LIGHTENING MY DARK HAIR AT HOME WITH LOREAL HICOLOR l LEVEL 2 HAIR COLOR

- As a young gal I would often purchases box dye in an attempt to lighten my dark hair at home. I learned a thing or two from that experience: 1) all hair colors that lighten, including box dye, contains bleach (peroxide is a form of bleach as well) and 2) it is damn hard to lighten dark hair at home!
When you go to a professional they almost always use bleach to lighten dark hair. I refused to attempt that at home (I saw enough crazy TH-cam videos to convince that was not the move) and instead went to Sally Beauty and opted for Loreal Hicolor in Natural Blonde. Mayday, mayday: this does contain bleach! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
The results: lighter hair, not natural blonde or any blonde. I went from a Level 2 hair color to a Level 6 with a redish tone. That's because of the following:
- dark hair has natural red undertones
- the only thing that can lighten dark hair to blonde is bleach
My goal was indeed a blonde color, alas, it is a light brown with caramel highlights thanks to my balayage. I also ended up getting a cute haircut from my stylist. All in all, I love my new hair color! It wasn't what I wanted but it's exactly what I needed!

20 mins not enough. It took me almost 2 hours to get to please use some olaplex also. I used the ash blonde though. My hair was virgin low porosity. Still healthy and no damage. I need to do it one more time and then tone it. A girl on TH-cam used champagne vanilla L’Oréal hicolor and went all the way blonde one application so it can be done. I have the reddish undertones but I won’t tone it until I lighten it one more time. That toner did an amazing job.
I think the 40 vol would’ve gotten you closer to the color you were going for but i understand not wanting to damage your hair. Looks good though. Nice ombré.
I just done my hair hopefully it comes out nice and I love your singing you have a beautiful voice

Love you & your personality & your hair color. I have 1 question. I read the toner is suppose to be added to color & developer...curious why you did it after you finished
The directions didn't say that! Or maybe I read it wrong? That may have been the case lol. Thank you for watching!
@@lovesujeiry I appreciate you explaining the products. I have dark brown/grey hair. I tried the sandstone blonde. I do like the difference...subtle but nice. Gray hair is stubborn!

What products did you use?
Karla Carrillo-Castillo I used L’Oréal Hicolor in Honey Blonde with 30 developer. I toned with wella T14 but it didn’t tone my hair well as wella T14 is for blonde hair (level 4 at least) and I was not aware.
Love Sujeiry so what toner number would you suggest in wella if it comes out the same color as yours?
are you Brazilian?
Dominican!
You should be a professional singer.
I keep hearing this! Thank you!
I thought it was gonna be not good ..but at the end I was like oh okayyyyy. It looks fine .
Hahaha
That is not what 1:2 means lol 1 Tube of colour to 2 oz of developer. So 3 tubes of colour to 6 oz of developer.
