You have to shove in Miles Morales at the bottom of the second game to know its about him, because he is just knock off Spider-Man. The main story was supposed to be about Peter which was made clear from the start seeing as how its based around his rogues gallery.

Just because Venom and Kraven were firstly Peter-Parker villains does not mean Miles has no stake in solving problems that are impacting New York City.

I thought it was entertaining enough. I think peak storytelling for video games was somewhere in the earlier 2000s but this was at least fun.

It's a disappointing Spider-Man story that yet again is hijacked by Miles Morales. Also they absolutely butchered Venom by making him Harry.
