If you don't want to mess with rain caps / coffee cans, ete... Another good idea is to drill weep holes in the lowest part of your exhaust pipe, thereby allowing any water that gets into them to leak back onto the ground.
Wow, messy! My trucks bed got filled up with 2-inches (doesnt drain well) of water last night during a big storm and this moring I found a bunch of large water beetles swimming around in their...who knew?! They liked it I guess.
It just has a updated stock turbo. Basically took the stock compressor wheel and housing off and installed a bigger one to flow more air. Look up Gillete Diesel and check out there 60mm GDS H1C turbo upgrade kit. The injectors a 6 hole injectors with .016 size holes. The stock ones for this year truck are 6 hole by .009. They are about 300 % bigger then stock.
@1958johndeere620 a few people around here have drain plugs in theirs, drill a hole, tap it out and put a bolt in, when it rains, take the bolt out and let it drain.
I used to have a Cummins with mitre cut stacks on it. Always kept coffee cans on the pipes whenever she was parked. If not cleaned up right away, that exhaust gunk (carbon, oil, water, etc mixture) is caustic to your paint job. Not to mention, it's a bitch to clean up after. One of the main reasons I never have any vehicle with an uncovered stack. All of my farm tractors stacks have rain caps (flappers, or whatever you call 'em) on them unless they are curved, and then they get the coffee can.
just wondering why you didn't/don't drill a little 3/16" hole in the lowest point of the exhaust under the truck to let it drain. That's what I did with mine and haven't had anything like that happen. Well unless you like squirtin some water after rain haha
drill small drain hole right at bottom where it 90's up to bed and i have same truck 93 w250 wat stack system is tht im in market for the dual 5" for her thnx for ur time
how to you get the smoke to come out of the stacks equally, with most of the stack kits you can find the passenger side gets the smoke first, because there is less pipe
@1958johndeere620 haha, Im watching this vid again and I have to agree! Flapper suck unless their on heavy machines and even id rather have a turn out stack. Im getting custom made stack covers for the 6" mitres im putting on soon. Socks for your truck, LOL.
@salsa1034 Nope, they were " W " for the 4x4 and " D " for the 2 wheel drive. Also a " RAM " is 2 wheel drive and a " POWER RAM " is 4 wheel drive.
thats one beautiful sounding and looking truck my friend

lol revin the piss out of a cold diesel
who says it was cold.
77_k20_4x4 I wish I was as smart as everyone who assumes every diesel is cold is
Rain and stacks make for a fun time, man.
Thats why they make rain caps for truck stacks
Or you can just put a bucket smarty pants :)
I prefer to roll the truck upside down.
i know that feeling all too well its pouring rain riight now ill bet my stack is fillin up

Surely just driving it would make enough heat to get it right?
great, I'll check them out. Thanks for the help.

nice truck
I built the stack system and dumped the pipe exactly in the middle of the cross bed pipe. I don't like delayed smoke so I did my own design.
@macman216 its a w250 the w stands for 4wheel drive also called a power ram!!!
No, just backed out the high idle screw.

I love the black smoke of a Diesel.
put coffee cans over them when you can tell its about to rain. helps out alot. even if they are angled
The truck has 130,000 miles. I have only put 3,000 of those on. I did ride in the truck 8 or so years ago. I used to work with the original owner.
@1958johndeere620 Absolutly right "W" and "D" weren't dropped until the 1994 model year

Did you put a 3200rpm governor spring in the pump?

@the18gearJammer Rain and soot.
Just a quick question johndeere, what turbo upgrade did you use and what injectors? I'm new to diesels; looking to buy a 92-93 W250 myself.
Thanks
small hole in the pipes in the bottom will fix this
SSG Pentland Wouldn't it make it sound bad? maybe a noisy whistle ?
Make a small hole weld a bung to it and get a drain plug. That way there's no leak and you have a drain
thats y you put a drain on the bottom of the exaust or cover them when it rains !!!!
how to you get the smoke to come out of the stacks equally, with most of the stack kits you can find the passenger side gets the smoke first, because there is less pipe
Run a single pipe all the way and up to the bed, then find the center and run a split on it and make sure the stacks are spaced equally
Awesome!
Bull hauler Stacks keep the rain out better.
I have the same stacks, i never get water in them
oh okay. you have any idea what its tacking at with that screw backed out?
it pulls pretty hard to about 3050 or so and will no load to 3500.
UNLESS its COLD reving like that has no effect on the engine. diesels are designed to be work horses.
just use two big coffey cans
atleast hes right and not saying "you should get flappers, there for cool kids". lol
@hockeyguitar77 i like stacks on some trucks but not every truck.
Not much. Big injectors and a turbo upgrade.
@1958johndeere620 haha, Im watching this vid again and I have to agree! Flapper suck unless their on heavy machines and even id rather have a turn out stack.
Im getting custom made stack covers for the 6" mitres im putting on soon. Socks for your truck, LOL.
why dont you just cover them before it rains
That's why u get rid of the water while driving so that shit rains on other people's cars
hahaha you know ur a hillbilly when !!!! sounds awsome tho !!!!! how many miles you have on it ????
so THATS what happens when it rains and you have stacks haha
@1958johndeere620 Haha nice
Its just a beater. Nothing to be pissed about. I thought it was funny. Its just part of having stacks.
its a cummins it will take it.
Flappers suck.
Asu mecha
put a bucket over them
I would never buy that after watching this video..
Thats fine, its not for sale. I made this vid 9 years ago and it still runs like a top.
Good for you. Stick with a Prius. They're more for you than a diesel.
at least the truck aint white
