Phoenix did say he could go out and buy it all, but wanted the hunt. Keep in mind it helps him making content + the resell to acquire more funds. I’m sure there are more collections for sale .. for the right price.
I've bought and sold the entire GameCube collection and trust me getting rid of all that stuff for the prices it sells for now was a lot more exciting than having any of those games sitting around.
Epic!! You should do a series where you play games you've never played before! That'd be really fun to watch and now you have an endless supply of new games.

It's cool how straightforward you guys were with each other. He was up front that he's selling the collection to fund a business, you're up front that you're gonna flip some to recoup your costs. Selling all of those games in individual online listings would take a long time and a good chance that several would never sell, so I can understand why he'd want to sell the entire collection in bulk at a discount rather than trying to sell each one individually himself. Very cool to hear all the details and see all the games... thanks for sharing!
I would take the door off the hinges to the closet and definitely put a bookshelf where the game shirts are.
I sold a 40 years collection a couple years ago of thousands of games and a few complete libraries and went completely digital, but man I still get excited watching this. No regrets.

A little sad for Matt having to sell his collection BUT I know he did it for good reason. If I were to ever buy a big lot of games, who better than someone that appreciates and takes care of them and that’s a gaming/collector.
Glad he was able to keep it in our fantastic TH-cam gaming community. A big spend BUT well worth it if you can afford it.

15:28 I use to have so many NES games in those black sleeves, lost them in a house fire sadly years ago, I’m actually getting a bit teary eyed seeing such a vast collection again. I’m pleased to see that there are people out there looking after them.

Anybody else a little bummed he’s completing his collections via these expensive buys of other people’s collections? Part of what I liked about his channel was his hustling through thrift stores to find the games. Like, where does he go from here?

Wow you are definitely lucky my guy. I tried recently twice through ebay to buy the complete gamecube collection and my best offer was 16k both times and the deal didnt happen. JUST the gamecube collection so you definitely got a 10-15k in extras. Literally amazing hopefully I get a deal like this one day...

It's kind of funny how we can judge our life and events based on video game consoles.
My earliest memories include the Commadore 64 and Atari.
Then many years later my son and I started playing on the Gamecube.
The gamecube has always been number 1 with me. The controller, the games... just many great memories with that system.

Amazing pickup! Fyi these plastic case keep the moisture and are actually bad for the games and manuals, i remember hearing about it from Last Gamer, i believe he was told about this from a museum curator, the games need to breathe
You should take down the shelf and go with a custom shelf that goes wall to wall. If you did floor tk ceilingand wrapped aroun the corner you would have like twice that shelf with all that wasted apace and still leave room for that door to open.

Simple thought really. When you know you have tons of cash on hand then why not make it happen, plus you know you are about to make a big investment soon that you want to make sure you made a good investment

@@collind9753 no you didn't pay attention of what he said his whole collections are found in the wild talking about his collections how he got them, and I know the rules of his 10 buck's collections but in the intro, he always mentions his whole collections and said that exact I mean it's ok to break your code or rules because everyone does that. Hard to say no to a complete collection of GameCube when you have money to buy it.

What an insane collection for sure Retro Rick. Chase recently spent $15k on a collection as well. Its cool seing all this games in one spot.
As much as i love all the recent accomplisments and things you've been doing, idk if its just me or not but something feels off. I think it's because we all probably followed the page because he was Goodwilling and Flea Marketing like a lot of us do.... now he's bought a storage locker of games and paid 20k to buy a collection from another TH-camr. Like they were cool videos.... but "hit different" as the kids say.
He got rich off TH-cam. Now he has so much excess income he is naturally not going to put In the laborious time it takes to source items,flip and resell for 10 dollars profit, when he can just outright buy any game he ever wanted.

Glad I've never been a collector and ever focussed on what I want to play and keep what I probably want to replay or where I have connected memories with. I always get the feeling when I own something which I dont use, it's in my way. And also, it is not very often, that I enjoy a retro game which I have missed in the past.
But I know, collecting is a different genre and if you happy with your big pick up, it is probably the best you can do.

What gets me is not even a few years back Nintendo GameCube Games were dirt cheap and couldn’t give them away except Fire Emblem and a few other games but overnight it went through the roof as far as price’s!
