Not really, I keep using the Capcom groove and I usually end up against Geese more than M. Bison. I believe it depends on whos the Ratio 3 boss you fight or maybe the roster you have and which one has finished off more opponents? (ex: Capcom char beating more opponents = Geese boss and vice versa) I didn't really pay that much attention to who was going to be my end boss.
While overall the sequel is the better game, this game has the best presentation among them. The stages, the intro, the character select, it's well done.
Well SNK has at least started developing in 3D with KOF XIV (not counting maximum impact) so their development costs would hopefully be less if they did get back together.
The presentation in Capcom vs SNK is fantastic! It DOES hit different than the sequel, which I wish had the same level of presentation. I remember when brought this game to my close friends' attention in 2000. They had only been familiar with the Capcom characters, whereas I was familiar with both Capcom, and SNK's Fatal Fury. I remember asking, "Who the hell are Kyo, Iori, Yamazaki, etc.?" A true classic!
The presentation in CVS 1 is the best, because Capcom knew when they made this game that this might be the only change they will ever have to do this cross over. CVS 2 doesn't do it for me because they only added in a few characters. They could have just added in those characters into CVS1 and it would have been better.
Anytime someone mentions Dante’s Peak I think of how that old lady boils to death, Pierce Brosnan definitely woulda saved her if she was Denise Richards.
SNK was screw over in this deals cause their own problems. The deal was that each company could use their characthers for their own purpouses and games. Thing was that SNK was not that hot money wise at the time to push for a full fledge figthing game, and they were still tryin to push their Neo Geo pocket thingy, while Capcom did a proper fighthing game. Also nice movie reference lol
You are correct, the 2D backgrounds in CVS1 are the best. Because they blend in better with the 2D sprites. In contrast the 3D backgrounds in CVS2, they clash with the 2D sprites plus the 3D generates too much motion which is distracting.
I was so lucky to get this game in my childhood on PS1. I already knew SF, but this is was my actual introduction to SNK characters. To this day love this more than CvS2
I wouldn't say that SNK got screwed over on the deal... that was only their fault. I mean, they made 4 games that used Capcom properties. SvC Chaos (AES/MVS), Card Fighters 1+2 (NGPC), Card Fighters DS (NDS) aside from Card Fighters DS these games were released on a consoles that were not very mainstream. Sure their arcade game had potential to make some money, but the others were very niche. The NDS was very popular, but SNK botched that game, not only was it no where near as fun as the first two games in the series, but they also had a game breaking glitch that cost them more money to rectify. But, the only one to blam on that deal was put on SNK. Then again, maybe they were banking on the Capcom name to sell consoles for the NGPC.
I still love this one more than 2, but that may be due in part to playing this first. It's also the first time I played anything relating to SNK outside of Metal Slug. There's also the Dreamcast sentimentality to it, along with Third Strike, Mortal Kombat Gold and Soul Calibur. Also, thanks for mentioning Dan Legacy. I was about to say it's awesome your playing this just right after Max did his video. XD
Its a mixed bag of joy and disappointment. Crossover fan service, but extremely unbalanced and buggy. As proof, I mentioned this before in the CvS2 vid. Use Blanka against Geese boss. Keep doing Heavy rolling attack and after he responds with a jumping reppuken. Do a jump attack. Rinse and repeat. Also for Matt, since you like Terry so much. In CvS 1, Keep rolling and use Rising Tackle (LP). Same with Ken, but with Shoryuken (LP)
Dont worry Matt i also dont like Evil Cammy as much as regular Cammy. And the voice they gave her in CvS2 is unbearable to listen to for me There is a SNK boss and its the goose man himself. You fight him twice because he has no lacky to act his sub boss in this game. Wonder where Billy went
@@alvinbautista1450 Ah yes... that one. Well, as you said, it was fan-made therefore not official. I like that one as well, great job to whoever made it, but still it doesn't really count into her official sprites. Capcom should have made that sprite for her release in MvC 1 but, they were really lazy.
The boss you get is based on the groove you pick and the points you earn. The groove point system looks pointless at face value but it determines who you fight or don’t fight in arcade mode. You fight Akuma instead of M. bison if you have 80 groove points going into that last boss fight.
If I recall correctly, the final boss depends on which groove you select; you can either get Bison with Balrog, or you can get Geese.
Ahh makes sense.
I thought it was depending on the characters you win with being Capcom or SNK affecting what boss you fought.
We have Ryu and Terry in Smash, that's the closest we're getting to a Capcom vs SNK 3
Also got Akuma and Geese Howard in Tekken 7
@@ABigBowlOfChips Oh yeah, you're right! I forgot about that
Ryu and Ken Vs. Terry with many SNK cameos in the back round of KOF stadium.
@Matt I’m here to defend your point about stages being better in CVS versus CVS2. CVS PRESENTATION>>>>>>>> CVS2 PRESENTATION
@pkleaf agreed, CVS2 is the superior game. Still glad I have my PS2 copy 👍🏾
You fight Geese if you choose the “SNK” groove from the outset.
Not really, I keep using the Capcom groove and I usually end up against Geese more than M. Bison. This
I mean the SNK vs CAPCOM 3 mugen is pretty legit. The one with every character not the crazy ones lol
Capcom screwed SNK over so badly in the deal
Well SNK has at least started developing in 3D with KOF XIV (not counting maximum impact) so their development costs would hopefully be less if they did get back together.
The only thing I remember from Dante's Peak is that crazy scene with the acid lake.
I had the PS1 version of this, it's crazy how much better this version looks.
This game does have a couple of the absolute best stages Capcom did. I love the train stage and the flaming truck wreck.
I was playing this with my bud on Dreamcast a couple days ago- the presentation and controls are so phenomenally good. We want CVS3!

My first Dreamcast game... I spent so much time just playing this by myself trying to find out combo's and shit, super nostalgic to me!

The SNK variant is Geese.
I do know what your talking about.
Love to see you play Cannon Spike and/or Pocket Fighter😃

As far as I know, CvS 2 is still available as a PS2 Classic on PS3, CVS 1 and the SvC Chaos haven't been ported recently
8:37
The bosses are Bison, Geese & Akuma. To fight Akuma you need to get 85 GPS before the final boss battle against Geese or Bison
a video on the legacy of kain cancelled games would be dope (dead sun in particular)

Thanks for picking Kim. It really made the video shine.
We got some good neww
It's not a proper playthrough until you hear PREDICTABO!
This game is Y2K as fuck and I am here for it.
I'd love to watch you play this some more, or even CvS2
Also- the only other experience I have with this game is the Super Couch Fighters Run It Back of this. The Dreamcast version is SO MUCH BETTER!

His NAME is 00-Brosnan, dammit.
The Bison sprite was pretty cool
GET READY TO FUCKING SPILL!!!!
Someone should do a remaster of this and CVS 2
DTF
Down to Fidgetspin
I have this on my Dreamcast.
Please, please play some more CVS2. Loved the CVS2 video.
CvS2 was the best Capcom really did a great job idk why SNK fucked up
@MattMcMuscles do you have Capcom Vs. SNK Pro for Dreamcast with Dan and Joe Higashi?
Its a mixed bag of joy and disappointment. Crossover fan service, but extremely unbalanced and buggy.

God I hope they make a capcom vs snk 3 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X

Care to do a flophouse files on the CVS series development?
Are you going to play the second one again to try to get to one of the secret bosses??
This game is also has Morrigan Aensland that never re-drawed her waifu sprite.
Her sprite was used since Darkstalkers. It was untill Tatsunoko vs Capcom where she finally lost her sprite to have a proper 3D model.
@@morganaensland1105 If you play MUGEN, there was a fan-made sprite just for her. And it was 1,000 times better than the old sprite has.

Capcom boss. Balrog then Bison
SNK boss. Gesse back to back
Is that dependent on the makeup of your team?
@@MattMcMuscles I could be mistaken. I think it was Point based
