they are criminally underrated, underappreciated. hopefully they put out more content with the rerelease of the guernica album. i so badly need a live performance of church.

Asterism without vocal is what makes them unique.

Holy sh**! Right before you said it, I was thinking this sounds like an Eric Johnson track ("Cliffs of Dover"). 🤯

This bass player is unreal, almost other worldly. They are probably the best musicians of all the rock bands to come out of Japan recently. Being a lover of lyrics, I come and go with this band. Like I said, this bass player has IT.

The bass guitar was specially made only for him by ESP, that's what I heard...

ESP Miyu custom 7-string bass. Miyu had a 7-string bass before and this one since September 2018 ( if i'm correct ).

Miyu's bass was custom made for him by ESP when he was 17 (yeah a custom made, you can't get it, bass for a 17 y.o.). Hal-Ca and that thrift shop Yamaha/Pacific that she beats the hell out of yet it takes a beating and keeps on going. This band has been one of my top 5 favorites for last 4 years and it is criminal that the "No Vocalist" label keeps them from super stardom. Hal-Ca has the Hendrix vibe with that ax in her hand and Miyu with that 7 string monster is a beast. Poor Mio on drums never gets any shine time yet he is the one who keeps these 2 monsters on track and in tune perfectly in each and every song. As a band they have been together since Hal-Ca was 11, Miyu 12 and Mio 14. Dawn is still the one video I want people to experience (th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html), small club due to ages and lack of exposure but the string work here is sensational to behold. These teens write, arrange and play this fusion of Metal/Hard Rock/Jazz into a stunning sound and just recently graduated high school. BabyMetal's label just signed them so maybe more exposure in the future. Hey did you catch them at Rain Lily Farm in Austin on 3/19/2019 if not here is a clip, people walked by ignoring what could be a super group like Cream before they are done, (th-cam.com/video/0MF2wSk60iU/w-d-xo.html). They did these battle session on Facebook for their fans when they were still starting out.

That 7 string bass was create and customized by ESP just for him. Hal-ca is using Yamaha Pacifica guitar and Yamaha also gave her another new guitar Yamaha Revstar.

Asterism are awesome, I've followed them for about 4 years, formed in 2017. Hal-Ca is still only 18 & the boys a little older. Another great instrumental band from Japan are D_Drive. They added a new bassist a little over 12 months ago, I dropped a link below if you want a private view of them or to react to them. The choice is obviously yours.
Thank you for the Asterism reaction, muchly appreciated.

They are superb musicians I hadn't heard this song yet, they have a very jazzy/classical style in their metal, you may be right a really good front singer may help get more attention. Or if they all could harmonize and switch out singing roles on a few songs.

The third EP, 'GUERNICA' was released December 9th, 2020.
'GUERNICA + a' will be officially released September 15th, 2021, and includes four more tracks.
The pre-release versions of 'STARS' and 'THEN & NOW' dropped about a month ago.
The 'GUERNICA' album has their most progressive stuff yet.
    Highly recommended.

Hal-Ca all grown up now! Maybe she'll start to earn some money so she can replace that battered old Yamaha of hers! Just kidding. They're phenomenal talents... all three of them.

Love me some Asterism but I am afraid you may be right that they need a vocalist to get really big. Time will tell.

  • @salsaucedo

They have a few videos out there with a couple of singers and it's not too shabby but IMO I don't think they are going to get very lucky to get an amazing vocalist that is just as talented as they are. I love these kids and bought all of the EP's and album. They are a force to be reckoned with and it is a sad thing that many reactors that I have suggested them to don't bother with them. many are stuck on baby metal and band maid so they really don't give this band let alone other bands a chance to be heard. Oh Well it is what it is and it's their loss. I got to see them live back in 2019 in Austin at the SXSW music festival and we were all blown away. I hope they come back soon along with Lovebites and Mardelas

I wish I had seen them in Austin! They're so good. Personally, I LOVE Babymetal, but there's no reason I can't love many other bands, too. So, keep 'em coming!

100% not agree for vocal in this band. Asterism is perfect this way.

  • @nocturnal277

They should keep it instrumental. If they add a vocalist the whole concept of their music will change. You don't need lyrics to feel music.

Yes, I know this band well. But you are WRONG! As another commenter has stated, "They don't need a lead singer. A singer would just fuck it up!" The world is already full of cookie-cutter bands. Asterism are perfect the way they are, and just need to get more exposure. Which might happen, now that they have a label promoting them.
