Jim Marshall was a model of consistency, but in the bright lights of the Super Bowl, 4 times he never made a play. I am a Viking fan and have a watches all 4 games multiple times, and can’t remember a single sack, tackle for loss, or pass knocked down. Ho knocked down a pass in 1976 in the NFCCG that he should have caught, but when playing against the best, he disappeared. Very good player for a very long time, but utterly dominated by his Super Bowl opponents. As was Tingelhoff, who somehow got in.
My favorite team and year of the Vikings because of all the players Front Four of the DL the LB's the Defensive backfield the Offense Joe Kapp the RBs Dave Osborne Boom boom Bill Brown the Offensive Line the TE John Beasley the WR's Gene Washington and John Henderson the Special Teams and Bud Grant and his Coaching staff and that special place they played on the Frozen Tundra in Metropolitan Stadium and that very special year 1969❤!
Jim Marshall needs to be inducted into the Hall of Fame......IT IS SHAMEFUL that he is still not
Absolutely agree...
It's a crime that Jim Marshall isn't in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
