yundi's chopin Scherzo performance is amazing. I think I've never seen a pianist who plays Chopin Scherzo so beautifully since Rubinstein. His trio performance is really the best in the world. It's beautiful beyond description.

If he would only reduce the amount of facial and body gestures, and if he would reduce the speed in certain mid section passages which seems he is under pressure to want to run fast, this would be perfect. I think he has improved and matured since this, he probably corrected these things especially the facial and body movements.
wdym, the facial and body movements are only a sign that he is enjoying the music well. Also he is way worse at the piano now. A couple years ago, he was messing up in his songs and he made mistakes in this Scherzo as well. He also missed 2 days in the Chopin Comp in 2015. Sign, we wish we had this Yundi instead of the one we have now
If I could play one song perfectly on the piano, this would be it. I play several instruments, piano just isn't one of them. One day I'm just going to lock myself in a room for a couple months and emerge playing this. Maybe...He's very talented, his timing is near perfect, I wish he was a little stronger on the left hand in some parts, and what's he doing with that hand by the way when it looks like he's playing a tiny violin? Knock it off with the faces and the gestures, it's distracting and annoying. Other than that, outstanding

Such a perfect performance, romantic, sensitive and beautiful, definitely my favorite version. Yundi is a genius.
This is the definitive interpretation for me. All other musical ideas sound wrong in comparison (completely subjective)
