You know one of the most thrilling things about El Estepario Siberiano? Somewhere out there is some 10-13 year old being inspired by him who will evolve his speed and technique to even crazier levels. Where will drumming be in 20 years?

That’s SUCH an excellent point!! Holy Mary of all that is SACRED…. I’m here stuck thinking that he will be the best there ever will be… until you put into my mind that a young child will be inspired from his epicness and become something even greater… I CAN’T even imagine what that would be like 😆

IMO the best reaction videos are ones from people who have a great understanding of what the person is doing and can explain the difficulties and nuances of what we’re seeing.
Otherwise it’s just people saying “wooah… oh that’s cool… ooo he just hit that one shiny copper plate thing super fast with 2 of those sticks!”

It’s so satisfying to see your reaction and observations mirror my own… I also think about the breadth of his control when scratching the snares, knowing just how easy it is to put a stick through the thin head if you hit it too hard. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Your reactions are very similar to how I react when I'm watching Paul Gilbert or Steve Vai or any other number of guitar players that have taken it to a level that should not be possible.
That thing that he does on the steel drum doing toxicity, that's got to be fake. I've never heard that instrument sound that way before. I've caught myself watching his videos and looking for signs that what I'm really seeing is an extremely advanced computer program that Looks so real that the idea that it's not doesn't even enter your mind.
I would love to see Geddy and Alex do a reaction to this guy's drumming.

Well, I'm self taught and never learned the proper terms myself. My entire career as a session drummer consisted of absorbing everything I saw and learning to imitate and implement it in my own style. So, imitating the sounds is the best way I can describe it. 😁

i still say practice will only get you so far yes it will make you a good drummer or musician and with enough it will make you very very good but to reach a level like his take's something that cannot be taught or practiced, just like Tina S and her guitar covers yes other people do the same but they are just not there.. if you know what i mean..

Hi, liked your review and do have one minor comment, for this video it is too late but your mic volume is correct but the music is too low. I'm trying to listen to all the things you caught, like the snare on the floor and then your voice comes on blasting my neighbors. Still enjoyed the video and my neighbors say hi...

The guy is like a precision drum machine. His ability is inhuman. He's always saying "Just practice!" Which is sound advice, but the same amount of hours of practice a day wont yield the same result for every person. That's just reality. That being said, his style of playing tends to favor showing off his ability, which is understandable, but some times comes at the cost of the song he's covering. May as well just forgo the song and play. Though in fairness, I haven't seen him with a band.
