    TL:DW Summary
    *Certs* -almost everything you'll ever need to get the good functional stuff in the game. Earned by being useful and stop ignoring dead friendlies when ur a medic.
    *A7* -space bitcoin to splash in your favourite Auraxian black market. Earned by doing alerts and decrypting weird fairy dust in the middle of nowhere.
    *Nanites* -haha C4 go boom and tank goes pew pew. The planetside's equivalent of Centrelink welfare, earned by just being alive.
    *Merits* -your bonus check for being a productive member of society (or in this case, your outfit) to spend on spicy tactical items. Earned by taking/defending bases as a member of any outfit.
    *ISO-4* -wtf is this (upgrade or craft implants). Earned by winning alerts and breaking down dupes
    *Daybreak Coin* -metallic pink camo or gtfo my spandex party.

      @Juan When traveling through bases and the map, there is a chance that there are blue orbs on electrical consoles, the blue computers you see everywhere. You can decrypt these, and then collect them again which get you A7. A nice bonus on the side, however it is better to attend alerts if grinding for A7.

    When it comes to ISO-4 I get the feeling that it's a touchy subject.
    While personally I heavily dislike the lootbox grind and straight up numerical advantages in power, (Yes implants add a lot of gameplay variety, but they are one of the few example of a veteran/whale advantage) they are also one of the few montitisation sources in the game.

    One thing I’ll say about A7 is that, even though they are suppose to only spawn on terminals, they do have a tendency to spawn on the ground. Specifically one spot on Hossin. So don’t be surprised if you find a A7 Quarter on the ground (and that quater only giving you 15 A7)

I hope that this game is keep on improving content, for most important is the game performance (this game is old for the age of it) and raising the player count. Few notes, that a proper tutorial is needed because not a lot of people can understand this game quickly people likely get lost. Overall it is good to see this game improving and people still enjoyed it. Have a good time fellow Auraxian.

      Every friend I've invited to play, I tried both the "lets just play and have fun approach", and a "I'll explain as little as possible but give you the tools to have fun on your own" approach. Neither worked, everyone is always overwhelmed, everyone reports the game is too complex and overwhelming. This game is not too complex, it's just not well explained, and I wonder how I could have done better to introduce my friends to it :(. This I think, is the biggest reason holding this game back from greater population growth. They aren't doing many new players a favor... and instead rely on veterans getting lucky hooking that one new friend on it.

    • @Kurfuzt
      @Kurfuzt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LastAphelion yeah you're right, when I return to play PS2, I try to ask my friend who play with me in the early days and they like "Alright let's give it a try" and some of them still enjoyed it. But when I ask my other friend who is new to PS2 and don't know anything about it, he says "I don't what to do, I just spawn directly into a battle and don't know what to do beside from shooting.... I'm confused..... Enemy is everywhere..... I died repeatedly..... I don't like it" . So in conclusion the game lacks proper tutorial to explain how the game works beside shooting and cert gain. I always recommend to watch guides in youtube to new players *shoutout to cami and cmd cyrious* but new players including my other friend seems uninterested to play since they we're directly spawn in to battle that they don't even understand. So yeah it's a problem that held back the pop growth

    When I started playing a few months ago, I was really tempted to spend some certs on one of those deluxe implant packs just to get me started. I think you mentioned in a previous video that it was better to craft them and spend certs on your classes at first. So thanks for that advice, I've actually got some implants through the novice directives now so I may well have received a bunch of duplicates if I'd been less patient and not received your advice.
    I had no idea there were caps on the amount of each currency. Really useful info that I've obviously missed somehow. Not that I'm anywhere near reaching any of those caps lol. I will be one day though. I'm still at the stage of buying all the composite armours/helmets from the merit store. Now my medic has a cooler helmet and doesn't look like the default noob medic :)
    The ASP skills! Again, I had no idea those existed. For some reason I had assumed the system was for subs only but you can unlock it with certs which is really good to know. Something really cool to look forward to once I eventually reach the higher levels.
    The A7 terminals... I actually found one of those! To be honest, I wouldn't have known to look for it had I not watched a video that someone posted on the Planetside 2 Reddit page a while ago. I've only found one so far and I got something like 37 A7 from it. It wasn't a lot but every little helps when you're only a few months into your tour of duty on Auraxis.
    Just a quick bit of advice for anyone who finishes an alert and doesn't get their A7, certs and ISO-4. This happened to me last night and I think it may have happened because I died about 10 seconds before the end of the alert. For some reason, instead of waiting for my reward (not much point in respawning for 10 seconds) I decided to get a head start on the next continent and redeployed. After the loading screen, I had no info in my chat about my rewards and I didn't get those rewards either. I logged out later to go put my 11 month old son back in his bed for the 500th time (slight exaggeration there) and when I logged back in, all my rewards were sitting there waiting for me. So if you don't get your various currencies maybe just wait a little bit, try logging off and back on. They do appear eventually. I don't know if this is a known bug or if it's at all common but it has happened to me once.
    And finally, Cyrious I know you're TR at heart but I main NC. Nothing has made me happier during this whole pandemic than logging onto my laptop and seeing your stream where you played NC! The shirt and cowboy hat were a very nice touch that really put a smile on my face. Btw you need to get to BR35 before you can pick the Commando title. I think you were like BR28 or so by the end of the stream so you're not too far away... a little motivation to play some NC there ;) I noticed when you logged in that you have an NC character on Cobalt, the server I play on. Do you ever play on Cobalt or was that just something you did for covering the outfit wars?
    o7

    Good to know, thanks!
    I'm relatively new to the game, joined at the beginning of the quarantine and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon.
    Something that I've struggled a littlebit to understand, is the strategic map layout of different outpost types, grand strategy aswell as the combat-spawning system that comes with it.
    I joined a large outfit a while back, and whilst I can often times hear the platoon leader thinking outloud on what strategy to use, where to redeploy etc, its always beyond my understanding as to why.
    Something else thats quite confusing is the spawning system in the game. After a month of playing, I've only just understood why, sometimes, I can't seem to spawn when all my platoon teamates just deployed into an area. That led to some frustrating moments !
    Anyways, thank you for the quality of your content.
    I've not been here long, but I can already tell why your voice is one that is appreciated in the community.

    I think a great "First X Hours" episode in the series would be "Using Force Multipliers". One of the biggest issues I see with new players is their reluctance to pull vehicles other than flashes and sunderers. There seems to be a reluctance to pull MBTs and Lightnings - especially when the enemy has vehicles around the base. A quick run-down on when (breaking a siege) and where (pulling from the previous base) might go a long way to getting me some help out there in the field with my lone NSO Lightning. Thanks for the great content!

    Just a note on the outfit currency; your outfit needs a minimum score of 1000 collectively to get a resource cut on capture. This is based on your scoreboard results where certain actions no longer count (for instance ammo resupplying since outfits would reload farm to capture bases in low pop). If your in a small outfit and can't get the purple nodes or blue nodes reliably then the expeditions allow you to convert one to another after some time. This allows outfits on the outside smaller fights still able to fund their bastions and other tools.
    Granted I think giving orbital strikes in War Assets was a mistake. It feels like a cheap trump card as an OS comes in that you couldn't have known or prevented. At least a base would give a secondary objective to try and break its link. This should be replaced with something of smaller scale like a surgical strike to break up sundies or armor or a delay needs to be added to recently OSed locations to prevent spam.

    Very good advice on the iso 4 recycler pack. It's already rather rare to get iso 4, you have focus what you get on upgrading your implants. With certs, you are earning them all the time.

  • @__leftistVegan
    @__leftistVegan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I recommend crafting the implants you want for your main class and then not worrying about implants until much later in the game once you've fully loaded out you main class.
    Once you've maxed out a few classes and have nothing else you really want to cert out then begin the implant grind.

    here's a tip! the nanite boosters that you can buy with merits can nab you extra certs from the end of alert reward, so pop two in the last 30 minutes and enjoy the BONUS bonus check!
    also DO NOT get the Aux spitfire, Wrel or one of the devs said they're seriously considering getting rid of AUX SPITFIRES, you could get them and enjoy them while they last but the merits may or may not be refunded.
    and last but not least, ifridine is what i consider the best usage of A7 as infravision gets rid of the messy props that are just distraction for the eye, you have to sacrifice your healing kit/C4 slot though...

  • @totallyheroiconion3588
    @totallyheroiconion3588 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    A small addition I caught regarding merit:
    There must be at least around 25% enemies (not sure what the exact number is) during capture in order to earn merit upon the capture of the base.
    So just avoid zerging/ghost-capping and you will always get merit!

    I feel like they could make daybreak cash able to be acquired difficultly in game because then people would probably feel more willing to buy it. Some people that I know definitely fit on that list

    While upgrading implants, the ISO 4 required increase exponentially each rank. It's best to rank up one or two implants at a time due to their high consumption (especially assimilate).

    Now, this is may just be me, but Nanites to me are nothing but a very convenient way to get Cordium, which is infinitely better. You want to drive a large number of tanks, ESF’s or whatever other vehicle without having to wait for your Nanites to recharge? Either go to a base that has it readily available, or make a base yourself. All you need is an Ant, a good location, a ton of Cordium and some fisherman’s patience.
    Then, by using the light vehicle spawner, you can use all the accumulated Cordium in your base to give you a near unlimited supply of fresh vehicles. And if you spend a thousand credits for the light aircraft bay…. You can have a near unlimited supply of ESF’s to practice flying. Also, farming Cordium and depositing it gives you a good amount of experience and certs, so even the process of doing it is good. An Elysium spawner at a base equipped with vehicle bays and fairly close to the front will get you even more experience, as tankers and pilots will want a good alternative to Nanites that doesn’t mean they have to wait for their Nanites to recharge, and so they can get back into the fight faster. Overall, bases are extremely important for their supportive abilities for your empire, and I hadn’t even talked about all the other things bases with certs put into them can do to support your side and to wreck havoc onto the enemy.
    Overall, Cordium is the better, cooler cousin of Nanites, and you can’t convince me otherwise.

    Im new to the game and your vids helped me a lot to get used to the game, i quite enjoy it now, im really rusty in my aim, i havent played a FPS since Battlefield 3, but im starting to get some headshots kills, and survive more in fights, but the grind is real, i need a lot of Certs just for the Sunderer build i want and i have mi heavy/medic really neglected haha, all the certs go to the sunderer, thanks for the help, and i hope to win some DB to tune that sundy.

    Think it's important to emphasise that A7 nodes can spawn in weird places. I've seen two floating out on roads before, one I found in/around the barrel of the interplanetary gun in a tech plant.
    I think they may have the same spawning hiccups as Cortium
