Wow that could probably be its own video. Let’s see if I can make it short but sweet. Spousal visa cons: Annual reporting to bureau of immigration, long process with probationary visa followed by another application process for real visa. Spousal visa also has to follow the exit clearance rules anytime you want to leave with bureau of immigration. Spousal visa is also controlled by the Filipina and can be removed by them. The only real pro I can think of is the costs…spousal visa is cheaper to receive and renew
Thanks! I been thinking about moving to the Philippines from Thailand. Thai immigration for a retirement visa has lots room for improvement, to be polite.
But they now require you to visit the PRA office or satellite office to renew your SRRV card annually. I was hoping that they wouldn't require that, just do it online like before, but it is what it is.
Thanks for your comment. Yes it was available for two years also but now only year. But still much better than every two months going to bureau of immigration for tourist visa. I use the annual trip to Makati to get my annual medical exam and new SRRV ID renewal.
@Americaninthephilippines Where do you recommend going for the annual medical in Makati? I've used Bumrungrad in BKK in the past (excellent hospital), but not yet in Makati.
I had another reply that said the email box is full? info@vaningenmanagement.com I sent a message to Ms Thelma letting her know its full and she said to give her phone number...but I need to clarify putting it on TH-cam before I do that lol. I believe the PRA website also has other "marketer agencies" listed. Keep in mind any of them you contact are being paid by PRA and you do not need to pay them
Sorry it took me a little while to get permission to give out on TH-cam. Here is Ms. Thelma Uy e-mail for your questions or to start your SRRV: thelma_ruy@yahoo.com
@@Dave-ze8vd thanks for your comment. Yes I did convert my drivers license. Please check our TH-cam for the video th-cam.com/video/BK2xxFw0Ia0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_f_wgCI6d1TJlekg
If I understand correctly, you did not pay the agency directly except for a tip afterwards. Is that correct? The $500 they get back is usually sufficient for their services? "All" it cost total was $3K?
That is correct...the agency was paid by the PRA out of my 1,400 application fee. I tipped about 40 because of the great service Thelma gave me. All in costs for my retirement visa was 2,950 for me!! And 10 dollars a year to renew my ID card
@@noveltyrobot thanks for the comment. I know PRA will assist with working but honestly owning business is much more tricky here. I know it is possible…check out the California expat on TH-cam. He lives here and runs business

I'm a 20 year Navy Veteran. I was a welder, pipefitter, and plumber in the navy and after i got out. I hope to visit Philippines this year.
Thank you for your service!! If you enjoy the Philippines; they offer a great retirement visa for us service members. Check out my video
Sorry just noticed your comment on SRRV video lol
One big plus is the Philippines does not tax resident retired foreigners on overseas income.
@@bilw1960 thanks for your comment. Another great point I didn’t mention; thanks for letting everyone know!
Thanks for the information and it was clearly presented. Quick question, how does this compare to a spousal visa and the benefits/pros-cons? Thanks!

@@jk-zm2fs thanks for your comment. I agree …the retirement visas in Southeast Asia could all be improved with streamlined processes.

@ my preferred hospital is Asian hospital and medical center in Muntinlupa or St Luke’s in BGC.
Does social security count for the pension?
Thanks for the comment. Yes I believe social security qualifies as pension for PRA
Please give me the info again on SRRV help

Your recommended agent doesn't accept email because the mail box is full. Apparently she is using some kind of mail forwarding service.
I’m sorry for that…has been over a year since I emailed. If I can find another contact I will post it
