One thing I’ll say about A7 is that, even though they are suppose to only spawn on terminals, they do have a tendency to spawn on the ground. Specifically one spot on Hossin. So don’t be surprised if you find a A7 Quarter on the ground (and that quater only giving you 15 A7)
I've been playing for a month after 3 - 4 years break/vacuum and now I really enjoyed with the new things added, buildings rework and many new contents (At first, I was confused with the new currency though). This game is not too complex, it's just not well explained, and I wonder how I could have done better to introduce my friends to it :(. This I think, is the biggest reason holding this game back from greater population growth. To be honest, I wouldn't have known to look for it had I not watched a video that someone posted on the Planetside 2 Reddit page a while ago. I've only found one so far and I got something like 37 A7 from it. It wasn't a lot but every little helps when you're only a few months into your tour of duty on Auraxis. Just a quick bit of advice for anyone who finishes an alert and doesn't get their A7, certs and ISO-4. This happened to me last night and I think it may have happened because I died about 10 seconds before the end of the alert. For some reason, instead of waiting for my reward (not much point in respawning for 10 seconds) I decided to get a head start on the next continent and redeployed. After the loading screen, I had no info in my chat about my rewards and I didn't get those rewards either. I logged out later to go put my 11 month old son back in his bed for the 500th time (slight exaggeration there) and when I logged back in, all my rewards were sitting there waiting for me. So if you don't get your various currencies maybe just wait a little bit, try logging off and back on. They do appear eventually. Good to know, thanks! I'm relatively new to the game, joined at the beginning of the quarantine and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon. I think a great "First X Hours" episode in the series would be "Using Force Multipliers". One of the biggest issues I see with new players is their reluctance to pull vehicles other than flashes and sunderers. There seems to be a reluctance to pull MBTs and Lightnings - especially when the enemy has vehicles around the base. A quick run-down on when (breaking a siege) and where (pulling from the previous base) might go a long way to getting me some help out there in the field with my lone NSO Lightning. Thanks for the great content!

I remember the old days of a different currency for vehicles, air craft, etc - imagine that still on today on top of all the other currencies! great vid as always cyrious
Just a note on the outfit currency; your outfit needs a minimum score of 1000 collectively to get a resource cut on capture. This is based on your scoreboard results where certain actions no longer count (for instance ammo resupplying since outfits would reload farm to capture bases in low pop). If your in a small outfit and can't get the purple nodes or blue nodes reliably then the expeditions allow you to convert one to another after some time. This allows outfits on the outside smaller fights still able to fund their bastions and other tools. Granted I think giving orbital strikes in War Assets was a mistake. It feels like a cheap trump card as an OS comes in that you couldn't have known or prevented. At least a base would give a secondary objective to try and break its link. This should be replaced with something of smaller scale like a surgical strike to break up sundies or armor or a delay needs to be added to recently OSed locations to prevent spam.
Very good advice on the iso 4 recycler pack. It's already rather rare to get iso 4, you have focus what you get on upgrading your implants. With certs, you are earning them all the time.
I recommend crafting the implants you want for your main class and then not worrying about implants until much later in the game once you've fully loaded out you main class. Once you've maxed out a few classes and have nothing else you really want to cert out then begin the implant grind.
here's a tip! the nanite boosters that you can buy with merits can nab you extra certs from the end of alert reward, so pop two in the last 30 minutes and enjoy the BONUS bonus check! also DO NOT get the Aux spitfire, Wrel or one of the devs said they're seriously considering getting rid of AUX SPITFIRES, you could get them and enjoy them while they last but the merits may or may not be refunded. and last but not least, ifridine is what i consider the best usage of A7 as infravision gets rid of the messy props that are just distraction for the eye, you have to sacrifice your healing kit/C4 slot though...
A small addition I caught regarding merit: There must be at least around 25% enemies (not sure what the exact number is) during capture in order to earn merit upon the capture of the base. So just avoid zerging/ghost-capping and you will always get merit!
I'd say infradine is probably the most useful A7 item because it has utility, while the other A7 items are just guns that are generally worse than certed guns. Also burlap camo for style.
it's impressive to note how they made a game where premium currency doesn't make you OP (aka a pay to win game), in theroy there are some advances that speed up the farming experience but they made the perfect compromise
Love your videos, keep it going Also a tip for everyone: Buy the Nanite Boosts for merit, use them, so they are active at the END of an alert. This will double your cert reward for the alert. If you win the alert, you'll get 250 certs, +250 certs due to the nanite boost. So 750 merit equal 250 Certs
@@MinaKittenGaming no it is NANITE boost! Another member of my outfit told me about it and it does work. You get 500 Certs if you use the nanite boost at the end of the alert, instead of the normal 250 (if you took part in the whole alert) Go try it
I recommend the first implants most people go for are survivalist because it's so universally useful in all infantry situations, and sweeper HUD, because i've seen too many of my allies drive over a cluster of AT mines I was frantically trying to spot for them.
I feel like they could make daybreak cash able to be acquired difficultly in game because then people would probably feel more willing to buy it. Some people that I know definitely fit on that list
Its amazing, how last year i thought this game was nearing the end, and now seeing how far they've managed to pull it out of a downward spiral! Genuinely one of my most favorite games, so happy its booming again :D
I love the black market and hopefully when new rounds of stuff start popping up I'm hoping that warframe players will start thinking of it as the Baro Ki'teer of planetside 2.
While upgrading implants, the ISO 4 required increase exponentially each rank. It's best to rank up one or two implants at a time due to their high consumption (especially assimilate).
Now, this is may just be me, but Nanites to me are nothing but a very convenient way to get Cordium, which is infinitely better. You want to drive a large number of tanks, ESF’s or whatever other vehicle without having to wait for your Nanites to recharge? Either go to a base that has it readily available, or make a base yourself. All you need is an Ant, a good location, a ton of Cordium and some fisherman’s patience. Then, by using the light vehicle spawner, you can use all the accumulated Cordium in your base to give you a near unlimited supply of fresh vehicles. And if you spend a thousand credits for the light aircraft bay…. You can have a near unlimited supply of ESF’s to practice flying. Also, farming Cordium and depositing it gives you a good amount of experience and certs, so even the process of doing it is good. An Elysium spawner at a base equipped with vehicle bays and fairly close to the front will get you even more experience, as tankers and pilots will want a good alternative to Nanites that doesn’t mean they have to wait for their Nanites to recharge, and so they can get back into the fight faster. Overall, bases are extremely important for their supportive abilities for your empire, and I hadn’t even talked about all the other things bases with certs put into them can do to support your side and to wreck havoc onto the enemy. Overall, Cordium is the better, cooler cousin of Nanites, and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Im new to the game and your vids helped me a lot to get used to the game, i quite enjoy it now, im really rusty in my aim, i havent played a FPS since Battlefield 3, but im starting to get some headshots kills, and survive more in fights, but the grind is real, i need a lot of Certs just for the Sunderer build i want and i have mi heavy/medic really neglected haha, all the certs go to the sunderer, thanks for the help, and i hope to win some DB to tune that sundy.
Imagine during in December the sanctuary would be in snowy mountains kind but the view on the outside would be all white in background, freezing, and snow particles!
Good vid man, thanks for posting. Wish they'd add more things to buy with A7...just finshed buying all the attachments for the tranquility, maxed again and nothing more to buy.
Think it's important to emphasise that A7 nodes can spawn in weird places. I've seen two floating out on roads before, one I found in/around the barrel of the interplanetary gun in a tech plant. I think they may have the same spawning hiccups as Cortium
Back when you had to manage air, infantry and vehicule ressources it was much more complicated I feel :) I remember switching continents in order to get more ressource tics!

Thank you for making these videos for new and returning players. I try to get people to play this game and when they are unsure of something i simply just show them your channel, people like you really help keep this game going and keep the community strong! o7
I'm so glad that they have another way to get cosmetics without premium currency. Those auraxium cosmetics were absurdly tough to get.
Your videos have saved so much time explaining systems to my beginner friends. Thank you so much.
It's been a long time cince I've played PS2. It had changed a lot since then. Your videos really help me know the game better. Thanks!
Finally someone is breaking down the currencies one by one. Thank you.
Really enjoying getting back into Planetside 2 after i took a big break from the game a few years ago! i've got to say i didn't know whether this game would make it but i'm really glad it did
Your videos ( Both guides and discussions ) have been an essential part in me understanding, and enjoying this video game when i started a couple weeks ago, thank you.
Great to hear Icy.
Returning player watched a lot of your news videos in the past but never sub but now i am! I just want to appreciate the time you take to make these videos and put every detail and tips!
For new players definitely the best way to grind certs is to play on a continent with alert on it, whenever possible. Great video man.
I can't wait to see what is to come, thank you for the vids Cyrious and a shooting mechanics video would help players at any level.
I remember the old days of a different currency for vehicles, air craft, etc - imagine that still on today on top of all the other currencies! great vid as always cyrious
Vs player here, made a tr character a month ago and was able to see you out in the field. Made my day. Hoping to get the 1k db cash
I'm a returning player and I gotta say, a lot has changed. Great video, thanks for explaining it!
A small addition I caught regarding merit:
There must be at least around 25% enemies (not sure what the exact number is) during capture in order to earn merit upon the capture of the base.
So just avoid zerging/ghost-capping and you will always get merit!
been watching your videos for a bit, and now i got way better at the game, thanks man
I'd say infradine is probably the most useful A7 item because it has utility, while the other A7 items are just guns that are generally worse than certed guns.
Also burlap camo for style.
happy to see you keep producing helpfull content for newer and returning players
Love from the UK man. Keep it up.
it's impressive to note how they made a game where premium currency doesn't make you OP (aka a pay to win game), in theroy there are some advances that speed up the farming experience but they made the perfect compromise
Splendid presentation Cyrious, I'm really lovin' this surviving your hours series for the game.
I haven't played this since launch so thank you for going over all these changes.
Wow, I was just searching some currency guides and didn't find any. Commander Cyrious to rescue and delivers a good guide as always 👍
Love your videos, keep it going
Also a tip for everyone:
Buy the Nanite Boosts for merit, use them, so they are active at the END of an alert. This will double your cert reward for the alert. If you win the alert, you'll get 250 certs, +250 certs due to the nanite boost. So 750 merit equal 250 Certs
I think you meant XP boost, not nanite? ^^
@@MinaKittenGaming no it is NANITE boost! Another member of my outfit told me about it and it does work. You get 500 Certs if you use the nanite boost at the end of the alert, instead of the normal 250 (if you took part in the whole alert)
Go try it
Exactly the kind of guide people need right now - all these currencies can get confusing!
I recommend the first implants most people go for are survivalist because it's so universally useful in all infantry situations, and sweeper HUD, because i've seen too many of my allies drive over a cluster of AT mines I was frantically trying to spot for them.
>Commander uploads at ten past midnight
>ah shit here, I go watching a tutorial I don't need
Really comprehensive video btw o7
Haha thanks man!
Thanks Cyrious, I just came back to the game and was wondering what the heck those things were. Kudos on another well presented video
I took a long break from PS2 but came back because your videos popped back into my recommended :)
Helping the community like always, keep up the good work!
I love watching your videos because I’m always learning something new, keep up
I feel like they could make daybreak cash able to be acquired difficultly in game because then people would probably feel more willing to buy it. Some people that I know definitely fit on that list
Its amazing, how last year i thought this game was nearing the end, and now seeing how far they've managed to pull it out of a downward spiral! Genuinely one of my most favorite games, so happy its booming again :D
Awesome job man. I have been totally lost with the new currency and the bastion stuff. Keep it up.
I love the black market and hopefully when new rounds of stuff start popping up I'm hoping that warframe players will start thinking of it as the Baro Ki'teer of planetside 2.
Has The New War started yet? Took a break after The Sacrifice came out.
Returning player because of your videos, so glad i returned, i have lots of fun playing the game and thats partly because of you. Thx Cyrious!!!
Thank you for posting this video. It was really interesting and some of them didn't knew you can buy those items you mentioned in the video. Thanks
Love this channel just got back into planetside recently and its been a huge help
I'm just getting back into the game! Huge Improvements over when I last played! Awesome Video!
Jesus I needed this
Half a year of a playing and I still don't know what I'm doing
Thanks for the video, been playing for almost 6 years but this last update had me confused😂 great as always
Thanks for this Cyrious. I had no idea what the new ones were about.
Yeah the bloat has gotten a bit confusing.
While upgrading implants, the ISO 4 required increase exponentially each rank. It's best to rank up one or two implants at a time due to their high consumption (especially assimilate).
4:18 Damn that transition :D
I unlocked everything available for the A7. Hopefully the Devs put more items to purchase.
Thanks for the great content!
its really nice to see all these content on this game, i really hope it helps the game to survive many more years
Now, this is may just be me, but Nanites to me are nothing but a very convenient way to get Cordium, which is infinitely better.
Overall, Cordium is the better, cooler cousin of Nanites, and you can’t convince me otherwise.
just started again after not playing for 5 years, thanks for the detailed information commander!
Good stuff. I knew nothing about the Escalation currencies until now.
Thank you for the Explanation, Commander Cyrious. I needed a breakdown for the new stuff :D
Coming back to this game after a few years, it helps a lot !
Perfect follow up to the other three starter videos. Thanks!
Imagine during in December the sanctuary would be in snowy mountains kind but the view on the outside would be all white in background, freezing, and snow particles!
Also like in underground vault
I never imagined that the Eve Online music would combine with PlanetSide 2 so perfectly.
Thanks for explaining this. It was fairly confusing coming back to the game and seeing all the available currencies
Wonderful video as always, you've been a real help ever since I've decided to come back to the game!
RANSACK 5 IS AN AWESOME IMPLANT. Seriously, try it for piloting and driving with stealth. It comes in clutch in the moments youve already given up.
This Guy makes it really easy coming back to the game i loved years ago :D
Great informational video Cyrious!
Nice video Cyrious, keep up the good work !
So useful, thanks Cyrious! This is super useful as a video that I will reference for sure!
I shared this video with a beginner planetman, and it helped him a lot.
I've been playing this game for 500 hours and I've still learned stuff :P
Ah yes, the fun chaos of a light assault carrying around a spitfire in his back pocket. I love it.
Can’t believe planet side is actually coming back in popularity :)
Back when you had to manage air, infantry and vehicule ressources it was much more complicated I feel :)
I remember switching continents in order to get more ressource tics!
Keep it up Commander... The game is awesome with your guidance
Great video as usual. Keep up the good work
Always!
