Maximum Impact 2 was the first KOF game I've owned, picked it out of a bargain bin I think lol The weird way the announcer said Hyena's name on the character select screen (it basically sounded like "Hyenerp") made me think I had a buggy copy but now I see the announcer is just Like That.

If I remember correctly, I got the KOF: Maximum Impact 2/2006 the year it came out that fall (that or the spring the following year). I had been eyeballing it for awhile under the glass case at the then Play N Trade we had where I live and finally got it when I had the funds to spare. It's rough around the edges, notably due to Falcoon's involvement, but it's still a solid game and one of my favorite fighting games to this day. It would be nice to see a compilation release of the Maximum Impact series with online support and maybe a few of the better OCs from the game to pop up in KOF15, if nothing else than to watch Matt literally eat his words via mac and cheese.
I love the KoF Maximum Impact games! I love the way it plays, I love most of the stages, the attacks feel so satisfying to pull off and I love most of the new characters (I only hate Nagase). I wish they made more, especially after the cliffhangers for Alba's and Soiree's stories

Duke was actually kind of cool, and Dolores from XV was basically Luise with the melanin turned up to 11 and a butt lift. Soiree kind of grew on me too. The Beart sisters, on the other hand, can die in a fire.
I'm a rising tackle fan, but specifically a charge input rising tackle, I find it irreparably disgusting to have to do standard inputs on it, especially in 15, same goes for rock
Kuroko, the judge from Samurai Shodown, was avaliable to be played with though cheats on the NeoGeo MVS (is that one the home one? I always take one for another - the home console) version of SamSho2 already!
3D games take more work to re-release. Players expect the engine updated to clean up the graphics. With 2D games they can just release them emulated as is.
Go check one of Iori's original skin alternative colors. He's literally Woody Woodpecker, with all blue clothes, white belly and a big red puff of hair

(Even tho i think Maximum Impact aint that good compared to the rest of the KOF franchise for other reasons, like the OCs being mostly bad and the artstyle a bit meh. But i cant blame them, that was probably their first step in fumm 2D KOF)
Rising Tackle is incredibly effective, but smashing someone down with the Power Dunk is always so satisfying.
