Despite the decades of interpersonal drama they had, when the five of them are playing live you can just feel how music is just absolutely their first love. Mick Fleetwood always looks like an ecstatic puppy. Their joy is so contagious. Their live performances never fail to bring me to tears.

Yes, it's a real life soap opera. I remember seeing them play in London at the Rainbow just after Rumours was released and they were already in turmoil then. We juvenilely joked that Christine wasn't so perfect... The looks they were giving each other really added to the power of their performance. maybe that was their way of just getting through it all. Memorable, nearly half a century ago.
I could watch Mick Fleetwood beating the drums all day. The energy, pain, intense look and excitement on his face as he strikes every beat of the drums. He really gets into the music.
I'm 73 now and I can still remember how in the mid 70' when this album helped me get through one of the most intense emotional crises I've ever been through. Thank you.
@@trustnuthinman5778 Hard work? The best songs from bands were sometimes made and recorded in 5 minutes. The beatles said that. For electronic music nowadays you need to be half engineer nowadays (knowing the softwares inside and out. Also mixing and mastering). I'd say it is as hard as learning an instrument. It used to be alot easier to create music!
April 1st, 2022.... as of today this is one of THE most amazing on-stage performances to me! Everyone is giving 120%... This is music, handmade, no drum-computer and, most importantly: passion!
So nice to hear real human talent and not computers and electronics. This is the last of an era when skills talent and passion actually meant something!! It all compliments each other so smoothly.
Yup I saw it too; it was a little more intense than that, with Christine just looking sad. At one point Stevie walks towards the drummer-was he the one she had an affair with? Amazing group dynamics. Fantastic performance. Stellar all around
Stevie turns to face him at the crucial point of the song and Lindsey kind of screws up his face to dare to glance at her . Lindsey wrote this song and Stevie said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine "I very much resented him telling the world that 'packing up, shacking up' with different men was all I wanted to do," she told Rolling Stone. "He knew it wasn't true. It was just an angry thing that he said.
Well, I love all of them, but Stevie and Lindsay were an item for years, so who knows 🤷♂️ what is true or not? I am not here to worry about a soap opera!!! Lol
The incredible thing about Lindsay Buckingham's style is the way that he doesn't just play the guitar, he becomes part of the guitar and he extracts sounds that are otherwise impossible.
Yes Lindsey is a great guitarist. Not taking anything away from the others that have played with them in his stead but it just seems that it always takes 2 guitarists to take his place when he's not with them.
One of the greatest songs ever made, by one of the greatest rock bands in history! Your music will last forever, thank you Fleetwood Mac, true artist! RIP to the great Christine McVie, will never be forgotten
You should have heard them back in their early days when Peter Green was the guitar player. They were much more of a blues band then; Green was an incredible blues guitarist. Look him up online if you're into great guitar playing.
25 years since this performance and this song is still one of the greatest songs of all time and Lindsey Buckingham is one of the best guitar players on the planet and a musical genius!!!!!
David Bloom The first time I heard this song was on the radio in my VW bug in '76 I guess it was.I stopped at the first music store and bought the cassette and the vinyl album. Saw them in Columbia, S.C. not long after (I was 19,stationed at Ft. Jackson) Saw them again at the Cottonbowl in Dallas, might've been '79.
I remember EXACTLY where I was and EXACTLY what I was doing when this album came out. I was 15, meeting "new" relatives in another province....If you REALLY look hard at the band, their eyes, their faces, the only one that appears to be having a "good time/grooving" is the drummer, the others are looking like it's a chore to be there. Do you think maybe the audience at the time picked up on this? I did, right off the bat. Stilll lovin their music, but this performance feels strained.
I don't think in the history of music there has ever been a band with so many personal issues going on between band members AT THE SAME TIME. And fortunately for us, they turn that turmoil into some REALLY GREAT MUSIC.
Exactly, Peter Criss and Mick are my favorite drummers ever and underrated and underappreciated by far!!! Both, are why millions of people picked up drum sticks in the 70's and beyond!!!
Go check out Bruce Springsteen live version of My Home Town and I'm on Fire. Plus look up live from Daryl's house and look at hom and Ceelo Green do Crazy live it is awesome everybody should see these live performances
As a sound-guy I noticed the bass from the off, and thought they should have noticed that and cut the very low end a bit, it's too muddy with the kick and the ambience. :)
Fleetwood Mac along with other super-groups like The Eagles, Journey, Styx, and Van Halen shaped the music of the 80s and the genre that is Rock Music. There is nothing like them today and will probably never will be again.
I couldn't agree more. I saw them a few years earlier than '82...phenomenal. I've always thought Mick hasn't been fully honored for his talent. Amazing drummer.
You can see having the right drummer everything fits perfect. Just look at GNR after replacing Adler with Sorum their sound/groove/flow was never actually quiet the same

Amazing performance here. Lindsey Buckingham just killed the guitar solo and his vocals here were never better at any point in his career. And damn, you could tell Mick Fleetwood was really enjoying the drums on this night. Just outstanding!
The way Stevie and Lindsay stare at each other while singing "if I could, baby I'd give you my world" You can tell they still love each other deep down...
I know this is an old vid, but this live version absolutely killed it. It's like just as good as the studio, but maybe even better. His vocals were beyond awesome!
i totally agree its one of the best performances of Fleetwood Mac it seems to be at their peak and i am 61 years old so listening to them since they started lol

I have the original long playing record - Rumours, a collector item. Also originals of the many others above mentioned - I keep as them as priceless pieces.
Well, he is like my favorite drummer ever Peter Chris!!! Even on drugs and alcohol, both were better than 90 percent of the drummers in their prime, not named Bonham or Pert!!! Lol 🤣

I’m still here for Fleetwood in 2024, and enjoying their music just as much as in the seventies. This band never gets old! Everyone has their own style and talent 😮
Took for granted the genius back in the day... ageless.
Agree 100%
All legends, but damn can Lindsey Buckingham play that fuckin guitar 🎸 and Mick Fleetwood on the 🥁!!!
Despite the decades of interpersonal drama they had, when the five of them are playing live you can just feel how music is just absolutely their first love. Mick Fleetwood always looks like an ecstatic puppy. Their joy is so contagious. Their live performances never fail to bring me to tears.
Yes next to the beach Boys they were #1😊😊😊don't stop was the best.
I agree totally. It’s also the chemistry between them, it’s palpable, and moves me beyond my own thoughts. Magical
That is the funniest explanation of Mick Fleetwood I’ve ever heard.
A great performance, no ifs or buts.
Mick looks like he having a blast. Who would'nt
Lindsey Buckingham is just an absolutely incredible musician. Hes a legend
They brought in two guitarists at the same time, and STILL couldn't replace him.
And Mick Fleetwood on drums, what a great performance
Nobody can replace Mr. Lindsay Buckingham, or Mick, or the girls 👧!!!!!
Not just Lindsay Buckingham doing it, but John McVie is killing it on bass. Perhaps the most under rated bass player of all time.
yup, shredding it on bass without any theatrics.
Come on, what BS...he plays the bass in Fleetwood Mac, he is not underrated !
26 Mio Views. Underrated?
That’s like saying Lyndsey is the most underrated guitarist of all time or Mick Fleetwood is the most underrated drummer…
By underrated you mean you never heard about him?
Blows my mind seeing them looking at each other when they sing. Especially “If I could, baby I’d give you my world”
Key words being “if I could” 🤔
Yes, you can hear the emotion in their voices.
Yep, sadly they were so toxic together but such amazing music created.

Can you imagine singing a song you wrote about your ex with them 20 years later?! Their story is heartbreaking but it gave us amazing music!!
Fleetwood Mac doesn’t exist if Lindsey isn’t playing. He’s absolutely amazing. Brilliant musician
Don't discount the Peter Green era. Very different musically (more blues than rock) but some phenomenal work like Man of the World or Green Manilishi

Probably not as underated as Roy Buchanan
His finger tips must be pure callous. Never see him use a pick or rubbers.
This is laughable. He's been highly regarded for many decades!
Please remember when Mick was asked to choose between Peter and Lindsay, he said, “Both!!!”

It was amazing!

And never will this was talent and hard work not electric everything bless our days

Yea, so very true.
Stevie and Lindsey essentially having a lover's quarrel right there in front of the world. Amazingly great.
Yup I saw it too; it was a little more intense than that, with Christine just looking sad. At one point Stevie walks towards the drummer-was he the one she had an affair with? Amazing group dynamics. Fantastic performance. Stellar all around
@@vrc2836 Yes, Stevie had an affair with the drummer
Stevie turns to face him at the crucial point of the song and Lindsey kind of screws up his face to dare to glance at her .
Lindsey wrote this song and Stevie said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine "I very much resented him telling the world that 'packing up, shacking up' with different men was all I wanted to do," she told Rolling Stone. "He knew it wasn't true. It was just an angry thing that he said.
That's what made it great as well as how amazing they all are, but the weird starring chemistry between Stevie and Lindsay!!! Lol
Well, I love all of them, but Stevie and Lindsay were an item for years, so who knows 🤷♂️ what is true or not? I am not here to worry about a soap opera!!! Lol
Mick Fleetwood always looks like he's having the time of his life drumming.
