Hi, my 9 month daughter keeps her left big toe flexed about 85% of the day. It can be pushed down, but it immediately flexes back up after I let go. I'm not sure what to think. I've never seen anything like it.
Hi Kristin, based on your description, it could be an issue with her flexor tendons of her big toe. If it persists, we would strongly recommend that you bring your child to a podiatrist for assessment and treatment as soon as you can..

Hi good Day I want your opinion . I just want to know the exercises for perfect straight foot for 5 year old child .I realized my son foot growing like a backward bend ...

Hey.. Hi. My baby's left leg's middle toe is a little thin than the other toe. Why is it like that? And if it is a problem then what's the solution? She's 6 months old. Thank you.

Hi my baby girl is 9 months and her second toe goes on top of her chubby and third toe it’s like over lapping on both feet what can I do to try and fix it ?
Hi Citlaly, we recommend that you speak to a podiatrist as the best time to address such foot abnormalities is before the child's bones have hardened. If treatment is required, it could be as simple as performing stretching exercises or using a splint to move the toes to the appropriate position.
Hi Adhila, out-toeing is quite normal and often improves with age. However, if you see no improvement or an increase in the angle of the foot, you should consult a podiatrist to minimise the risk of future complications.

Hi mam My baby is 3month old when I hold in staight position he he could hold his right foot but unable to hold left feet is there any problem his foot also look smaller than right foot
Dear Monik, we are not too sure by what you mean by your baby's foot being aside, but at 3 months of age, your infant's foot may correct itself over time. If there is an area of concern or symptoms such as swelling, redness or an inflexible joint, you can speak to a podiatrist to see if there is a real issue of concern. Take care!
Hi amazing Grace, sorry for the delay in replying. By now, your child should be in the 8th or 9th month of growth. While being unable to stand with support at the fifth month may be considered slightly behind the usual developmental milestones, it is not particularly serious. If your child is still unable to stand with support at their current age, you should speak to a podiatrist or a paediatrician about appropriate developmental milestones for your child.
Hey good day. My son is 11 months and his left foot is turned a bit inwards and he doesn’t like to stand on it much. Could you advised me please He holds and stands but is not showing much readiness to walking
Hey Johan, overlapping toes do affect a small number of newborns but some do improve on their own. We have had some patients bringing in newborns to our clinics for an assessment for such issues. With that in mind, we would recommend that you make an appointment with a podiatrist before your child is 6 months old to see if there's any early intervention that would be suitable for your child.
Hi, my 18 month old not walking yet and when we try to get her to walk by holding her hands she’s always on her tippy toes she can only stand for about 2 seconds
Hi Shamshi, is is possible that out-toeing could affect the balance of your child and delay walking as a result. If you are concerned, please visit a podiatrist for a more detailed assessment.
Hi mam! When my 11 month old baby stands, she sometimes put all the weight on the big toe side of her right leg and only that part touches the ground. other part is raised and the leg is turned a bit too. Other whole leg touches the ground. Should I be worried??? Thanks!
Hi Anjalee, based on your description, it sounds like your child may be tiptoe walking. This can be caused by issues such as a shortened Achilles tendon or weakness in certain muscles. Please speak to a podiatrist in your area to have your child assessed as soon as possible.

Hi,my 2 years old was born with clubfoot and we corrected it through ponseti method,as she started to walk at age two her left leg that was okey is bending inward and she has flat feet, and yet the corrected right feet it okey,as she walk you could see as if she’s dragging or the left has no strength, what could be the problem? Thank you
Hi Zuhrayn, based on your description, it is possible that your girl is suffering from a case of foot drop. This is usually related to an issue that has affected the nerves and/or muscles of the leg. We would recommend that you bring her to a podiatrist in your area for professional assessment if the issue persists.
Hi PUBG BoSS, duck feet is also known as out-toeing and can be an area of concern for parents. However, it is very normal for children and often improves with age. We recommend that you observe your child and see if there is progress in this. If the issue continues for the next few months, you should bring them to a podiatrist nearest to you.
Hi, my daughter is 14months and is toe walking. And also walking on her knees. She doesn't stand without support. She walks while holding to the furnitures and walking on her knees. Should I go see a pediatrician or ? Please help I am frustrated. Thank you
Hi Helen, most children outgrow toe walking by the age of 2 so your child is still within the normal ranges. However, if she is unable to stand without support at 14 months as well as having trouble standing upright, you should have a podiatrist examine her for any underlying issues. If a podiatrist is unavailable, you may also see a pediatrician. Hope this helps!
@@EastCoastPodiatry Thank you so very much for your response. My daughter started walking two weeks back. She is no longer toe walking. Thank you so very much for your help, as I was a bit worried.
Hi Juali, it is very common for infants to have legs that curve inwards as their joints have not fully developed. The vast majority of such cases improve over time, however, we would advise that you monitor your child for such as they grow older. Meanwhile, we encourage you to look for a good podiatrist to bring your child to.
Hi Pooja, do you mean that her left foot is pointing outwards while the right foot is pointing forwards? This is known as out-toeing or duck-walking. Since it's one-sided, it's unlikely to be hip dysplasia but could be an indication of external tibial torsion. If the out-toeing is accompanied by signs such as excessive tripping or poor balance, we would recommend you speak to a local podiatrist to address your concerns.
Hi, my son is about 18 months now and his right foot stays flat, his toe stays curled in a lot of the time (looks like to compensate for lack of stability) when walking but his foot is pointed out. His toe doesn't seem to fire and lift as normal as the left and was wondering what types of exercises my wife and I can do with him to help fire the right toe to help walk more evenly. Can you please help? Thank you in advance and God bless. 🙏
Kashish, swelling of feet in infants can be due to many reasons including some that are non-medical such as insufficient water or remaining in one position for too long. Ensure that she has sufficient water and avoid leaving her in the same position for long periods of time. If her feet remain swollen, bring her to a podiatrist or paediatrician in your area as soon as possible.
Hello, my 8 month old is starting to take some assisted steps and I noticed that his right foot goes very far outward. Is this a reason to worry as his feet are still developing?
Hi mam, my 6 month baby is not placing his two foot similarly on floor mam. He stands by left foot well. But he is not placing his right foot in flat mam. What should I do mam. Please help me mam.
Hi Rene, out-toeing is a very common issue in children and you should not be excessively worried. It usually resolves itself over time but you can speak to a local podiatrist to ensure that your child is fine.
Hi my baby is complete 8months in a week but I noticed lumps in her both feets and some time her feet seems like purple in colour and wet please can you say what it is and how can I overcome please help me
Hii mam my 6 months old daughter has problem like her left leg is not touching surface properly. She put only toe if we support than she doesn't dr. Called it TA tightness is it normal n solve easily by streching only.. please rply i want it
Hi madam! my child is 15 months old. She has recently started walking and we noticed that she has out toing in both of her leg. and the left feet is more curved. the calcaneus is little outward. so she press the force on the thumb mainly when she stands. what can we do? Is it serious? is it recoverable?
Hi Munmum, if we are understanding you correctly, your daughter may have a flat arch that is causing her foot to splay outwards. That could also be responsible for the pressure on the big toe. This condition can be addressed but you should speak to a podiatrist for a diagnosis and see if treatment is necessary.
@@EastCoastPodiatry thank you. We had done the xray of her feet. And she is recognised with congenital vertical talus in both of her feet. Is that the surgery is only option to correct the deformity?what is the success rate of this kinda surgery? Can you tell it in details. Thanks again.
@@Munmun6547 Hi Munmun, surgery is the most common treatment for this situation. If it's not too severe, non-surgical treatments such as casting or stretching may be suitable. Speak to your child's doctor for more options as they would be more familiar with the case. As for the rates of success, if properly performed, the operation should be highly effective, but we won't be able to give you any firm numbers.
Hai my baby is 10 months old.. she wont stand without somebody but she is standing like out side toe.. we went to physiotherapist they told to do sone exercise. And they told will see just after a week will it be cure?
Hi daoud, pes planovalgus is a very common issue and you should not feel excessively worried. However, if your child trips excessively, has poor balance, or complains of pain while walking please bring him to a podiatrist in your area for a consultation.
hi my child is 2.5 years old but unable to walk because he lift his left leg while standing and also noticed that his left foot not having curve. If you can better advice to me. Please advice. Or send email while I can send full images and videos while he working.
Hi Sanjay, if your child is unable to walk at 2.5 years of age, we highly recommend you consult a podiatrist immediately. That will be the best advice we can give you. Your child may have some underlying feet or lower limb issue that is causing their inability to walk.
Hi my 2 year old does this thing with her feet where she rubs them together aggressively and I dont know why and it’s only at nights when we go to bed is when she starts it and then wants me to rub them as it soothes her but then goes back to crying and screaming I just don’t know what it could be
Hi Veereads, you may be worried that your child is experiencing some symptoms but if there are no other areas of note, it's unlikely to be anything serious. We would recommend that you observe your child to see if such behaviour is continued or if anything else changes. However, do look out for a good podiatrist near your home to bring your child in case the symptoms do not improve.
Hi, my daughter is 14 months old, she is walking well for the past 2 weeks but she seems to have over pronation especially on one foot, is this something we should see a doctor about or is this something that improves by itself as she gets older?
Hi..My baby is 10 month old and when he walks with support his legs goes like out toeing, duck style..he walks with walker with it..no pain there is no arch yet..will it be resolved or concernable?
Hi Shruti, out-toeing is incredibly common amongst young children below the age of two. However, many experts do not recommend the use of a walker as this can delay a child's development as well as increase the risk of injury. If he continues to display out-toeing behaviour past the age of two, or if the degree of out-toeing becomes more severe, you should consider consulting a podiatrist. I hope this is helpful!
Hi, my son is three months old and his feet are still upturned like a newborn and he just can’t make them flat even when I’m holding him in a standing position (he stands on tippy toes) is it normal?
Hi Grayc, tiptoe walking or balancing is not uncommon till the age of two. Your child may have been tiptoeing as they were still learning to develop muscular control. Since it's been some time, we would expect your child to be standing with support now. However, if the issue persists, please seek a paediatrician or podiatrist in your area to have your child looked at.
Hi, my baby is 18 months old, when she started a normal walk she touches right full foot on the floor but left foot only half touch. what do we need to do?
Hi Luqman, it is not uncommon for some children to walk on their toes up to two years of age. If it persists, you should consult a podiatrist for a gait analysis and assessment and it may be a sign of other underlying issues.
Hi Sania, there are many possible reasons for a child being unable to walk without difficulty. These can include knock knees, metatarsus adductus, and drop foot. There are many possibilities and I'm afraid we cannot give you accurate advice based on your description. If the condition has persisted, please bring her to a podiatrist or paediatrician.

Hi. My baby is 11 months old and crawls and slowly learning to walk, but whenever she stands she stands on her toes and tries to walk on toes, she doesn't walk on her feet properly. Should I worry about it? And what can I do about this problem?
Hai mam. My 6 month baby is not placing his two foot similarly on floor mam. He places his left foot well mam. But not placing his right foot flat in floor mam. Please help me mam.... Is it serious mam. Please reply mam.
Hi mam, my baby is 6 month old and i observed and measures that her one ankle is tinier than other ankle. My wife and me dont have any genetic problem. Please guide us, what to do ?
Hi Amit, based on your description of your child's foot, there should be little cause for worry unless she has other issues that have been identified such as club foot. Your daughter's bones are still growing and are likely to change over time. If this issue persists, you should consult a Podiatrist for a checkup to ensure that there are no abnormalities with your child's feet.
Hi IR, depending on the type of noise, it could be normal. As your child's body is still developing, the soft tendons interacting with hard bones can make clicking noises, particularly in the spine, shoulders, or lower legs. However, you should check with your child's pediatrician if the sound is coming from his hips as that may be a sign of a congenital hip dislocation.
Hi Yogita Verma, in-toeing in early childhood is a perfectly normal condition and can often correct itself. However, it can also be a sign of some other conditions such as metatarsus adductus or tibial torsion. If you notice any signs of these conditions, we would highly recommend you approach a healthcare professional such as an orthopaedic doctor or a podiatrist for more information. You can find out more about metatarsus adductus here at www.eastcoastpodiatry.sg/metatarsus-adductus/ I am afraid that we are unable to give you more information without examining your child. Thank you.

My 10 months old babe is not able to stand up and walk by himself should I worry? When i try to make him stand , his body his shaking it looks like there is no équilibre in his feets
Hi Mima, if your child is unable to walk independently at the age of 10 months, it is still within the normal range of development, so we would not be unduly worried. However, you should really start to look for a good podiatrist in your area just in case. If your baby is not improving over the new few months consider bringing him to the podiatrist to find out if there are any underlying issues.
My baby 13 month old. started walking from 10 months, recently I noticed when he walk his one leg bowed. But he walk perfectly even run no other issues. Should I get worried about it is there anything we can do ?
Hi Samima, some children experience bow leggedness before the age of two but you should see some correction over time. If it's just one leg, it could suggest some degree of femoral anterversion, which is when the femur is rotated inwards, causing the knee and toes to also curve inwards. We would recommend you approach a podiatrist or paediatrician for assistance and assessment, especially if the condition persists.
Hi My daughter is 21 months old and she walks like a duck She can run and walk fast and trips only sometimes when she looses her balance Is it normal, will it go away as she gets older or do I have to go to a pediatrician or something else I hope you'll reply.
Hi Dyan, it is normal for your child to tip-toe when she first begins to walk, however, if this continues to persist beyond 6 months after she has started walking or beyond three years of age, you should consider consulting a podiatrist.
Hi Shweta, we hope your baby is better. Is the redness accompanied by any swelling or warm feeling of the foot? If so, there could be a rash or some other issue and we would recommend that you speak to a doctor or podiatrist in your area.

Hi my baby is 10 .5 mnts and have duck feet plz tell me some exercises bcoz I m very worry about that?
Hi my baby is just 3 months and her leg is not going straight it look like bow leg and I'm worried about it .will it be fine
Hi Juali, it is very common for infants to have legs that curve inwards as their joints have not fully developed. The vast majority of such cases improve over time, however, we would advise that you monitor your child for such as they grow older. Meanwhile, we encourage you to look for a good podiatrist to bring your child to.
Hello madam.. My 2nd month baby right foot have slight swell compare to left leg foot..iam worried about it...may it was elephantiasis
Hi my baby girl is 13 months now and I noticed that she is walking with her left leg outside and the right leg is normal should I be worried?
Hi Pooja, do you mean that her left foot is pointing outwards while the right foot is pointing forwards? This is known as out-toeing or duck-walking. Since it's one-sided, it's unlikely to be hip dysplasia but could be an indication of external tibial torsion. If the out-toeing is accompanied by signs such as excessive tripping or poor balance, we would recommend you speak to a local podiatrist to address your concerns.
How is ur baby now
Hi,my 6 month old has bent legs and crossing her feet,is that normal?
Same here mommy, always bending legs, cannot stand firm even for seconds. How to cure?
Hi, my son is about 18 months now and his right foot stays flat, his toe stays curled in a lot of the time (looks like to compensate for lack of stability) when walking but his foot is pointed out. His toe doesn't seem to fire and lift as normal as the left and was wondering what types of exercises my wife and I can do with him to help fire the right toe to help walk more evenly. Can you please help? Thank you in advance and God bless. 🙏
My sister is 4 month old and her right feet look liked that it is swelled can you please help me🙂
Kashish, swelling of feet in infants can be due to many reasons including some that are non-medical such as insufficient water or remaining in one position for too long.

Hi my 7 month old daughter her left leg or her knee facing outside what should I do..please help me im worried
Hi Rene, out-toeing is a very common issue in children and you should not be excessively worried. It usually resolves itself over time but you can speak to a local podiatrist to ensure that your child is fine.

Hi madam!
my child is 15 months old.
Hi... My son one year and 2 mounth
His feet pesplanovalgus... Left one more the right... What shall i do
Hi daoud, pes planovalgus is a very common issue and you should not feel excessively worried.
@@EastCoastPodiatry Thanks
Hi my 2 year old does this thing with her feet where she rubs them together aggressively and I dont know why and it’s only at nights when we go to bed is when she starts it and then wants me to rub them as it soothes her but then goes back to crying and screaming I just don’t know what it could be
Hi there. 7 month old likes to cross ankles or rub feet together during meal and tummy time.
Now she is ok?
Hi..My baby is 10 month old and when he walks with support his legs goes like out toeing, duck style..he walks with walker with it..no pain there is no arch yet..will it be resolved or concernable?
Hi Shruti, out-toeing is incredibly common amongst young children below the age of two. However, many experts do not recommend the use of a walker as this can delay a child's development as well as increase the risk of injury.
If he continues to display out-toeing behaviour past the age of two, or if the degree of out-toeing becomes more severe, you should consider consulting a podiatrist. I hope this is helpful!
Why my baby's foot is swollen
Hi, my son is three months old and his feet are still upturned like a newborn and he just can’t make them flat even when I’m holding him in a standing position (he stands on tippy toes) is it normal?
Hi Grayc, tiptoe walking or balancing is not uncommon till the age of two. Your child may have been tiptoeing as they were still learning to develop muscular control. Since it's been some time, we would expect your child to be standing with support now. However, if the issue persists, please seek a paediatrician or podiatrist in your area to have your child looked at.
My 8 months baby's legs are not functioning he can sit or stand
Hi, my baby is 18 months old, when she started a normal walk she touches right full foot on the floor but left foot only half touch. what do we need to do?
Hi Luqman, it is not uncommon for some children to walk on their toes up to two years of age. If it persists, you should consult a podiatrist for a gait analysis and assessment and it may be a sign of other underlying issues.
Hii
My baby just born few days ago snd i feet her feets are bit inside

Hi my baby one year can't walk properly walk in his one feet..

My baby started 4 month .Hearing tik sound when i lift him and also during moving legs...what is reason..is it normal..
Can you answer my questions
Hello sir my baby girl is one year two month old one knee to foot is big and one knee to foot is small please help me sir
My baby is born on 23 sep having left foot everted kindly help on this
Hello my baby is three years old and still intoeing pblm. Plz suggest me what to do
Hi Yogita Verma,
in-toeing in early childhood is a perfectly normal condition and can often correct itself. However, it can also be a sign of some other conditions such as metatarsus adductus or tibial torsion. If you notice any signs of these conditions, we would highly recommend you approach a healthcare professional such as an orthopaedic doctor or a podiatrist for more information. You can find out more about metatarsus adductus here at www.eastcoastpodiatry.sg/metatarsus-adductus/
I am afraid that we are unable to give you more information without examining your child.

@@EastCoastPodiatry sure thank you so much and I will do so
My baby 13 month old. started walking from 10 months, recently I noticed when he walk his one leg bowed.

Hi my baby at 10months old keep doing tip toe when she start to walk is it normal?
Hi Dyan, it is normal for your child to tip-toe when she first begins to walk, however, if this continues to persist beyond 6 months after she has started walking or beyond three years of age, you should consider consulting a podiatrist.
Madm my baby is 7months but baby feet nt only redness crying baby any problm it is normle wt to do plz Tel me
