Sometimes I don't think it is what Chopin intended but some other times I find it the hidden words of Chopin's, which is extremely beautiful and can only be translated by him. I don't get bored of listening his playing because of this new discovery and uniqueness.
Always LOVE Katsaris' work (if you can call it that, it looks like FUN to him). If ever there was a master of Chopin, this man is IT. This is Chopin far and above anything Rubinstein ever did........

He might as well be called "voicing expert" for the reasons you listed; Katsaris is one of the first concert pianists whose playing opened me up to search for these hidden lines, increasing the level of dynamism in my playing. He is similar to Cortot in this regard, leading me to wonder whether there is a connection between the two.
Interesting, I wondered how all the master pianists play the last bar of the piece. After hearing Zimerman, Argerich, Kissin, and few recent Chopin competition attendees He is the first one who doesn't cheat... Unless there is a cut near the end, and he tried it few times...
Aue zabivan in my opinion your links Video has a terrible recording quality. Almost hurts to see the piano size in this room not fitting at all the cheap fake digital concerthall reverb used. The dynamics Mixing is also unbelievably uneven. Sounds terrible to me. I don’t like to criticize other players really. I was just commenting about the cruelness of Chopin writing such a risky ending, wich is almost doomed to fail, after such demanding piece. But I’ll write what I liked and prefere to the playing of most virtuosos like Katsaris here. To me it’s a much more logical understandable tempos mr. Barton chooses... as about faking the ending , listen again, it’s different (but very common version) in your link. Here Katsaris plays what’s written.

心地良い軽さ。自由さで言うと、ショパンっぽいのかな。ちょっと型破りなのに、心地良い。それでいて、テクニックは半端ない。大好き。

速いし個性強いですね。表情豊かで見てて楽しい。爪もこんなに伸びてて良く自在に弾けるものだ。

おっしゃるとおり、空虚を見事に表現されていますよね。そして、素人ながら、見えるものではない空虚を表現するのは役者でも難しいと思うのです。
つまり、彼をはじめとする演奏家というのは役者という枠を超えたまさに表現者なのですね。

Completely agree! Katsaris has Cortot's musicality and Cziffra's technique. He's one of the most complete pianists I've come across

思い立って、隙間時間に練習してみて４ヶ月、、そりゃ当たり前ですが…この速さでスムーズに弾くことはできませんが、脳内で勝手にカツァリス様の演奏が再生されているのも手伝ってか、なんとなく上達している気がします。気がするだけなので自己満足で、とてもじゃないけどまだまだですが。引き続き練習頑張ってみます♪

この人アレンジが強すぎて、好き嫌いの分かれるピアニストだけど、技術は間違いなく世界で5本の指に入る
2回目は内声部を際立たせる手法、クセがある演奏で純正な音楽を楽しみたい方は少し敬遠するかも。ワルツ嬰ハ短調ほどでもないが、このスケルツォも相当なものである。
