portayimg muslim women as opressed in arab countries. Peopel its not always like that, show diffrent sides.
Lokho23 Contrary to a lot of assumptions, Iran is actually not an arab country! But I do agree with you when it comes to the way muslim women are often viewed.
Lokho23 ya well, persia isn't an arab country.
Sara It is an Islamic state however
***** Your clearly uneducated so I'm not even going to bother explaining to you. Its kind of ironic coming for a guy with a Muslim name.
I'm done.
After reading Persepolis, I'm awed by how she is still brave enough to design open and colorful clothes, which are against the law.
Iran mostly are Shia Muslims noo
Yup they are. Thats why any religion in that country is welcome. 5-6% are sunni's they live there peacefully. A lot of christians and jews also.
Shia is NOT Islam...btw
Persian Amazon then what is it lol
Maybe one day Tehran will be an international fashion capital as it should be.
PROUD to be veiled 😊
Petit Pousssin stfu plz 😒😒😒
I m Pakistani, I m also proud to be veiled :)
What a remarkable woman. And her designs are beautiful.
There’s even a Surah in the Quran, surah-al- Kafirun
Say : O ye that reject Faith!
I worship not that which ye worship,
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
Nor will I worship those whom you have worshipped;,
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
To you be your Way, and to me mine.

I am struck everytime how beautiful the language is...
+chaba asma This woman lives in a society where society FORCES it upon her. It's not a choice.
After the Islamic Revolution, women were required to wear it in public
What ever what a beautiful language they speak just “ BEAUTIFUL “
Disclaimer : hijab is not mandatory/ imposed by gouvernement in MOST muslim countries.
