- The Vikings are one of the most successful teams in NFL history, all they are missing is a Super Bowl. The Vikings were NFC champions four times in eight years, but lost every single time they made the Super Bowl. These Vikings were led by Coach Bud Grant, the "Purple People Eaters" defense, and an offense featuring QB Fran Tarkenton.
That Oscar Reed run vs Wash, and the Page pick-6 I shall never forget.
70s Vikings: Probably the best team in NFL annals to never go all the way.
Vikings are winning-est team to never win a Superbowl with an all time win percentage of 54.6% putting them 9th overall and the only team in the top 10 to never win a SB
The vikes ruled the 70's
My Vikes 🏈💔
Carl Eller,Alan Page, Roy Winston. Favorite players for the Vikings. Defensive Standouts. Don't make them like that anymore.
Paul Krause! I got to meet him
At training camp
What a shame. So many good teams but, didn't play well on Super Bowl Sunday. I love Bud Grant but, I think he was out coached in the Super Bowls. The Vikes never held a lead at any point or scored a single point in the first half of their 4 Super Bowls.
You can't be a Dynasty when you LOSE all the time when it counts. Dynasties are WINNERS. That is what makes them Dynasties. Because they are at the top. Vikings are always in second place. Plain and simple. You're at best a regular season dynasty if even that. But that's all.
Yep, that's why I put dynasty in quotes and added NFC to the title. Great teams but couldn't get it done in the Super Bowl.
Alright dude, fine........please don't come after us with your sawed off shotgun.....
Unfortunately, the Vikings played the best iconic teams in the Superbowls they lost ! The SuperChiefs, the no-name Miami defense with a punishing running game, the Steel Curtain and the Black Hole Raiders. All these teams are among the all-time greats. Unfortunately for the Vikings
Chiefs Steelers Dolphins and Raiders were all on steroids at that time!
