I don't believe for a second that Witcher's don't feel. That is a father's love for his child, that was a father believing his daughter dead and breaking down because he couldn't protect her. (Yes I'm aware he's not really her Dad) I think it's just a myth that witchers don't feel, one made up to cover for the moral ambiguity they often find themselves entrenched in.
Yes it’s a myth that Witcher’s use to their advantage as a means of intimidation. However Geralt faired better than every other Witcher to date as the side effects to his mutations were minimal. (Mostly just cosmetic, such as his white hair.) Others go insane... or worse.
@@iungimus or you are insensitive this scene express so much with no words, the people more sensitive with things usually are the most empathic, think about how geralt is feeling in that moment, all those years of not knowing nothing about her and then a little ray of hope to find her and determination to find her and protect her because she is like you daughter, well she is her daughter practically, and then you find you daughter body and all you he can do after all is nothing but feel pain and regret and sadness and hug her tightly and then she suddenly opens her eyes and hug you, what geralt must have feel was the greatest expression possible of relieve happiness and joy. I mean, Ciri can travel to different worlds. In a scene, she was telling Geralt that she’s been to a planet that had flying ships. It’d be awesome to see Ciri coming from or going into a portal in cyberpunk
Oh lord, this scene killed me. Most video games don’t make me cry (There are a few that I have) but this one is probably the most emotional in some parts. You can tell that Geralt was crying, and then I was crying with him. I don’t cry a lot, but it has to be a good reason. I honestly thought Ciri was dead but then after she woke up I felt really happy so, yeah. I had such a great experience with The Witcher 3. I love the funny jokes, and everything. Especially the “I hate portals” saying. It gets me everytime! The boat scene when Geralt was angry that the boat left was really realistic. This was an emotional rollercoaster, but I get a good laugh out of the jokes. The Witcher 3 is such an awesome game. The books are amazing too!
6:50 - So, Ciri spent six months in Night City? I wonder if she had any augmentations done whilst she was there? I can't see her having been able to survive in the world of Cyberpunk without at least being able to connect to The Net wirelessly!
She has magical abilities, survival shouldn't be a problem in my opinion. Just teleport anywhere and shoot and stab people as you please. But she probably didn't want to get any enhancements that would show because she always wanted to go back to the continent. Also this was more like an Easter egg and the writers should not do anything that would affect the character or story in a huge way (like having some enhancement). Plus she wouldn't even be able to power it in this universe
At first I was thinking that ciri is trying to described our modern world the metal in people head could of been cell phones, waging war by using drones and using guns and other firearms and how people using cars and airplanes.
i accidentally hit the spacebar , right after the dwarf said Ciri is dead , and it jump right to the part where she sat there and brush her blade , and i was like wtf isnt she ded oh well

First time I played through this scene, I bawled my eyes out so bad I had to stop playing, I couldn't see the game well, and I was distraught... second time a game has ever done that for me (first being Lee's death in The Walking Dead, Season 1)
@@KBzaz I mean that's about as dramatic as my crying is. Unable to stand, breathe, and it's overwhelming. Even with his mutations, Geralt obviously isn't emotion-less, and he thought his daughter had died alone, scared in a hellish swamp. Can't say I blame him for breaking down a bit
I remember that moment. Thought she was dead and i had no hope so i decided to give the last hug from everyone she had known, but then after i had hug him for a couple of seconds she started to warm up and i saw the dream...
There's this dialogue between Philippa and Margarita at the boat in Skellige, Margarita says ''Actually, you and I are the only women here who didn't sleep with Geralt'' and Philippa shots back with ''In your case it's just a matter of time''
Audience familiarity, abd aiding the suspension of disbelief by not changing anything too distracting. A missing scar on a models face would be distracting for many, if not all.
By this point in the game I had turned off the music (repetetiv in combat and also breaking my immersion). Maybe its cus I experienced it this way but without music this scene is way sadder
Read through most of the first book and so far the series starts off with Geralt and Yen having had there relationship but it was one of those on and off type of things, also by that time Triss had already had her affair with him and he wasn't in any relationship with either of them by the time of the first book. I don't know if maybe one of the other books goes into more detail.
Triss never has a serious relationship with Geralt, just screwing around here and there (although they do have feelings for each other as close friends). But the books clearly position Geralt and Yen as soulmates.
It's Yennefer. Though Geralt knew a lot of mages, had even affair with one who died at Sodden. His relationship with Yen started way before all this. Overall, he was a witcher doing witcher business, he saved Ciri's father from execution at Cintra, a few years from that, he saved Yennefer and their toxic relationship started. But it was never constant, the longest they were together was when Geralt actually lived with Yennefer at her own house in Vengerberg. But after 6 months, Geralt just couldn't handle being with Yennefer, he left a note and basically ran from her. And that's the dynamic between them, they really love eachother, but can't really make it work because their differences create a chasm in between. That's why both of them value Ciri this much, it was that spell Djin casted tied their fates, but it was Ciri, and their mutual parenting that bounded the two together. Triss isn't this powerful, strong sort of an enchantress in the books. She's way younger than Yennefer, and because of her youth, has an adventurous sex life, and her fascination with Geralt was that she envied Yennefer having someone so unique and passionate as lover. She bewitched him once and they slept together but Geralt never really saw her other than a friend, whom occasionally with benefits Geralt is defintetly not a monogomous person, but after the responsibility of having Ciri in his life, and what comes after, he really isn't that much of a casanova like in the games.
She never truly died, more like stuck in stasis. I can't remember off the top of my head what exactly happened. I think it was done to protect her. So the wild hunt would not find her.
My best explaination is when they were on Skellige, the moment Avalacc'h casted a spel on Ciri and she sort of fainted, he actually pulled out her soul (the firefly). It can tracks its body so later on if he wants to go back to retieve her, he can find her easily. After that Avalcc'h brought her to the Isle of Mists, left her there and leave before the curse turned him into Uma. And then there's the rest, the whole Isle of Mists quest.
It was Avallac'h. He used it as a defence mechanism because without a guide, Ciri was too vulnerable and rash. So he casted a spell that turned her into that slumbering status and put her in the isle of mists. It wasn't the isle that kept her hidden, it's the spell. When Geralt found her, her spirit returned
Geralt: "The world where Eredin couldn't find you, what was it like?"
Ciri: "People there do T-poses, cars randomly get launched in the air, and sometimes you get glitched off the map."
Geralt: "Ciri, stop fooling around."
😂😂...damn, so the game truly took a toll on gamers ehh??
