I could see the future being a bit more advanced then that. Maybe they could place the sealed box on some kind of sensor and just read the pathways of those primitive chips to obtain the data, never letting that 20'th century air escape in the process. Then, let their AI upgrade that data to the holo room for interaction.

Here’s something that I noticed. When you put the magazines on the shelf that they aren’t very flat going vertically. I have collected a bunch of magazines over the years, and I bag and board them like comics to keep them flat and nice. Not sure if you are looking to do that to those Nintendo Power magazines, but with how those look, I would have bagged and boarded them. Also, I have saved the media shelves you mentioned and where to buy them so I’ve got that one and even the larger one saved for later when I’ve got a place for a game room. Thanks!

Game grading is a double edged sword as although it might up the top end of the market it also creates excitement for those of us just grinding and discovering :) The power will always remain in the hands of the collectors, and as long as the grading remains monitored and we as the purse holders don’t start bowing to “this would be a 9.7 if it was graded!!!!!” BS then it’ll all be good. The comic book industry has managed to retain an element of control, so why not us?

This has effectively change retro game collection in the absolute worst way. Its not even slightly worth it anymore. All passion has been sucked dry and replaced with value and grades. This video is proof.

Grading has been the holy grail in most novelties and niches like toys, comics, cards and videogames and it's always been rather a roller coastet ride. Why not profit from it? From a gaming perspective I have always said that I would by two copies for the collection so to keep one and play with the other. Xd. But due to moves some vintage games were open and due to meddling cousins over the years a majority of my sealed collection broke. I wish i graded that way they would be protected. Now rebuilding it has been rather hard.
Books I read were Dungeon and Dragons and Forgotten Realms. I also enjoyed the 'Choose your Own' stories and the Redwall Chronicles.

14:20 - I believe the two grey discs are "preview" discs intended for journalists and film reviewers. They're not worth much but they're kinda neat (Well actually it says you get a big fine for selling them, so that's why they get donated). I got a Spider-Man 2002 one once. I really like the minimalist case and disc, it's region free, and it also starts straight into the movie instead of having any ads or piracy warnings etc. kind of makes me want to start a collection of them since I'm assuming the studio would have used the same case layout for all their preview discs.

Games, movies, action figures, clothes, etc. I cant wait to keep watching your content. Even though i was born in 98', you have broughy back alot of memories from my childhood. We were very poor growing up, so i got hameydowns an yard sale gold for birthsdays an Christmas. An im kinda grateful for it. Got to gain a love for all these things.

Rick, love the content. One of my favorite channels. Being I am at the age of 51, this all takes me back. I catch myself watching everyday. Idea for you, maybe get you some picture frames and put in the magazines and mount them above each shelf. This will keep the magazines from falling over on the corners and will give you the room of the new shelves to display in front of the magazines. Keep up the FIRE!!!!

If its over 20 years old and sealed i think grading them is excellent. It means there are few left out there and they need to be preserved as part of gaming history. Having newer items graded is ok too because eventually they will be just as rare as what we call retro now. If having a seales collection is your investment for the future or just your way of collecting no one should have any issue. Its all about what makes YOU happy!

I'm an og Nintendo Power subcriber. Got in right around second year, thanks to my aunt. Then searched for those issues me and my cousins missed. When I moved out, no room for my stuff, and my mom and brother have no idea what happened to the years and years of copies. Just like my Official Players Guide, that came with my 1987 NES instead of a game.
How many OG cartridges you rip as a kid? I can remember my cousins and I ripping all the sweet cartridges! Millions ripped open.
