    I absolutely love your art and your videos! I’m trying to get comfortable adding more abstraction into my art and your videos help immensely. Your neutrals and composition are wonderful.

    To tell YOU the truth, I really love the European and Scandinavian artists!!! They have the feel for art!!!I love your "paintings", although, I first fell in love with Classicism, when I enrolled at the Academy of Art in Tielt, Belgium! I have done classic paintings, which has tones of Abstracts, but these days, and exactly 15 years ago, I developed the need to "abstract" by looking and making Mixed Media art! I kind of fall for your art now!

    Another inspirational and informative video!! Would love more information and demo of using and mixing neutrals. I also love the pop of color in the foreground. Please perhaps speak more about the uses of crayons for pops of color in a neutral painting!!

    Hi Marie!! I'm always so excited to see your newest videos, and this was another wonderful one!!
    Its very true the colors can be very crazy and fake looking, I've been working on this myself and have honestly really had SO much fun teaching myself to mix colors. I find i love it. Its somehow thrilling to make a color you are in love with and use in a painting. And part of doing that was to mix a bit more muted colors...still rich color, but toned down to a real plum or deep ocean or something, not just the oddly bright purple or "aqua" (don't get me wrong, most anything in the ocean color range i am a big fan of) ...but I've been loving making my own colors just by experimenting with very small dollops of paint in case I don't love it....for instance when I was looking to make a rich lovely grey and of course did ultramarine blue and burnt sienna it gave me that, but I wondered what phthalo blue would look like and it gave me my most favorite deep toned down more natural looking (just my opinion of course) blue/green that i wasn't at all expecting! I'm sure most on here totally knew thats what would happen mixing those, but its not till my old age that I'm trying to teach myself these things as ways to deal with my health issues. And color mixing has been so fun. I took a plain cheap sketchbook and have been using a page per color...like the main color and then mix with white bit by bit just to see what it looks like (and I use a small amount and just a small flat brush making like maybe a half inch by half inch swatch) and then below that i do more lines trying it with different amounts of different colors i may use one day like earth colors or Paynes gray or black....I've loved it!
    Sorry so long!😳
    But I'd love to see a mixing neutral colors video as mine still don't look as soft a calm and beautiful as yours!
    And your glazing over black video is one of my favorites because you at first think "There's no way this will look like any color over that dark black!" But, as always you come through and I learned a lot. As I do in every video!!
    You do a great job getting back to everyone and I think we all understand you can only do so much keeping up as you grow and are just happy that you're growing because you're a wonderful teacher and artist and should be shared :)
    Thanks for everything!!🥰

    • @TheDanishPainter
      @TheDanishPainter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's funny isn't it how color mixing can really exhilarating sometimes and other times just terribly frustrating....!! Yes phthalo blue and ultramarine blue make the loveliest of neutrals when mixed with burnt sienna. I will often use both combinations in a painting. And you're absolutely right that neutrals mixed of phtahlo blue and burnt sienna one are more blueish green. Very beautiful and perfect for seascapes :-)

    • @jadetobin
      @jadetobin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheDanishPainter yup, I agree! Wonderful and exciting one minute and I think I understand and then just make a mess of another color. Aahahahaahaha but such a fun thing to learn. I felt so proud of the first painting I did that was made from colors I had mixing myself looking for particular things...don't know why, but it was great. There's also something about the look of paint, to me, when I'm mixing larger batches, especially for my fluid art, and all the stirring, seeing the lovely thick smooth texture as I stir, and its just beautiful and relaxing...until my hands give out of course....but was still Wonderful while I could do it :) sometimes when I'm having trouble getting started I'll just go mix some beautiful colors to sort of get my juices flowing i guess. Or just swipe a beautiful color onto paper or canvas, no plan, just swiping that beautiful color is calming and some days its all my body will allow, but it's enough to give a bit of peace...and then my brain can work on ideas for after my body rests and I can get back to it later in the week :) color is wonderful :)

    Beautiful as usual. All the best with you channel Marie Louise. You’ve really helped me to loosen up, and for that I thank you. I love you channel and your art, and you come across as a lovely person, very thoughtful and considerate, gentle as well. I wonder I’d I could respectfully ask you a question. When you’re out in your local countryside, and you feel inspired by what you see before you, do you ever wonder how what we see, came to be here in the first place. Do you ever wonder if a creator of those lovely landscapes really exists.

    Hiya Marie Louise, Another great video, the use of neutrals is not really understood by a lot of beginners and they subsequently use lot's of colour which becomes garish. I love well balanced neutrals with some small accent's of pure colour. It's like adding a little bit of spice to cooking, not too much just enough to bring out the other flavours. Thanks very much Marie Louise and take care. David.x

    • @TheDanishPainter
      @TheDanishPainter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Joseph and thank you. Most of these pieces are just for my own reference to use for larger work on canvas. I haven't tried to iron but that is an interesting idea. Usually I just leave them in my sketchbooks where they then tend to flatten themselves out after a while.
