This is a textbook example of taking "overplaying" to the limit, while still honoring the music and not taking away from it.
The man is a machine, in all my years I've never seen anyone who's just that good. Even his hand pan covers are spot on.

I love EES, actually. He´s an insane drummer, the best that i know in fact. But your analisis of his cover is very interesting and i learn very much things that EES made in his covers. The Pretender is one of my favourites Foo Fighters songs, and this cover is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I´m in shock with his perfect tempo, consistence, clear and smooth sound. Congratulations by your react, like you said, he´s a metronome being human!! hahaha greetings from Spain!

My favorite covers of his are Take On Me, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, and Everybody Dance Now. Kind of like this one, I think those show he can play a bit more restrained but still be amazing.
Really enjoyed how you explained this. Don’t know if you noticed how on his right hand he has the stick between his index finger and middle finger when drumming on the bass drum. Would love to hear your thoughts on his cover of Godzilla; there’s so much going on total 🤯
I love watching El Estepario Siberiano and I enjoyed your analysis on this song. The only suggestion I would have is for you to give the featured content the large screen and you take the small one. It was hard to see the things you were pointing out. Other than that, kudos!

I've watched his Godzilla cover about 28 times now and it still amazes me... To the haters that think he's overplaying, your just jealous, I know I am! he's not overplaying, he's just adding the whip cream and the cherry on top and sometimes he'll toss some chocolate sprinkles with some Carmel and a Uzi 9mm to boot! just watch his free drumming lessons and practice practice practice. If you want something you have to go out and get it. El Estipario Sibiriano is a true artist and he's getting better (and faster) every day.

You’re referring to quarter notes. Think of it as a 4 note bar. Quarters are 4 notes per bar, 8ths are 8 notes per bar, and 16ths are 16 notes per bar.
So, from what I can tell, he’s playing 8ths on the high hat because he’s playing 8 notes per bar.
