they released the oxp for £633 is what I paid on IGG at the time and I did a referal and got a bundle of goodies but now the OXP starts at over £250 higher and I can't justify this when I have the OXP i7-1165g7 and Steam Deck. I see this response a lot on handhelds all the time. I felt the same way and held out as long as I could. I eventually settled on a steam deck because of its support. I can tell you the steam deck has wonderful support from the factory and community. It's worth looking into.
@@ronin_117 I did look into the steam deck vs 6800u and until you push the watts of the 6800u the steam deck out performs the 6800u in most games tested. @@_GarethRossUK that’s not accurate at all. Look at all the benchmarks and tests done by reviewers, the 6800u starts to surpass the Steam Deck at anywhere from 13-15 watts depending on the game. Also most of these devices have a significantly larger battery than the Deck. At equal wattage the Ayaneo 2 gets about 30 minutes more battery life than the Deck. Yes they obviously suck at power at high wattage, but you don’t have to go to super high wattage to get better performance than the Deck. I suppose if someone really wants to push it hard to 35 watts or so they could just have it plugged in to an outlet or a battery bank. I know I probably won’t ever push my Ayaneo 2 above about 25-28 watts.

@@matthewritenour3529 from what I could read if you are willing to fix the device by yourself they are pretty fast in sending the parts. The problems begin if you want to send the device to them . Here where I live it's full of small Chinese shops that would install the new part for like 20€. This is the reason why I decided to buy it
I like how it is with controller parts detached, it's like those slim NUCs that Intel also marketed to the "gamer" crowd but with AMD and better specs.
The printed words, "Hardcore Gamer," the black screen border bezel, the orange color, and price have resulted in a solid pass. I have yet to purchase a handheld PC and was hoping to see a Steam Deck Pro or Steam Deck 2 announcement. IDC, if the next Steam Deck is $1,200, get rid of the bezel!
At this point it's cheaper putting windows on the steamdeck then getting one of these devices. I really wish these devices had better battery life. Honestly I'd use my Steamdeck more. Maybe in a couple of years?
This year or next year there should be a Ryzen processor that is a direct upgrade over the SD processor in every way (emphasis on battery life). The problem is it might be an exclusive processor that only Valve can get.
These handheld Gaming PCs are more powerful than the SteamDeck. You will find they release these handheld every year with increasingly more powerful and newer specs, because they are PC vendors - this is what PC gaming is about. The prices are kept around the same as well. Valve is not going to release a Steam Deck 2, 3, 4,5 etc.. every year, however these PC vendors can because it's the business model. So when you think about it, that Price to performance ratio will continue to shrink for the Steam Deck compared to handheld gaming PCs. Already there is discussion that the SteamDeck is sort of underpowered - It is far more powerful and capable than the Nintendo Switch at such a small price difference, but out outside of the console world quite a fair bit of tweaking and some comprises are needed to run many of the newest AAA games at 45-60fps SteamDeck will have legs for many years because there are tens of thousands of older AAA games and emulation that will run fantastic on the device, but handheld PCs looks to be growing very, very fast with more powerful and capable handheld gaming PCs coming out every year that may eventually reach a level of parity with laptop gaming pcs to run the latest AAA games that the Steam Deck will increasingly lag behind to a point it simply cannot run them reasonably because it doesn't have the chops to do it. Consoles can get away with it, because games are developed for those specs "lowest common denominator", but in the PC gaming world one has to eventually upgrade if they want to run the latest and greatest at reasonable performances.
as for the battery life, this device has a bigger 65 watt battery so it's going to run classic AAA, indie games etc for far longer. What you want is a bigger battery to use ratio. I would be interested to see how long it can run the most demanding AAA games compared to other 6800U devices with the same level of settings, screen brightness, power profile etc...with respect to the screen size and resolution as well that is being powered This would help show how much of a benefit batery size could be. I do agree, we can always use more battery life, but I also think we are hitting the limits of litium Ion batteries and are overdue for newer and better battery technology anyway. Only so much tweaking, chip efficiency, software optimization and compromises that can be done until all handheld technology (and electric cars, houses) are simply held back because of our current battery limitations. d
@@TakiUdon Or we get new battery types thats not from the 90s(yes thats when the last big improvement to li-ion batteries was made :/). All other tech is improving so fast, but batteries stagnate.
I have the Onexplayer 5800u and I just use an external battery pack on the floor with a long usbc cable plugged in. For playing on the sofa it doesn't bother me at all while playing. The 2560 x 1600 screen along with 8 cpu cores is what eats up the battery, but I still love how good the screen looks.
The position of the right analogue stick looks so awkward to use. For that reason I choose the steam deck as comfortablility and ease of use is the whole point of these devices.
I love the idea of detachable controllers for handheld PCs, then you have a handheld console, tablet, laptop, and desktop PC all in one. If only they could slim down the thickness to half, maybe for the OXP2 mini, then it will be tempting, it's a bit thick as a tablet right now, it's like a brick next to iPad.
Hey, not complaining just asking a question for clarification... because I don't know if you might have left something out.... but you said they expect to have editorial control over your video but you didn't say that they told you, you MUST say that the controller problems will be fixed in the video, you just said they told you that. Seems like it was information they was just alerting you about vs requiring you to tell people it in the video, unless that small part is just a detail you decided to leave out and they did say you must say it in the video, then yes, i disagree with them and its weird and shady on their end.
That part was me explaining how this usually goes. It didn't go that way this time because they didn't tell me what was being fixed and just making a general statement like that isn't enough for me to embargo my thoughts. It was strange so I explained how this process typically goes with other companies. A better example to illustrate what this is usually like in practice would be if I got sent a prototype that had damaged paint. I might be asked to not emphasize the damage because it's not reflective of a retail product, or I can show it, but I have to say that this is prototype-specific.
what's the use of detachable controller if they are not supported wirelessly? its ridiculous they didn't put battery inside. the final version must have that.
lol i love this guy. he disregarded all their "DO NOT DO's & SAY" i love it. deff best review for this handheld out I wonder y they havent put this 1 up on their indigogo & oxp site lol
it's an interesting device, I don't like the borders on the screen (damn u Aya Neo 2) but its better than the steam deck. I think the screen is too big for a handheld, we don't have the performance to raise the resolution using the 6800u right now on PC games (most games are all low 800p)
This thing is clearly the worst of the 6800u devices. Yeah it has a big screen, but that’s its only selling point. The Ayaneo 2, GPD Win4, and WinMax2 are all better than this overall. Just my opinion of course but this things seems like a mess.
Yeah got winmax2 but im buying win4 also. Wanted ayaneo2 but win4 looks like a lot better device with landscape screen, mouse and mouse switch, keyboard.
The GPD Win4 is my 2nd choice, and the Steam Deck 3rd. The small screen and overall small form factor on the Win4 is a deal breaker for me. To me the one that got it right is the Ayaneo 2, that’s why I ordered it, got it in a couple days ago and it’s everything I hoped for. Perfect size, comfortable, high quality, great screen, great performance, etc. I’ll still keep my Steam Deck but not too sure what I’m going to use it for honestly.
@@bryan8638 it's 100% a 7" screen. A couple reviewers made the mistake of saying it's an 8" screen. It looks bigger because of no bezels, especially when you put it next to the Steam Deck.
Honestly I cant see myself buying any of these devices until we get better battery life and after purchase support. They look awesome and have a lot of co features but 1.5 hours of gaming for a $1000 handheld when you know they will be making a new handheld ina few months at most is just not worth it to me. I hope the market settles and companies stop churning out handhelds and instead focus on quality. Literally no reason to buy these when the steam deck exists
The ironic thing is I actually have the money for such devices, it's just my damn bank has policies that prevent high ammounts of money to be given/paid for something in one time (something that is supposed to fight bank fraud, I guess?) and no store I know that ship devices like that to my destination accepts payments in installments...
When paying the high prices that these kind of handhelds demand I would expect a large screen as he default. I liked toe orange accents over the black, minus the gaudy text that is also cringeworthy. I don't agree that a controller should have heft to feel worth it. Heft is weight, which is not as conducive to long periods of play because of weight. When these things become a standard at less than $500 then I think that there will be a greater take-up but at these prices, they will still be very niche. In a market that is becoming very crowded and soon to be saturated, prices will have to fall in order to compete longer term.
There’s really no point in getting anything but a steamdeck until they make a “sizable“ leap in portable tech. Maybe AMD RDNA3 graphics chip or something. There are several things you can do to the steamdeck to Improve performance, including specific software mods from the community that have a big impact. every AAA game Ice seen on the new 6800 + 680 gfx (or whatever) only push around 5+ FPS over what you can do with a steamdeck at less than half the price. You have to remember, valve works on individual titles to make sure that they get translated through proton as best it can (if needed), not to mention they support the product where these overseas companies are just churning out handhelds as fast as they can. I don’t see the logic in spending around 1000 or so dollars on something that is only marginally more performant then the steam deck.
They coould move the I/O if they went with an L-shaped battery, like in the iPhnes. I'm not sre the cost difference, but I'd much rather have the I/O in a better place.
Anybody just feel like the market is oversaturated with these kind of products at this point? The advantage the Steam Deck has is.. well, it's the Steam Deck, from Steam. It may not be the most powerful, but it's the most supported, both from the company and the userbase. Everything else is just another product that may or may not do what you want that may or may not sell out immediately that may or may not have chip shortages in the future.
Great video, I received my Steam Deck last week after playing RDR 2 for 30 hours I do not think I need this generation handheld. Also my Aya Neo 4500u can still play a decent amount of games with 22w TDP. I played around 80 hours of Elden Ring on Aya Neo.
There's a OneXplayer 2?? I haven't even got the first one due to its outrageous price and they've released another? Here's hoping the first one comes down to at least $500.

well i just got a GPD win max 4 16GB + 512GB for 750€, where the the 512gb steam deack would be 680€, so definetly worth the price increase imo. Also dunno where "a third of price" comes from, unless you are talking of the 64gb version (which is completely useless)
@@Geffry993 GPD is very tempting just sounds like their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The only thing holding me back from buying it
@@Geffry993 where did you buy from?

@@matthewritenour3529 from what I could read if you are willing to fix the device by yourself they are pretty fast in sending the parts. The problems begin if you want to send the device to them . Here where I live it's full of small Chinese shops that would install the new part for like 20€. This is the reason why I decided to buy it
I like how it is with controller parts detached, it's like those slim NUCs that Intel also marketed to the "gamer" crowd but with AMD and better specs.
I like what this system offers but the lack of transparency that the company has with a big reviewer like yourself kind of worries me
The printed words, "Hardcore Gamer," the black screen border bezel, the orange color, and price have resulted in a solid pass. I have yet to purchase a handheld PC and was hoping to see a Steam Deck Pro or Steam Deck 2 announcement. IDC, if the next Steam Deck is $1,200, get rid of the bezel!
The steam deck just came brooooo it’s the console peasant of pc gaming broooo wtf are you talking about
Brooooooooo
And now you have my exact DIRECT ATTENTION!!!!!!
Already there is discussion that the SteamDeck is sort of underpowered - It is far more powerful and capable than the Nintendo Switch at such a small price difference, but out outside of the console world quite a fair bit of tweaking and some comprises are needed to run many of the newest AAA games at 45-60fps
SteamDeck will have legs for many years because there are tens of thousands of older AAA games and emulation that will run fantastic on the device, but handheld PCs looks to be growing very, very fast with more powerful and capable handheld gaming PCs coming out every year that may eventually reach a level of parity with laptop gaming pcs to run the latest AAA games that the Steam Deck will increasingly lag behind to a point it simply cannot run them reasonably because it doesn't have the chops to do it.
I would be interested to see how long it can run the most demanding AAA games compared to other 6800U devices with the same level of settings, screen brightness, power profile etc...with respect to the screen size and resolution as well that is being powered
This would help show how much of a benefit batery size could be.
I do agree, we can always use more battery life, but I also think we are hitting the limits of litium Ion batteries and are overdue for newer and better battery technology anyway.
Only so much tweaking, chip efficiency, software optimization and compromises that can be done until all handheld technology (and electric cars, houses) are simply held back because of our current battery limitations.
d
GPD win max 2 considered a handheld?
When we will get new batteries for these devices ? 80 min is just crazy low :/ Why is battery tech so far behind ?
The real thing we want is the 28W performance that gets you that 80 minutes of battery life with 10W TDP or lower. Then things will be amazing.
Hey, do you have the improved version of OXP 2, you know those fixes they made? Is it still worth it to get the OXP 2 in 2024?😊
How did rogue squadron II play please on gamecube emulation ? I have the 1s version of first edition and it plays terrible.
I'm sure this is a dumb question and I think I even know already but what's the DBZ game you were playing in the beginning of this video?
I’ve check the website I can’t find the onexplayer 2 controller connectors anywhere 😢..anyone got a website ?
The position of the right analogue stick looks so awkward to use. For that reason I choose the steam deck as comfortablility and ease of use is the whole point of these devices.
I love the idea of detachable controllers for handheld PCs, then you have a handheld console, tablet, laptop, and desktop PC all in one. If only they could slim down the thickness to half, maybe for the OXP2 mini, then it will be tempting, it's a bit thick as a tablet right now, it's like a brick next to iPad.
They’re working on it… calm down
@@xMRxLAMAxDon't kid yourself, they won't change anything about it. What you see is what you get.
I would be getting the gpd win 4, indegogo says shipping March, but I don't know if I can wait, especially since I could get aokzoe right now.
Well, the Win 4 is one of the best handhelds in this generation and the price is reasonable. Can't speak to aokzoe.
How do the sticks feel for me it's pretty hard to play any shorter/competitive games with switch style sticks
Our desire: 'I want this!'
Our wallets: 'Are you certain, bruh?' 😩😂
What were the games featured in this video
Should i upgrade to this if i have the OneXplayer 1S
I'm pretty sure they've definitely made way more than two of them.
How did you get the 40FPS in the settings! Mine only shows 60
Any more vids on the pimax portal?
what's the use of detachable controller if they are not supported wirelessly? its ridiculous they didn't put battery inside. the final version must have that.
At least if it breaks, you can easily buy a new set?
Worth upgrading from OXP 1??
Do a review for Onexplayer mini with Intel 8505, please!
lol i love this guy. he disregarded all their "DO NOT DO's & SAY" i love it. deff best review for this handheld out I wonder y they havent put this 1 up on their indigogo & oxp site lol
Could someone explain to me what this 15w or 28w means? Is it the speed it takes for the console to uncharge?
it's an interesting device, I don't like the borders on the screen (damn u Aya Neo 2) but its better than the steam deck. I think the screen is too big for a handheld, we don't have the performance to raise the resolution using the 6800u right now on PC games (most games are all low 800p)
Yeah but this 8.4. Who cares about the borders if the screen is bigger. LoL
Please help i change my refresh rate accidentally and it turn black i don't know what to do😭
Which DBZ game is that btw?
Kakarot. If you like DBZ, you should get the game. It's very good.
Why not compare it to the aokzoe ??
Don't have one
Will you make a video of the gpd win 4 teardown for the ssd change thingy?
Yes
Which Dragon Ball game is that? It looks nice. On side note, the prices of handhelds are getting out of control!
Do you think the ssd can be upgraded higher than 2tb?
Love the honesty 🤣
This thing is clearly the worst of the 6800u devices. Yeah it has a big screen, but that’s its only selling point. The Ayaneo 2, GPD Win4, and WinMax2 are all better than this overall. Just my opinion of course but this things seems like a mess.
Will It Play PS2 Or Nintendo Gamecube
How Much Is It
Where Can I Buy It From
Will It Play On The TV If Yes How?
After everything I saw last year it seems like the GPD win 4 is the one that got it right
Yeah got winmax2 but im buying win4 also. Wanted ayaneo2 but win4 looks like a lot better device with landscape screen, mouse and mouse switch, keyboard.
@@hydzior how is win max 2? I have the deck but really tempted to get win max 2 as well
The GPD Win4 is my 2nd choice, and the Steam Deck 3rd.
@@bnr32jason what's the screen size on the aya neo 2? I keep seeing articles say 7 and also 8.2, really would love a real measurement.
@@bryan8638 it's 100% a 7" screen. A couple reviewers made the mistake of saying it's an 8" screen. It looks bigger because of no bezels, especially when you put it next to the Steam Deck.
I ordered the white one from IGG campaign.
How was fan noise at 15W-28W compared to the other 6800U handhelds ?
Only the Win 4 seems to make less noise. This one is more or less on par with AYANEO2.
These company releaseing like 2 device each months? How about support and etc
There are other companies that release more devices in a year, but this is one of the bigger ones.
4:09 - It's almost like OneNetbook is acting super shady across the board. See the AOKZOE debacle on my channel
What about the speakers ?
The speakers seem good. Didn't do any comparisons for this first look.
Taki really do the best reviews! "tooth" 🤣
The font is the funny thing
Hmmm what's the point of detachable controls if they don't work in a Switch-like fashion. What a waste.
Still wondering that
Honestly I cant see myself buying any of these devices until we get better battery life and after purchase support.
You got it straight
That price tag, though! Yikes! 😮
The ironic thing is I actually have the money for such devices, it's just my damn bank has policies that prevent high ammounts of money to be given/paid for something in one time (something that is supposed to fight bank fraud, I guess?) and no store I know that ship devices like that to my destination accepts payments in installments...
I think the GPD Win 4 is my answer.
Does anyone know how to use the Logitech gcloud controller on dolphin emulator
Yes, my Dolphin emulator guide goes over this.
@@TakiUdonthanks it worked
When paying the high prices that these kind of handhelds demand I would expect a large screen as he default. I liked toe orange accents over the black, minus the gaudy text that is also cringeworthy. I don't agree that a controller should have heft to feel worth it. Heft is weight, which is not as conducive to long periods of play because of weight. When these things become a standard at less than $500 then I think that there will be a greater take-up but at these prices, they will still be very niche. In a market that is becoming very crowded and soon to be saturated, prices will have to fall in order to compete longer term.
for that price why would i just not buy a steam deck? its seems to be way to expensive for what you get or am i wrong in this assumption
How does the screen compare to the ayaneo2
Thank you
😯😯👍👍
They sometimes have discounts on refurbished units .
What emulator you used to play spider man and can it play on android
No emulator. It is a pc game.
12W 3 hours gameplay, u will love it
