The guitar player wrote this about his relationship with the female singer standing next to him (Stevie Nicks) - they weren’t married so not about divorce but about the demise of their relationship. The whole album that this came off of is fantastic. The bass player and the female playing piano were married and also going through a demise in their relationship and a lot of great music came out of the whole thing. Still amazing that they could wrote songs about each other and such sensitive topics and sing them with each other night after night on the road.
I hear this a lot, but he also wrote go your own way, which took a dig at her. Silver springs might be a better song, but go your own way is probably they’re most known
This version is good, and that's a tribute to how good they were. If you want to hear the original recording, get the CD "Rumours." If you want to hear Mac at their best, get both "Rumors" (1977) and the "Fleetwood Mac" album (1975). Those two records are amazing.
The guitar player is a genius...with his own style and doesn't use a guitar pick....this band has 3 lead singers in it and they have there own unique sound that is ageless!!!
Fleetwood Mac are a British/American rock band formed in London in 1967. Their album "Rumours" (1977) has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums in history. All the songs on it are great. "Don't Stop", "You Make Loving Fun". "Second Hand News", "Gold Dust Woman", "The Chain" etc. Other songs from other albums are "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me", "Rhiannon", "Landslide", "Tusk", "Think About Me", "Sara", "Hold Me", "Love In Store", "Gypsy", "Oh Diane" etc. Sadly Christine McVie passed away last year.
The onstage interaction between Stevie and Lindsey during Silver Springs is more intense. She basically wrote a "You're an asshole for breaking up and you have to sing it every night with me" song. Plus, it's really a great song...arguably her best. I like it better than Landslide and I think Landslide is a great song.
@@MidwesternCornbilly Well, he broke up with her, so I don't really think he gives a hoot what she thinks of him. "Oh wow, you think I'm an ass for dropping you like a lead weight? How shocking." Half the time I think they're both up there hamming it up for the crowd. It could be considered half-schizo to still be playing that game all these years later in public.
This is when they are really old. You should check out the original studio cut from the mid-1970s or some live footage from that time. You will be blown away.
Biss! Fleetwood Mac!!! Yeahhhh! The "breakups" wre between the lead guitarist and blonde lead singer and the blonde keyboard, Christine and the bass player, John McVie (wearing the hat). Keyboardist and bass player were married and lead guitarist and blonde singer had been as couple for many many year. The dark-haired guitarist with the sick guitare licks is Lindsey Buckingham and the blonde singer, dressed all in black with the tambourine, is Stevie Nicks. They are both amazing musical artists in their own right have had and do have amazing solo careers in the own right. Stevie is what one may call an "ICON" if you will and remains very popular even today. With this specific line-up, they are and have been a very popular band since 1975 until around 1987 when they stopped making music all together. This performance from their come-back tour in 1997. As you can see, still very amazing live on stage, playing with passion and love for craft. The drummer, Mick Fleetwod, has been with them since the beginning when the band originally formed in 1967 I believe Yeah, at the time, I"m sure a painful and bitter experience as all breakups are and can be but yeah, by this time, it is just sweet and can tell they call love one another and vibe so well as a whole I could recommend so many songs for them Fleetwood Mac: **RHIANNON** **DREAMS** **DON'T STOP** and **GYPSY** For Stevie, I'd recommend **EDGE OF SEVENTEEN** **LEATHER AND LACE** **TALK TO ME** and **LANDSLIDE** .... You really can't go wrong with any of them! Love the reaction. Keep 'em coming! Cheers!!!
Recommend: Another signature song by Fleetwood Mac is Rhiannon. About a Welsh witch written by Stevie Nicks. The song influenced her black lace outfits she wore on stage.😊😊
I thought that the damned record company stuck Silver Springs on the B side of this song and dropped Silver Springs off the album. It was Lindsey and Mic that did that. So unfair to Stevie. She was furious. And they don't play it in concert until 20 years later. If it was on the album, it would have been my favorite song on it.
Hi Bisscute!Fleetwood Mac is an awesome band. The story about both couple’s divorcing and rising above their heartache to continue their music is amazing. Their Rumor Album is a lot about their personal turmoil.
They didn't rise above it. Rumors was built on anger and spite. Christine has a song in there about sleeping with another man while still married to her husband. You Make Loving Fun. Think about that for a second. John had to play a song night after night about his wife cheating on him. Yeah. The two couples are all, "We rose above it", in interviews. Mick, the one that wasn't involved in the divorces, said it was a nightmare.
@@billywix7313 And because they had a contract which stipulated the band owed the label another album. It also took them 7 months to record the thing because of all the internal band problems. And they had to bring in an outside sound engineer to mix the master as the band couldn't agree. And and and. People mythologize that album because it came out so well. It was almost a disaster several times over.
So happy you are doing Fleetwood Mac. I remember watching this concert when it first came out. I definitely recommend the last two songs in this concert which are Tusk and Dont Stop. I also recommend The Chain as well. Great reaction Biss!! ❤👏👏
Biss, you are correct! It is a funny song rhythmically. Lindsay Buckingham said that he tried to show Mick Fleetwood how he wanted him to play it on the drums, but Mick played it his own way and that's the way it wound up. The chemistry between Lindsay and Stevie Nicks is undeniable, but they just finally realized they couldn't work things out. If you ask me, this will always be THE quintessential Fleetwood Mac song.
Miss Bisscute, I loved your reaction as usual💓💓. Great choice, Fleetwood Mac is an iconic band and a Rock Hall of Fame legend with great musicians and Stevie Nicks singer, the first female two-time member of the Rock Hall of Fame. For future reactions to their songs there are so many suggestions, I recommend the following: The Chain, Big Love, Don't say that you love me, Little lies, Everywhere, Tusk. and you should also react to Stevie Nicks in her solo career with Edge of Seventeen. You will love it.
Hi Biss! I'm not a huge Mac fan as I'm more of a hard rock/metal fan, but they were great at pumping out catchy, radio-friendly songs. I was 11 years old when 'Rumours' came out in '77. Rumours was a MASSIVE hit right from the start, everybody in the Western world knew who Fleetwood Mac was, and basically every song on the album was on the radio ALL the time. My favorite Mac song is 'You Make Loving Fun' (Because I like the sentiment 😏) And Mic Fleetwood the drummer looks like that in every live video I've seen. I believe he has a reputation of being a bit of a madman. lol
The songs were just them arguing on stage! 🤣 Because most people argue at some point we all got it! 😄 They DID have the guts to sing about it though! 😆
A common Fleetwood Mac suggestion is their live performance of Rhiannon on the Midnight Special. It is spectacular. Also really, really good would be Silver Springs and Landslide both performed live on their tv reunion special The Dance. Dreams and The Chain should also be on your list. You are going to hear a lot about Stevie Nicks.....she is the goddess of rock....a force of nature
People would not know about stevie nicks if wasn't for lindsey buckingham insisted that she be in fleetwood mac they lived together for 6yrs and they made rumors that was it.
As much as I know you love to react to live performances, and they're great, the studio version really shows off their voices and musical talents. They had so many great songs. I'd love to see you react to Landslide (great live version!) and Rhiannon.
@jamesevanko7037 Yup. There's no beating the story and raw emotion of Silver Springs, and this particular concert puts it on display quite well. After that, there's such a deep rabbit hole to get into re: Fleetwood Mac and even Stevie Nicks performing her solo material. The Chain is pinnacle stuff (1982 had good performances), Angel during the 1979 tour is such a fun song, Sisters of the Moon is quite witchy, Rhiannon (Midnight Special 1976) is the peak of intense, on and on and on.... Bisscute could have a field day just with Fleetwood Mac (and Stevie Nicks's solo material) alone...
Fleetwood Mac is probably my all time favourite band from the 70s. There is now a new Tribute Band called Rumors of Fleetwood Mac. They have several videos on TH-cam
Love seeing Stevie just stare at Lindsey right before the 2nd verse, which includes the infamous line about her. "Packin' up, shacking up's all you wanna do".. and she sings right along with him.
If you want a sadder FM song, definitely check out the live version of *Silver Springs* from this same concert (The Dance). Stevie Nicks (the female vocalists singing center stage) does the lead vocals and it’s just such a spellbinding and beautiful performance. But other than that, this band has A TON of amazing songs that I hope you get to listen to!
Wonderful Band. This Song was on their Signature Album which is an Absolutely Amazing Album as 2 Critical Members of the Bands Relationships were falling apart and is still contentious to this day
This song was originally released in 1976-77. This performance was a 20th year reunion ro commemorate the album "Rumours", on which this song was included.
No Sadness here. Anymore. Stevie Nicks and Lyndsey Buckingham are just good friends now and (as with the entire Band) work professionally to make excellent music together. YES, "Amicable". Well said Biss! This concert in 1997 was phenomenal! is a MUST HAVE in your collection! The residing President and First Lady were in attendance. Thanks, Bisscute!!
Guitar player Lindsey wrote this as a jab at Stevie (one with tambourine). They had lived together for yrs. For a while they were in Houston and I knew Stevie. I met Lindsey, he was always chasing business. When they disappeared I figured they got their slot in Nashville. BUT uh, they landed the job with FM. This was the #1 hit off Rumors. During the creation of it John(Bass) and Christine (keys) divorced. Mick the Drummer also went thru a divorce. Somehow they cranked out one of the biggest albums in history. This concert is a reunion in the mid 90s. They ended up staying together for many yrs since. Lindsey and Stevie's breakup was ugly and they fought in the studio and on stage. The concert video here is called "The Dance". It's worth a watching entirely.
This song is from the second Fleetwood Mac album after Stevie and Lindsey joined the band. Yes, this song and that album in retrospect were very weird. But, for whatever reason, all of the songs on that album was just perfect for that time in American history. Amazing to see the success and quality of music at that time given all of the chaos behind the scenes.
I had a chance to see Lindsey Buckingham in concert a few years back in a small venue. The concert was fantastic, Lindsey is such a great musical talent. R.I.P. to Christine. I wish all members of the band the best of luck.
If I remember correctly, this was a reunion concert. Lindsey and Stevie had both left the band for awhile. You can tell from the emotions in this performance, that some time has passed since the breakup.
actually it is an anger beat...the album rumors mick fleetwood's drumming just takes it to another level and always gave me the spine tingles...even mcvie's bass is fantastically harsh
Rumors is one of the best albums ever made. Certainly one of the greatest in the 70’s. Lindsey Buckingham is a genius musician and an incredibly talented band. Would be great if you reacted to hit after hit from this iconic album.
Hello Miss Bisscute !!! ( RIP Christine McVie 🌹💔 😭 ) another tremendous Artist lost to the world 🌎 A beautiful light 🕯️ indeed one of my personal favorites is A slow song called ( Song bird ) on 🎹 piano Yet Eva Cassidy covered it on Guitar 🎸 Both are most excellent takes you should hear for yourself !!! As always the like button 🔘 has been Illuminated.😎👍👍🎃💀
There are at least a dozen songs from Fleetwood Mac that you will love but there are several I think are worthy of attention although they got very little radio play over the years. One is "Hypnotized" and the other is "Mesmerized" - check them out! I think you'll like both of them
Rumours was released just before I went off to college. You can't over estimte how big a hit it was and how big a star Stevie, especially, became. The tension created by the breakups gave the writing a special dynamic, more angsty than sad. I think I appreciate the album even more today than I did at the time. Keep up the good work, Biss!
The classic and most famous ineup of the group had just reunited at this time in 1997. The relationship breakups happened 20 years earlier. Around 1977 the personal relationship between Lindsey Buckingham (singing) and Stevie Nicks (the one in the middle) had come to an end, and the keyboardist Christine McVie and the bass player John McVie were divorcing at the same time. Drummer Mick Fleetwood's marriage was also ending at the time.
This song was released in 1977 on the Rumours album - and this performance was in 1997 from "The Dance" live tour - so 20 years to work through the pain. Lindsey (lead guitar) and Stevie (lead vocals) were in a relationship that broke up during the Romours album. Christine (keyboards) and John (base guitar) were married and got divorced. Mick (drums) was also married and ended up divorced shortly after.
I can't think of a single bad song Fleetwood Mac recorded. The drummer is Mick Fleetwood who is a giant of a man, hence the large drumkit and the bassist is John McVie, hence the name Fleetwood Mac. The keyboardist is Christine McVie who married John. The female vocalist is Stevie Nicks who has one of the most glorious rock voices ever. The lead guitarist is Lindsey Buckingham, who has a most unusual guitar playing style but is an absolute virtuoso. He was in a relationship with Stevie and she joined the band with him (it was a deal breaker) when the previous lead guitarist, Peter Green, left owing to mental health problems. There was rarely a month went by without some kind of friction in the band but on stage you would never know it. They are, for me, one of top 10 bands of all time.
To add a little clarity, it would've been a deal breaker had they not agreed to take Stevie as well as Lindsey: He insisted that he would only join if they took her as well, as they were a duo.
There is so much to the music of Fleetwood Mac. So much history, the reason behind the song….the band members etc. just to share one tid bit you may not have known. The blond lady in the middle. Stevie Nicks…..she is one of the most famous female singers of all time…..not only was Fleetwood Mac a rock n roll hall of fame group and a top ten band of all time. Stevie Knicks is the only female singer in the rock n roll hall of fame in a group…..and as a individual performer. Yes….difficult feat to have an individual career as successful as what she was in a band. Unbelievable…actually.
Lead guitarist Lyndsey Buckingham wrote this about his relationship with lead singer Stevie Nicks. She then wrote a song in response--"Dreams", it was their only number #1 hit. You should react to that song next.
One of my all time favorite bands saw them live in 1991. Books written about them, Both Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood wrote autobiographies. They have such a fascinating history. Someone needs to make a movie of there journey. The Band went through many changes through there history This was undoubtedly there greatest lineup The Band Founding Members Mick Fleetwood on Drums John McVie on Bass The Late Christine McVie on Keyboards was married to John Mc Vie joined the band in 1974 Then there is The greatest vocalist of all time Stevie Nicks and on Guitar Lindsey Buckingham. Who were a couple before joining and during there time with the band prior to joining the band they released one album simply called Buckingham Nicks
Stevie Nicks on lead vocals along with Lindsay Buckingham they were both an item back then Christine and John Mcvie where the British side of the band Christine on Piano John on Bass guitar Mick Fleetwood on drums was also going through a divorce with his wife. Lyndsay Buckingham was also the lead guitarist. You should listen to little lies by Christine Mcvie.
This album came out, when I was 16 and I played and played and played it ... first because of the great music and second because I had a crush on Stevie Nicks ... she was so (Biss) cute back then 🤣❤ and Go your own way was my favourite song, because as a young german I didn't understand (and care) what they were singing about ... I simply loved the music 🤘
Congrat Bisscute for choose this great great song For me Fleetwood Mac is one of the greatest bands of 70s and 80s And a few greatest hits in these years With the greats girl singers with Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie twoamazing vocalist ever... ‘Packin’ up, jackin’ up, something you won’t do…’ Song is literally about taking Heroin…. Also Mick Fleetwood is one of the most underrated drummers of all time. The muppet ‘animal’ was based of Mick Fleetwood. And they say Keith Moon and Bill Ward
During the making of the Rumors album in the 70s, there were two couples in the band that broke up at the same time. The bassist and the keyboardist were getting a divorce. Also the guitarist and female vocalist were breaking up a long relationship. That's why they are looking at each other so much during this song.
This song came out in 1977. They stayed together till 2018-19 final tour. I was 14 when this song was popular. This band had a lot of history and made it.
I graduated from high school in 1977. My biggest regret was, I always wanted to see them in concert, but never got the chance. RIP Christine McVie. Musician and singer
@@stevenwoodward5923 I never saw them either. I actually was more familiar with Fleetwood Mac as a blues band. The album ‘Play on’ is great. Peter Green played guitar for the band for awhile. Much different styles from the 60’s to the late seventies.
Another great reaction to a legendary rock band Bisscute, I like the way today's youth is finding bands and singers that have paved the way for today's music, to that I say thank you, never forget who came before, another band you have to check out are the Mavericks with "Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down" ( live from Austin TX), you can't sit down at a Mavericks show, you got to get up and dance!!!
Simply stunning
I hear this a lot, but he also wrote go your own way, which took a dig at her. Silver springs might be a better song, but go your own way is probably they’re most known

Isso! Cantar perto!! Estar perto! Ainda falar pra todos saber de suas vidas!! #senhores só tem unica vez!!
One of my favorite bands there’s a history between Lyndsey and Stevie
Hi B , my son and I are both huge fans. I must say with this song studio version is a must.
I had a chance to see Lindsey Buckingham in concert a few years back in a small venue. The concert was fantastic, Lindsey is such a great musical talent. R.I.P. to Christine. I wish all members of the band the best of luck.
I love her reaction to this song but especially I love her accent!!
You must listen to the live version of "Silver Springs" from the same concert. It was so tense, it was great!
Christy McVie was the Keyboard Player and vocalist as well she passed away in 2022.
If I remember correctly, this was a reunion concert. Lindsey and Stevie had both left the band for awhile. You can tell from the emotions in this performance, that some time has passed since the breakup.
A few decades judging by how much older they look!
actually it is an anger beat...the album rumors mick fleetwood's drumming just takes it to another level and always gave me the spine tingles...even mcvie's bass is fantastically harsh
The line You can call it another lonely day, gets me every time
This is the best road trip song ever!
Rumors is one of the best albums ever made. Certainly one of the greatest in the 70’s. Lindsey Buckingham is a genius musician and an incredibly talented band. Would be great if you reacted to hit after hit from this iconic album.
Hello Miss Bisscute !!! ( RIP Christine McVie 🌹💔 😭 ) another tremendous Artist lost to the world 🌎 A beautiful light 🕯️ indeed one of my personal favorites is A slow song called
( Song bird ) on 🎹 piano Yet Eva Cassidy covered it on Guitar 🎸
Both are most excellent takes you should hear for yourself !!!
As always the like button 🔘 has been Illuminated.😎👍👍🎃💀
This song was done by Lindsey Buckingham and sung by him. His take on what Stevie Nicks meant to him at the time.
Ohh great group, great songs, ,like other guy said keep the 70-80's coming 👍
I love Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. Gypsy is probably my favorite song.
Joni Mitchell-Woodstock (1969 Live)
Kinda felt like sharing a song 🤷♂️👋🙂👍

Great Band liked them for years.
yes ...this was in front of everyone, but they had such a great band they stayed together
The first single record I ever bought was Fleetwood Mac's 'Man of the World' and it's still worth a listen.
Soch a phenomenal band. Love 'em.
Given that the original release of this song was back in the 1970's, "Fleetwood Mac" still sounded great in 1997.
The two Fleetwood Mac songs you MUST react to one day are "The Chain" (live if you want to see and feel the tension), and "Songbird"!!
John and Christine McVee still to this day still play with Fleetwood Mac. You should listen to "Tusk". It's a great fun song.
For something you hVe probably not seen before, watch the performance of "Tusk" from this The Dance concert. The USC marching band joins them!
Awesome song and group.Stevie and Lindsay had been in a relationship and this song is they're prospectives of it.keep the 70s and 80s comin😁
Fleetwood Mac will always get you a thumbs up from me.
Que talento de todos!!! Nisso sol!! Stevie Nicks! Que presente pra o planeta! Terra!! Estrelas....que ainda estão aqui!!
The Band went through many changes through there history
This was undoubtedly there greatest lineup
The Band
Founding Members Mick Fleetwood on Drums
John McVie on Bass
The Late Christine McVie on Keyboards was married to John Mc Vie joined the band in 1974
Then there is The greatest vocalist of all time Stevie Nicks and on Guitar Lindsey Buckingham. Who were a couple before joining and during there time with the band prior to joining the band they released one album simply called
Buckingham Nicks
Another great reaction Biss, thanks :)
The Drummer is Mick Fleetwood who put this Iconic Band together
My first concert. Blew my mind.
Of course, they’re much older here.
If you see the video of them playing silver springs live, you can see the emotions in that big time.
One of my favourites all time 😎🇧🇻
This album came out, when I was 16 and I played and played and played it ... first because of the great music and second because I had a crush on Stevie Nicks ... she was so (Biss) cute back then 🤣❤ and Go your own way was my favourite song, because as a young german I didn't understand (and care) what they were singing about ... I simply loved the music 🤘
I would happily watch you listen to every Fleetwood Mac song ever.

Lucky to see fleetwood mac in 2015 brilliant Lindsay on guitar 🎸
From an albun that is in the top 10 bestselling album of all time, so go girl, you can dig into the Mac :)
‘Packin’ up, jackin’ up, something you won’t do…’
Song is literally about taking Heroin….
Also Mick Fleetwood is one of the most underrated drummers of all time.
The muppet ‘animal’ was based of Mick Fleetwood. And they say Keith Moon and Bill Ward
This is an angry, aggressive song. That's why it is continual with the beat and the pressure.
Rumors a jewel you have to get in your discography !!
During the making of the Rumors album in the 70s, there were two couples in the band that broke up at the same time. The bassist and the keyboardist were getting a divorce. Also the guitarist and female vocalist were breaking up a long relationship. That's why they are looking at each other so much during this song.
The other side of the argument, such as it was, can be heard in "Dreams" and "Silver Springs".
I recommend this from the same show "Fleetwood Mac - Tusk LIVE @ "The Dance" it has a surprise in the middle. I think you will like this.
I always always loved 🥰 Fleetwood Mac 😁👌
Neil Finn opened up for them on this tour and they would frequently bring him out.
Silver Springs from this live show is phenomenal song AND live version.
I remember watching a Marvel movie called Guardians of the Galaxy and it made me love the Fleetwood Mac song, “The Chain”
In the studio version, the introduction isn't nearly as long.
Fleetwood Mac have many, many great songs.
