#7 Grenades will also bounce off of players, too. This can be hilarious, or it can just kill your entire squad. Sometimes both, but don't try this at home, yeah?
#8 Because of the Travel time, more often than not you and your currently engaged opponent will both die to each other at the same time.
#10 Learning the paths that Vehicles also like to take can also net you some AV Mine kills, too, usually more often than roads. Learn where Sundies like to park and put some mines there in anticipation.
#22 NC Only Addon: The Phoenix Rocket Launcher will OHKO The Engineer's MANA Turrets. If the turret is manned, it will also kill the Engineer. Not Spitfire Auto Turrets, though.
#24 It can be a good idea to relocate between reloads.
#25 requires a pretty beefy CPU to do anyway, and in the larger battles it's rarely seen if any.
After 2 years:
#13 No longer applicable, Implants are free to use forever now.
2:18 Tipp "10 and a half": Don't place your Tank Mines too far off each other to avoid enemy vehicles surviving driving through some.

put a brick of C4 on tank mines to add even more area denial, killed a fully loaded sundy once doing this.
+Robert Jones To make for more bang you can drop multiple tank mines, multiple bricks of C4 and even the anti infantry mine (whatever, bouncing Betty or claymore or whatever) for even MORE bang for the buck plus switching between explosive types does NOT make the already deployed ones go away. :) So a tank mine and an antipersonnel mine do a pretty good number on whatever trips it, plus add a brick of C4 to your cluster of anti tank mines as well as bouncing Betties or whatever to ensure that mine guard Sundi doesn't just drive away. Remember when it comes to explosives the more the merrier.

+Robert Jones is it as much fun as hacking an enemy spitfire turret? or better yet a whole bunch of them if deployed like that.. one emp grenade and some fast thinking for hacking and cloaking and you can turn the room into a friendly fire mrat grinder for the opposing faction. you need to not cap it though till you get them all hacked. It looks like the turrets are doing the job till you have them all hacked.

I have to say, the one new weapon I have purchased so far has been the Railjack, and I honestly don't regret it. It can annihilate infantry at range, even better than the default NC sniper
26. Hug walls and terrain for cover
27. When flying an ESF, use arrow keys to maximise the turning circle
28. When sniping closer ranges, after firing quickly move the mouse across the screen the "curve" the bullet
29. Don't always aim down sights
30. When in close quarters, use the quick melee to finish off an enemy
31. As heavy, anticipate when you will take damage and turn on shield before
32. Add CAMIKAZE78 as a friend, immediately become 20% better at the game

One thing I would add about the ammo box, if you get it to max rank you can drop down two of them, meaning you can spread the love (and the xp gain) around a bit more. All you have to do is wait for the hidden cooldown of the ammo box to finish and drop the second one wherever you please.

to add on for advice, I tried ghost in the shell, where bursting is mandatory at almost every range, it's a good game to help get people into the habit.
I often use proxy radars on my lightning, helps a lot while farming infantry and know when to bail and shoot the c4 fairies before they toast your vehicles.

This is game doesn't get the credit it deserves I think on consoles. For F2P its badass. Well designed and the arcade feel and weapons are nice.
#26 (or 22a if you like) when you are using the engi turret, while not fireing, turn slightly to the left or right a few degrees. now that wide open hole in the shield is a needle to thread, making it more difficult to snipe you.
Remember: swapping to your pistol is always faster than reloading

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but Biolabs now provide a base version of the health regen implant in faction owned territory. Makes regen implant slightly less efficient as they only work in enemy territory.
Dude you should give safe fall a try if you haven't already, even the level 2 tier of it allows you to fall several storeys without taking damage and you will be able to fall crazier heights with the NMG. It's great for taking shortcuts and getting the drop on people, next to hold breath and regeneration, the best implant in the game.

Though I'm gonna have to disagree about the 50%+ enemy pop part. Assuming you're in a decent squad, you should be able to push out of spawn until around 60-70%, potentially even saving the base.
My team defended subterranean nanite analysis as a group of 20 people against over 100 so it really depends on the base and the team.
+A Giraffe In a Necktie and total pop in the hex, in 1-12 fights 60% means nothing, in a 96+ fight 60% is usually insurmountable
+Pineapple Farmer I would also be disappointed about the same point if he didn't follow it up with "flank them with vehicle from other base or prepare on the next base"
Normally a decently put sundy or 2 does a good job against a zerg if you're a solo player :P

Thanks for the tips Joshino! Let me add some more.
1. You can access terminals behind walls if they are close to the wall.
2. Spot everything using the Q key! The more people you spot, the more awareness your faction has. You can even spot through walls and mountains sometimes!
3. If you are in a vehicle, beware of roads! If you can, don't use a road because enemies like to tank mine there. Always keep an eye on where you're going so you don't run into tank mines.
4. If you mainly play infantry and rarely use vehicles, deploy a sundy somewhere meaningful! Your allies will love you for giving them more options for attack or defense, and they give you xp for every spawn and frequently give ribbons. Be aware they despawn in 20 or 25 minutes if you leave it alone.
5. If you have an invisible sundy (max rank stealth armor) set your sundy to "locked" or "squad only" using the page-down key. Noobs WILL shoot enemies that are searching for your sundy. If you are a noob in a stealth sundy, DO NOT shoot the guns if enemies are looking for it. Only AFTER they find it.

Tip 18 and any kind of infiltrating/stealth/camping kill tactics don't work on Briggs. Kill one or two players and you'll be hunted down by ten people. Very rarely does that kind of tactic work

Be an engineer, and equip your sunderer with proximity repair and 1 basilisk 2x zoom and 1 Ranger 2x zoom.
If you can place your sunderer in a spot where most people spawn there, and where its easily visible to your allies, you can fairly easily earn 100 certs in a day.
plus with a ranger and a 20mil, you can handle both aircraft and groundcraft with relative ease. especially good against the TR. cause we all know mosquitoes are to the tr what batteries are to my brother Vanu.

Yeah matey, All of these are good tip and if you are a pleb follow them and reap the rewards. Also (for most) turn down your mouse sensitivity, crank the FOV and DISABLE mouse acceleration
if you're vs buy the flare for the heavy as soon as possible. it's pretty great
Find big fights, Grab stalker infiltrator. Wait for them to cluster. 2 mines 5-10 kills every time. Or sometimes many more on spawns and capture points before chucking your 3 frags grenades straight down at your feet while running by killing more. I get mad certs doing this.
For the 15 and the 25, you have forgot to precise that for doing wall climbing, you need 60 FPS or more

I'd say the biggest barrier to getting comfortable with the game is that your HUD is absolutely lousy with floating markers and symbols, and they are mostly too damned small to see what they are in the heat of battle.
Okay so I bought a weapon but I have a solid reason behind it, I enjoy the concept of an infiltrator but can’t snipe so I bought the jackal tr smg to change my playstyle alongside a black hand revolver for longer ranges.

IF you are a newer player. AVOID BIOLABS. It's is a lot of chaos with spawn farming going on about 90% of the time. You might be able to get some okay exp playing medic and engi there but you'll have a much better time at any other hex, I promise.

I'm not sure why you're telling people to avoid over-popped bases. One of my fondest memories from Woodman was us defending the old Quartz Ridge from two platoons of GODS with just a squad.

The ONLY new weapon you should consider getting is maybe an SMG, as it unlocks a new way to use the Infiltrator.

Hello. I need a solution to a problem i have. I have played PS2 before on this system (a laptop) before like a year and a half ago and i'm 100% sure the problem is with the game or maybe the gpu drivers. I installed the game 2 days ago (1/22/2018 and at the same time i updated the drivers to the latest version as of 1/24/2018 which is 390.65) and when i run the launcher or the desktop shortcut (PlaneSide 2) the launcher goes black and sometimes is switching to white. I confirm that the launcher is working because i can minimize and/or close it completely but for some reason its all white or black and i cannot see anything. I have a dedicated nvidia gpu and the intergraded graphics that the cpu comes with. I tried to snoop around the Nvidia control panel to maybe fix the issue but with no success. HOWEVER when i try to run the launcher with the intergrated graphics, i can see the launcher and stuff but i want to play the game with my Nvidia gpu and not the intergrated graphics. i am no tech savvy and i welcome any help to fix this issue.

My experiences in ps2:
1st: Bad PC, bad FPS, sucked at aim.
2nd: Decent PC, normal FPS, couldn't hit shit ... sorry- I could ONLY hit shit- because it's not moving constantly.
3rd: Good PC, good FPS, quite a few hits, a few kills... get 2 shot killed every time.
4th: **has to install game 4th time**

Mostly its from the person who has the jump on someone or has better aim.
+john gotts Shoot at heads. Have partial cover. Have the initiative. Place your crosshair where heads will appear. Don't shoot more than 4 bullets in a row, with a split second between these bursts. Height advantage helps. Make sure to engage on your terms. Don't push with half health, let the shields regenerate first and pop a medkit if necessary.
Also: Disable mouse acceleration. Lower your sensitivity (at least 20cm of mouse movement for a full 360 in hipfire).
+john gotts Speed and aggression. the way the net code works in this game if you run around a corner first you will have a millisecond advantage, sometimes its all it takes.
Getting one headshot is worth getting 2 body shots (with guns that have a 2x headshot multiplier) so as long as your not missing more than half your shots by aiming for the head it's more effective than trying to get a lot of hits on the body.
+john gotts know at which distance your weapon is likely to be better, and try to force the engagement into that distance, aka adjust you playstyle to the weapon you're using. This is one of the reasons why close range weapons are often preferred, as it is pretty easy to avoid long/mid range battles in comparison to close range ones. That said, even with longer range weapons its usually possible to dominate in close range as long as you get those consistent headshots

+Mark Darwin I know right how many times have you been finally doing well in a match and then bam your disconnected, or even worse you are about to win the match, a match that you were a big part of winning and then you get disconnected.
Helps to get a cable to connect directly.

Farming the noobs is easy but what you can recommend in fight with br 120+ thrice general megaskilled pro gamer with completely complete load of weapons, abilities, equipment and vehicles? And of course he use orbital strike 1 time per minute.

I have seen a few videos with the stat session tracker thing in the top right corner (you have it before your intro) what is that and how do I get one? Also I see a lot of those achievement things that pop up in the middle of the screen that say "double kill" and such is that for the ps4? I've been playing for a while and both are new too me please halp.
It's called recursion stat tracker search it up and download. It's only for the PC version.

How come climbing walls only works if you have 60+ fps?
something to do with the games engine, the easier a wall is the less frames you need to jump it though (60 frames is needed for the most difficult ones)
But how do I spray effectively? The recoil is hellish on a lot of NC weapons.
You mean TR weapons, the default for the light assault trooper is a pain to keep in one place...that's why I can't 1v1 correctly

I was there the day they released the first beta by giving away the torrent link on IRC, played it until I was burned out. Sadly they "fucked up" hard on the PR and dev cycle.

The only way to beat the VS turret is to kill it from behind. The other two can be put out of action from a direct assault from the front.
HP McDoogle Well the thing is, in my case, I've never really been killed by an AI turret, they're so rarely placed well. Just go light assault and don't be dumb and be where your teammates are, simple as that.

+White Wolf May I ask how long you have been playing, both Planetside 2 and first person shooters in general? Don't worry whatever it is for both, just play the objective, be a team player, and try and think objectively as well as outside the box. Like imagine where you would send your character if you were directing yourself and you had to make the most impact on winning the match for your team.
I know you may already know all this but it is what I try to do when I play an fps and I find it has helped me a great deal. Also one fps it took me about a month to get even junior level good and even when I was in my prime there were still days that were just awful, so take heart and know that you can become better it just takes the will to never give up. Also most importantly try to have fun, otherwise there is no point in playing a game, then it becomes work.

Thermal optics for infantry was excellent they destroy it..

And so many other excellent things the game has they destroy everything..
And that happened to that game for the toxic community he has , the toxic outfits they don't wan to die , they pay money to the game and if you find a way to kill them they report you and ask from the game to change the way you play..
