Out of 10 phenomenal songs, My Orion is my favorite one. It even makes me quite emotional, that whole mixture of melody, nostalgia and Asamis voice hits a special point in me. And the solo part, man, so beautiful. That one guitar note shortly after the beginning... chills all over. One of my favorite Lovebites solos ever. Believe me, you'll like this song even more with every new listening 🤘🏻🙂
Lost In The Garden reminds me of something a folk metal band from Sweden called "Falconer" would do. Gallup, great riffs and solos, storytelling and double bass galore! My Orion is becoming one of my favorites songs on the album. Soldier Stands Solitarily right now is my all time favorite Lovebites song!!! Cheers!
I've heard quite a few people say that "My Orion" is the weakest song on the album. I don't get it! I love that song. I've listened to over and over again. My foot can't stop tapping and my face can't stop smiling. I agree that it's very 80s, but 80s done right.
"My Orion": When the song starts, for 4 measures, Haruna hits the snare on an upbeat. Then she switches and hits that snare on the downbeat. That is awesome. They are always doing stuff like this to make the music more interesting.
Ah Cheezy - we think so much alike. Been listening to the CD in my car (So much better than Digital or YT quality). I keep coming back to My Orion. Such an amazing Beat in that chorus, Great lead guitar break, and the tempo is perfect for really aggressive Head Banging. It has unexpectedly risen to my Favorite on this Album. 🤘🐺🤘
Asami has emerged as a truly great songwriter. Giant labels would kill to have the writing and composing talent of Asami, Mao and Miyako on call, not to mention the brilliant contributions from Midori and Haruna (and of course Miho in Lovebites 1.0). Can't wait to see what Fami comes up with.
Victor does have Mao and Asami write for other groups. Both were heavily involved in Lonesome_Blue's debut EP. I don't know if Asami will be doing more work like that though with Lovebites back.

I love My Orion! It has such a great groove to it and, of course, Asami's vocal is stellar! I've heard you mention the Queensryche vibe in your previous LOVEBITES reactions and I couldn't agree more. I saw Queensryche back in November, opening for Judas Priest, and during their set I was overcome with a LOVEBITES vibe. When you Listen to a Miyako song you must peal back all of the layers. She is very crafty and her classical influence is weaved in everything that she composes. Even if she does not tell you about certain composers or compositions that are laced into her songs, they are there. She has a lot of hidden goodies in her songs. Take her riffs and solos and put them on a piano and you will see...
The whole album is masterfully done. I really love both of these songs, but Lost in the Garden is my favorite of the whole album. I think Asami’s lower range in the verses allows the chorus (and later key change) to pop more in contrast making it more epic. The prog and classical music elements are fantastic. Miyako ftw. My Orion is a nice tempo change in the album with a super catchy chorus, good stuff. This album is amazing, I wouldn’t question anyone selecting any song on it as their favorite. Soldier Stands Solitarily is an epic masterpiece, looking forward to the next reaction.
These 2 keep growing on me every time I hear them. I wonder if the keyboard parts are able to be done one handed. If so, I can see Miyako doing her party trick if they do them live. Oh bliss!
As self proclaimed World’s Greatest Asami fan I take issue with you on her vocals in “Garden”. For one thing, it’s unfair and unrealistic to expect her to sing in a higher register throughout every song. Besides, it would be monotonous (literally). And for another, it’s her use of deep, mid and high range vocals that sets her apart. It’s what makes her vocals sound so melodic in addition to Miyako’s beautiful classical melodies.
What I like about Asami's voice is, it is unique in itself and doesn't sound like any other voice that I Kana think of, and believe me when I say I've tried to compare it, but as soon as you hear it, you instantly recognise it as Asami. Love her voice👌👌👍👍👍🐺🐺🤘🤘
That's the thing with Lovebites... we all know how good they are when they're being fast and aggressive, but it can overshadow the fact that when they dial it back, they are absolute masters of catchy hard rock as well! My Orion isn't just a simple song either, there's a lot of interesting stuff going on in the background, and I love the way that when the song's closing, Asami adds only what sounds good, never going over the top to be a "diva".. Extraordinary band.
Hey Cheezy! On this album it's harder for me to tell which solos are Midori's and which ones are Miyako's. The last few times I've listened to My Orion it has reminded me of Journey as well, more specifically Separate Ways, I would consider it to be the power ballad of this album. Stay cheezy my friend🧀🤘!
You are right, its difficult to tell the difference. I am only depending on the fact of Miyako's inclination to manipulate the Wah Pedal, and the Steve Vai / Satriani sound coming from Midori. Hell, this whole discography contains very complex, intricate and unique compositions molded and modeled by a group of elite level, creative and crazy accomplished musicians offering a metal extravaganza beyond compare.

I got lost in my feels the other night playing these two songs on repeat, just off the melodies and Asami's singing, not knowing any lyrics. Couldn't get to sleep for these women playing songs all night in my head! I'm not a metal fan, but DAMN sure a LOVEBITES fan!! Lost in the garden is Miyako's song, her compositions are always aggressively beefy and very proggy, so many changes and those bass fills by Fami are so dang explosive. Miyako's songs freaking drive me nuts with excitement. I do love the entire album but the 4 songs Miyako wrote are top-notch for me. Yeah, I have noticed that in most if not all of the studio songs Asami is muffled down as opposed to the live show is where she shines and the music videos. My Orion is a slower song when Mao normally loves to compose super fast songs, and for me, this one is the best of the 6 he wrote it is more solid heavy metal/hard Rock style and I love it. Yeah, that's it I couldn't put my finger on it but you're absolutely right with the Journey and Dokken vibe. I could hear this song on Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime for sure and I could hear DeGarmo or Lynch pull off solos like this
I was watching the video soldier stand solitarily, and focused on the composer extraordinaire: her casual and playful demeanor and that nerdy look is so unlikely to belong to an elite metal composer, but yet as far is gets, the reality is, I am watching the ultimate in her true form. And that is Miyako. Perhaps what she has running up above her shoulders could be the eighth wonder of this world. And those with her becoming the ninth wonder of the world. Amazing what these ladies can conceive,and design and execute in immaculate perfection.
