    Just when I think I've purchased my last mod, I find something I never knew existed but I now can't live without...

    The stick is a pain, but it never runs out of nitrogen and closes the hood on your head 😉

      Haha true but for $20 I'll replace them in a few years, plus the prop is still in there for exactly that situation ✌️ Thanks for watching bro!

    Every Explorer I ever owned had those nitrogen struts last 3 months longer than the 3/36, crapa replacements lasted about 3 months longer than the 12 month warranty, and I installed a stick😂😂

    I'm fine with the hood prop. Since I've had my 2018 Tacoma, I've had the hood open only about 2 to 3 times a year.

    You got to sand some of that paint under the ground with some dielectric grease, or at least the grease on the ground bolt. Your ground contact from factory is just the threads. New England salt will cause problems. Bad ground...half of all electric problems

    My lexus has hood struts or jacks or whatever theyre called. Toyota has been doing them over for 20 years on their “luxury” vehicles.

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I have them from factory on most of my vehicles...Toyota just likes to cut costs to puff up their bottom line! Thanks for watching and commenting! ✌️

    I did the sokie tech lifts, don't buy lifts with angled hood brackets. They don't support the hood and allow it to flex when you pull against it.

    How is this kit holding up? I like the fact that it’s no drill, but I’m a little concerned at the strength of where it mounts on the fender well. Any flexing?

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, thanks for watching, there's no flexing whatsoever, and they still lift as well as the day I put them on. I'm pretty impressed for such a low-cost kit.

      Hi Mario I actually can't share it, I got it off Amazon Canada. You can just go on Amazon where you are and look for "No Drill" Tacoma kits

    Would have been nice to see how the passenger side piece of plastic came off.

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment, it just pops off that plastic clip, so I didn't think it was needing an explanation. Fair point though if you are a novice on the tools. I'll keep that in mind on my upcoming Cat Shield install.

      @@canucktaco Thank you. Watching TH-cam videos are how we all learn. Personally I’m hesitant to “just pop” things off of a $50k vehicle unless I know how. 😀

    Nice job except now you have the cylinders in the way on each side where you said a piece of paper went and the hood was too low with the prop rod supporting the hood. Maybe Toyota didn’t want to reinvent the wheel. In the future like all cylinders they will lose pressure and need replacing at approx $50.

    Tacomas will last forever. You have no business under the hood besides oil changes
