The Metrodome never had transparent panels. They were just lighter than before. It was always a fairly bright stadium, as far as indoor stadiums go, thanks to the white Teflon roof that let in some light.

I am a huge fan of placing villages around the stadium. You are correct, parking lots around the parks really takes away the designs of the stadiums today.

I visited Minneapolis in June 2019 and saw this stadium from the outside. It looks amazing! I’d love to get back to Minneapolis sometime for a Vikings game.

@Depressed Ginger My employer did the exterior glass for US Bank Stadium. Along with a group of coworker friends, we took a tour of the stadium in 2016 after the Green Bay game. Amazing place!

I was skeptical at first, but this turned out so much better than any retractable roof stadium. It really does feel like you're outdoors. And it's already paid off, 20 years early. Allegiant was a huge disappointment with the translucent panels instead of transparent. Mercedes Benz's roof is like looking through a tunnel, not much sunlight ends up inside. Where as this stadium was positioned and designed to take advantage of as much sunlight as possible, with the south roof transparent and the west side a wall of glass to catch the last of the setting sun. The only real letdowns are the zinc cladding, which has ended up looking like cheap steel siding and has needed a lot of repairs, and the problems with crime in downtown Minneapolis since 2020.

Along with a group of coworker friends, we took a tour of the stadium in 2016 after the Green Bay game. Amazing place! literally just popped up in my recommendations 😂love your videos! I wasn't at US Bank Stadium for a Vikings game, but I was there back in the summer of 2019 to volunteer for a National Youth Gathering. There were events at US Bank Stadium each night from the gathering that took place at US Bank Stadium. Being inside US Bank Stadium, I'm not going to lie, it was awesome. It's a spacious stadium, it looks like people can be seated comfortably, and you get a nice view of downtown Minneapolis from the stained glass roof on top of the stadium. US Bank Stadium has a unique design as DG pointed out, but in a way the way it was designed is genius. You're indoors, but still get an outdoors feel because you can still see the outside and the sun and natural light come in when it's nice outside. It doesn't really feel like you're inside a dome stadium.
I also like the area outside of the stadium. I think it's called The Commons area? Looks like it would be a nice area to tailgate before a Vikings game. Can you tailgate there before the Vikings games? I had a fun time at this stadium during the week of the gathering. I hope to visit US Bank Stadium again at some point for a 49ers-Vikings game. I'm a 49ers fan! I couldn't make it out for the 49ers-Vikings game there last month, and with the way the 49ers played that night, maybe it was good I didn't go to this game. LOL. But yes, I do hope to check out US Bank Stadium for a 49ers-Vikings game one day. But yes, the Vikings did a great job with this stadium! Not sure I would say US Bank Stadium is the best stadium in the NFL, but it's up there for sure. At least the Top 5 currently. 9:20 Not sure if Minnesota fans would agree but a Spring Training game, possibly the last weekend before the season starts when some teams play at their home ballpark, could be played a weekend at US Bank. Would be cool to see for the nostalgia and novelty. Or even a series where they play in City Connect uniforms as some sort of back-to-the-future type promotion. Seems like DG goes through the comments in previous videos and then makes another video lol U.S. Bank Stadium is a great stadium to watch any event at. It was also an amazing stadium to play a football game at in 8th grade. you say it's futuristic but it's actually based on a historic Vikings house. kind of cool how it followed a traditional Viking house from like Demark. US Bank stadium reminds me of an Anvil & I want to visit this stadium I am a huge fan of placing villages around the stadium. You are correct, parking lots around the parks really take away the designs of the stadiums today. US Bank Stadium is so unique it is absolutely a great facility well done Minnesota I was skeptical at first, but this turned out so much better than any retractable roof stadium. Okay, we got a new one. NATURAL LIGHTING BAR RAILS, NOW STADIUM VILLAGE You forgot to mention the Jags building a super stadium. Cause if you look at their renderings, it looks sick.
I’d be absolutely shocked if we hosted another Super Bowl. After how cold 2018 was and, although successful locally, the out-of-town and celebrity crowd weren’t too thrilled to have to be outdoors sometimes. However, I do believe we will host a few more Final Fours. The last one was a success and how many true indoor stadiums are there that are capable of being covered in blackout curtains like US Bank is in the country? Bro I knew you were crazy predicting the Saints would win there today haha tried to warn you. Our teams never win. I think Minnesota is the longest-suffering sports area. But man are our stadiums beautiful. Even after Target Center and Xcel got their renovations every one of the Big 4 stadiums is beautiful. Even our MLS team's stadium is beautiful. Ok...let's travel 40 years into the future...and the Vikings decide to build a new stadium...not too long after the Vikings move...let's say someone buys the building...they decide to remove all of the seating and stuff but leave the building up...and convert it into a massive indoor waterpark. I'd say that would be a great second life for it...just an idea... I am a not Packer fan and saw this stadium and was like “BOOOO!” Aesthetically it isn’t as beautiful as SoFi stadium. But it does have a Stealth Fighter aggressive presence to it. Do Salt Lake City and Orlando NFL expansion next I’m surprised your number 1 has a turf field, with the recent push for natural grass fields. As a Minnesotan. Nobody and I mean literally nobody wanted an outdoor stadium besides the Vikings owners. So the Government listened to the people and said that aint happening.
Viking ship design It ain't the best in the NFL. Lambeau and Arrowhead are far superior. Do like it and nicer than the Metro Dome. Better lighting for football The saddest team in the NFL has the "best" stadium, they would trade that stadium for 1 Super Bowl victory, which we all know will never happen.
Why haven't they hosted the CF playoff semi-final game or the National Championship? And maybe even a WrestleMania.

It's a terrible baseball venue, barely adequate even for college. The Twins want nothing to do with it. But it is very useful to have an indoor venue in the winter for high schools and colleges and it is pretty heavily used.

Drove by it and was impressed by its size. First thought was Noah's Ark. It did look like a technological space ship. They wanted to build an Eden Project in Iowa with those plastic bubble EFT panels. The snow and wind would ultimately win on those types of structures.

Lambeau has aluminum bench seating. Nostalgic, sure. Good, not really. The only reason they get away with it is because of their sweetheart special deal with the league that allows for public "ownership". A private owner would have left it decades ago.

They came into existence as publicly owned in 1919, BEFORE they entered the NFL in 1921. There is no deal with the league. I guarnatee you a private owner would leave it either with the money it makes as a tourist destination, which US Bank will never be.

As for your other claims, they are obviously subjective. The only time I sit on aluminum bleachers is when I'm watching my son play at the local high school.
