Tip : when starting out your first battle ranks, use an account to experiment with what you like. Once you have reached battle rank 15 or know what you want to do, start a new account and invest all your certs into that aspect. You will in turn gain more certs and have more fun. ( i say new account because refund doesnt give back all the certs you used).
Need some tips for next time Josh ? Here's a couple :D -If you know you are going to die, as if you're holding a point and explosives starts turning it into hell, throw your revive grenade while attacking the ennemy. Indeed by doing this you make them think they are still ennemies in the room able to stop them, buying you some precious time while the grenade actually detonate. Furthermore, backing up and letting the ennemy invade the point before everyone is up and ready is the best way for them to be dead right after a revive, giving them a killing blow to the morale. -This one is true for engineers and medic alike, if you have a downed/damaged friendly MAX near you you can revive/repair him through nearby obstacle like crate or a whole wall if you started in the open and moved behind the obstacle while still in range of the revive/repair. It is also possible to heal allies the same way though it is not very helpful if others need it more. Doing so will make you virtually invincible while your target is getting the much needed help.
Comment on Tip 1: You can hit U to start redeploying *as you are loading* - this means as soon as you start loading, your countdown timer can begin and you're ready to deploy to the next base immediately. Tip 16: Allow your Sunderer to deploy (or at least show the Deploy option) in a safe area before heading towards danger! This way you don't lose your Sundy because that single second of time was enough for an enemy to spot your vehicle before it cloaks, etc.
Batman vs. Bane Ah, it felt super natural for me. Guns are really just dependent on the nature of the person, some are more comfortable with holding LMB and getting effortless killstreaks as TR with heavy assault, some prefer clear, concise headshots like infiltrators. Some just run up at you and knife you like it's call of duty, but they still somehow get 10+ killstreaks from it.
The last tip really gives me hope now, because I've been getting way to worked up about dying constantly. I've improved a lot in the past couple of days and it's finally paying off. Also taking breaks between 2-4 hour sessions is a godsend.
About the Instant Action getting you to another continent, there si an easy solution. On the settings you have to uncheck "Hide Warpgate to another continent notification" (Its called something like that :P) So if you click to spawn to another continent intentionally or unintentionally a small window will appear asking you if you really want to swap continents.
Quick Tip: Ammo boxes are cover. If you are behind something, you can shoot over, you may be able to throw an ammo box on top! Ammo boxes have a certain amount of HP, however, they do help, and the even can absorb shots as long as they are there (once destroyed, it takes a little bit for the ammo box to de-spawn). Though this tactic works best with about a squad, or more preferably. If they all have max level ammo box (lets you throw down 2 like mentioned in this video), you can provide cover for yourself anywhere in this case. : ^)
As an engineer, I have two slightly unorthodox uses for the AI-turrets, one of which has lost some of its effectiveness over the years, but both of which has saved my life countless of time while defending the point all alone. The first being location; you can deploy one simply to gain a leverage on hostiles by hopping up to hard to reach places where they won't expect you upon their first scan of the room. The second one is to deploy a turret in a place where the barrel is partially visible, say, pointing through a door way slightly at an angle, with you hiding out in the opposite direction. At first glance the infantry will obviously assume that someone is manning it and even if this only diverts their attention for a split second, you do have a considerable advantage. This method used to be way more potent back in the day when you would see your turrets health displayed the same way as a vehicle, so you could even deploy it as a probe to cover your flank as it will let you know whenever it gets damaged. Both of these tactics relies on quite a bit of clutching, though, since most players won't fall for it twice and some experienced players might not fall for it at all.
Not sure if already mentioned but, if you find yourself redeploying a lot you can hit the redeploy key and start the countdown while you are still in the loading screen. This can cut down a lot on the waiting and frustration of trying to get somewhere using redeploy mechanics.
Tip - if a weapon has an advanced laser or advanced grip then that weapon is probably designed for close or long ranges respectively. The same is true if the weapon only has one or the other (non-advanced variant).
Another pro tip for Engineers: a max rank repair tool can be used to defuse enemy Anti-Tank mines. Doings so can not only save a friendly sunderer that's been mined, but it also gives more xp than destroying them. Just be careful, as some friendlies will shoot the mine as you are defusing it, blowing it up in your face.
i believe you when you spot someone only the people within a hundred meters or so see him as spotted. This could be helpful for new players to know. I could be wrong about this though
A few tips from an old TR: Lay traps whenever you can. Shenanigans such as cleverly placed claymores, tank mines, and autoturrets can pay off big, and since the only cost to do so is some rapidly resupplied resources, it's better to expend them than not. They also serve as excellent early-warning systems. Do not be afraid to experiment. Some people may advocate focusing entirely on one class, and while that has merit, flexibility can be an excellent asset to yourself, your squad, and your faction. Practice with vehicles and classes wherever the opportunity presents itself. At times, blending in can mean using less camo, not more. While you may want to look shiny, a default planetman is often taken less seriously than someone dressed to the nines. The same goes for vehicles. Talk to people! Whether it's in /region chat or proximity voice chat, if you see something you think is important (Like an enemy vehicle or a Cortium node), tell the people around you. And on that note, turn on the grid on your map! Grid references can massively help allies track down what you call out, since Q-Spotting doesn't always reach the people who need that highlighting, such as anti-vehicle ESFs or tank drivers. This is particularly relevant since the construction update has made massive, cross-hex engagements much more commonplace.
IMO, the most important classes are LA, Medic and Infiltrator since they all have very unique combat roles. LA, mow down an unsuspecting squad. Medic, raise your fallen and keep the fight alive. Infiltrator, hack that much needed terminal and bring havoc via the cloak....
545hawk Amen to that. Though we can't disregard the usefulness of a well-placed Heavy Assault rocket, or the beauty of not having to worry about ammunition as an Engineer swoops in to keep you topped off. Though the classes really shine when working as a team. Alone, they're all good, but when everyone knows what they're doing and are actually talking to one another... Synergy is victory.
16: if your a skilled Driver, an bored Asf, dont Forget to drive into builings...and roadkill enemys....and prepare for hate-messages. 17: if youre part of Vs, dont be afraid, usin "unfair" tactics. Vs isnt the dps-strength, nore the hp-strength, if you have a magrider, dont behave like those other tanks, try to reach certain-unreachable Points, and farm those spawnrooms.same goes for the scythe. your the best hovering-machine ingame, so fly indoors, and farm annoyed enemys.there is no "unfair" here, youre just using your faction-specific abilitys, like the other fctions do.18. if you pull of a max inside a biolab, to stop the-enemy-zerg, go the other direction, take the narrow outside way, run half around the biolab, and get the drop on enemys from behind, thats far more effective than frontal confrontation.19: watch out for stealth sundys. 20: Change your playstyle atleast every 5 hours, Change your faction atleast every 50 hours. this will prevent Burnout. 21: beeing skilled, or having a good kd isnt the recipe of fun for this game, find your own Thing, I for example, enjoy doing Stunts with vehicles, or just Chat with the enemy, this will also prevent Burnout. 22: I recommend, just buying somth ingame once. Buy a camo, and somekind of other cosmetics for the Thing, you are enjoying the most. Keep in mind: for a normal game in that state of Quality, you have to pay. 23: Never. Never buy a non-ns weapon with Station-cash aka db-cash. both of them are needed for cosmetics, youll have enough certs later on. but those cant be invested into cosmetics. 24 dont be ashamed to stay in the Vr-training as Long as you want, test everything out! especially if youre goin to buy smth over the value of 200 Certs. I met multiple times, guys who were frustraded asf, because they bought the wrong Thing.25: dont be ashamed of your language, nationality, age or gender. There is much tolerance for in the ps2 community. just, maybe turn of the teamspeak if you arent blessed with an adult or pre-adult voice. A high-pitch-child voice can be quite un-immersive and lorebreaking. (sry for my grammar, this was written buy screenkeyboard because my Keyboard isnt working at the Moment.
In reference to 11, if you see a 2 man harasser squad and you're an engineer, hop in the back and repair for them as long as you have a reasonably upgraded torch. It'll allow them to be much more effective and aggressive which can turn the tide of a small battle, and all the extra damage they're taking = certs.
Tip: When using any tool/consumable in battle, sprint, jump, and then deploy your tool/consumable. By doing this you keep your sprint speed, which makes you more maneuverable , therefore less likely to take a bullet in the head.
I am a infiltrator and a pretty dam good one. I drove a cloaked flash in the middle of a big group of enemies the second I jump out I stalker cloaked and my flash uncloaked. So every enemy that spotted the flash ran down the hill chasing after the flash, and I got quite a few tips before heroically dying.
Maybe checking vehicle spawns for tank mines could be a useful one. And not standing on them when vehicles are spawning. The driftor jetpack+c4 combo could be mentioned aswell.....I don't know if that would help all the fellow tankers but still... :P And you could talk about when to go for headshots and when bodyshots will just be easier and faster. I've just come back to ps and really enjoy your vids. I'd really love to see some tips making it to a video. Keep up the good work :).
Do you think will this game will ever become popular again? Like actually having to queue and do you know what are peak populations of players on the PS4?
+BRoDINGoSoN123 I think the construction update will tell us whether it will be popular-ish again. If it falls flat I'm not sure Daybreak will want to invest too much into the game. Warframe shows us a relaunch can be succesful and I think this is the closest we will get for a while.
Tip: Medkits are actually invincikits, if you're about to die, run to cover while spamming them. (Medkit corp. is not responsible for extremely painful skin inflammation caused by the salty tears of your greedy enemies)
Protip: Redeploy and Instant action buttons still work during loading screens, so if you have a low end PC like me, then it can make your spawn hopping easier!
Another one for new players: If you find doing killing directives with ESFs, Lightnings etc, just go to VR training. They still counts for objectives for new players.
as cqc infiltrator try to avoid face to face combat. flank the enemy as much as possible. one trick is to drop a betty, shoot them then run away. they will mostly follow you and explode. win win
+Joshino Thank you for these tips.. i will HOPEFULLY be joining Planetside 2 really soon.. but i need to ask are these good enough to not only run the game, but to record the game as well Intel® Core™ i5-6400 8GB of Ram NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 This is on a prebuilt Asus pc that i will be bringing over to my house in a matter of days. Could someone please explain "redeploy hopping" in more detail? I always thought that was a bug that never got any love. I only discovered in this video that this has a name and apparently a purpose. I'm wondering what the purpose is and more on how to take advantage of the feature. Thanks in advance. :)
when unsure if theres an enemy in the building you want to go in, wait for your mate to go first and you follow closely behind. if he gets killed you can kill the killer, win win
shoot at any esf you see with any gun, it will do some damage and might scare them off :) or even net you an kill if he panics and slams into that biolab or mountain
Anyone know when the Physx back? I want them because they looked so awesome before 2 years :-) it laggs but look amazing . Now i have the PC for it but... i want it back
They need to implement acceleration support for controllers in this game on pc. Otherwise the controller aiming is pretty much unusable. they released controller support on pc but hey let's not give them the other half of the support needed to make up for the large jolts around the stick deadzone.. Now i'm not talking about aim assist or gravitational pull towards the target, I'm talking about simply lowering the sensitivity when your crosshairs are on a target.
Tip #2 will also get many people to say 'Fuck. You.' Myself included. Don't do it. Not cool, yo. For #5, I wouldn't fire anyway, unless your galaxy is being fired upon anyway, same goes for if you're in a convoy of 2+ Galaxies, or just a gunner in anything for that matter. Don't draw attention to your vehicle, it can be a ticket to get you and your friend(s) killed quick. Here's one tip: Always Purchase the 1 Certification Turret Optics. A 25% Zoom in on a target can be the difference between hitting that Sunderer's exposed tailpipe or hitting the rock it's hiding behind. Your accuracy will spike, and anyone gunning your Basilisks will have a much better time. Speaking of which, don't let anyone tell you otherwise: the Baslisks are decent weapons, and good at all trades and all ranges.
I once almost killed a max as a infiltrator stabbing him and turning around him, he was trying to kill me but he couldn't reach me cuz i was turning around him, then a engineer came and killed me. And i did it again with another infiltrator and we killed him. I also killed one by sniping him from afar, he was running and trying to hide behind trees but ya know, it's a fuckin' max unit hiding behind a small tree. All of them were terran republic maxes.
tip 15 is easily the most important one of them all. Can't tell how many battles lost due to retards thinking kill/death is in anyway relevant in Planetside 2 and I take a look at their objective scores are it is pretty much near zero. Players that pride on kill/death being a snipe or something out in the middle of nowhere contributes nothing for the faction and should simply not even be allowed to play an objective based game

+Batman vs. Bane haha true.
tks xD
I did, and I loved it. Completely worth the money and it's a fun two hitter.
+Hunter Kenchov I did it too, but I couldn't use it at all then. I had played for about 30 hours only.
Batman vs. Bane Ah, it felt super natural for me. Guns are really just dependent on the nature of the person, some are more comfortable with holding LMB and getting effortless killstreaks as TR with heavy assault, some prefer clear, concise headshots like infiltrators.

Jack McClarran An organised squad is a happy squad.
quick tip, you can reenable the continent warp warning sign in the settings menu, so you don't accidentally switch continents with instant action.
Until now this is the best MMO ever made. Btw maps, weapons, airplanes, cars, etc are awesome.

Joshino I was wondering what camo you use on your decimator in the "construction system new meta" video cuz it looks awesome
In reference to 11, if you see a 2 man harasser squad and you're an engineer, hop in the back and repair for them as long as you have a reasonably upgraded torch. Another tip for redeploy hopping: You can press U to redeploy while in a loading screen. Except you are warping to another continent.
Pro tip: If you hold down the melee key, it will pull out you knife as so you can hold it. This will allow you to two hit knife someone fast.
Still love u Joshino..

Haha those were good days, well obviously I hated it back then but now I miss it
Tip:
Medkits are actually invincikits, if you're about to die, run to cover while spamming them.
(Medkit corp. is not responsible for extremely painful skin inflammation caused by the salty tears of your greedy enemies)
😂
its funny how a coctail of nanites saves your life
ghassen chaouch cocktail* and yeah. Nanites can achieve many things!
Tip: If an ally is getting revived and killed right after, try blocking the incoming shots when he/she tries to get back up again.
Protip: Redeploy and Instant action buttons still work during loading screens, so if you have a low end PC like me, then it can make your spawn hopping easier!

That Harrasser in the Beginning is having way too much fun :D
Top tip sit in the larger trees of Hossin and snipe people at vehicle terminals
How do you use the knife? I know, I am new.
***** Thanks!
never stop moving. standing still is certain death in this game. always be on the move no matter what.
Tip: steer clear of Zerg outfits, as they are usually team kill fests.
as cqc infiltrator try to avoid face to face combat. flank the enemy as much as possible. one trick is to drop a betty, shoot them then run away. they will mostly follow you and explode. win win
Will you ever do a tip video focused on flying?
i hope to but I'm not the best at the moment
What is the camo name that you used in the vanguard and the Lightning in the video?
+Arthurious 521 Shattered Cammo :)
+Joshino Thank you for these tips.. i will HOPEFULLY be joining Planetside 2 really soon.. but i need to ask are these good enough to not only run the game, but to record the game as well

0:59 HOW did the guy in the back not see you
sure it can make the kessel run in less than 12 parsecs, but can it take the Crown on indar with 6 men?
Do backstabs inta kill?
Question on first tank cannon upgrade : AP or HE or Jack-off-all-trade
Get AP and snipe from a distance.
Can you see stalker crouched and cloaked inflitrators? Ive been killed WAY too many times when in deep cloak without moving.
Quick Tip: Get 2000$ computer
you know if we're being completely honest, i wouldnt mind sitting through hours of video of ps2 :o
+=DG=Rarity I think I could watch a lot too :P
+Joshino Can you record a gameplay session? It really helps to see a veteran play :D
Joshino can you make a video about how to get your friends away from their current favorite game (Destiny) to play PlanetSide 2?
Show them your dank liberator ;)
shoot at any esf you see with any gun, it will do some damage and might scare them off :) or even net you an kill if he panics and slams into that biolab or mountain
I luv planetside2
any idea when the big construction system update is coming. i am not going to play ps2 till it comes
+Basheeruddin Sarwar Soon, hopefully within a week or two

My tip: Use a Harraser to clear a tight area by running them over.

+Joseph Bostaph Unfortunately not :(
+Joshino rip thanks tho
+Joshino believe it or not you are the first youtuber that has replied to one of my comments :D thanks so much
+Joseph Bostaph No worries :) Glad to have you here, hope I helped a little.
Tip: you can still chain commissioner knife kills you just need to get headshot with the commissioner (everyone probably knows this)
That last kill
They need to implement acceleration support for controllers in this game on pc. Otherwise the controller aiming is pretty much unusable. they released controller support on pc but hey let's not give them the other half of the support needed to make up for the large jolts around the stick deadzone.. Now i'm not talking about aim assist or gravitational pull towards the target, I'm talking about simply lowering the sensitivity when your crosshairs are on a target.
Why would you use controller on PC it is suicidal XD
My basketball size hands start to cramp badly with a keyboard.
Bear grylls on TECH
You spent 4 episodes to tell us that we're gonna die a lot.
Nc weapons are the best
On miller it has become the current meta just sitting as an infiltrator with an SMG and just wait around.
Good video... @TLNTalon
I don't understand 2 things, 1 why the arruracy of my weapond suck, and 2, why i die very Quickly while the enemies are immortal
Pay 2 win? if you dont play the game dont give people false info pleb.. pay 2 win
"disorientated" lol
Number 6 doesn't apply on Briggs...
+Captain Davian :(
+Joshino Only one continent open at a time, not like the old days. At least you can still get a good fight though.
+Captain Davian Yeah I only ever play on briggs, so I didn't actually know it was possible to have two unlocked!
Tf happened at 0:11? 🤣🤣
#terren republic 4 life
I think I dumped my tip in the #2 tips.
as medic revive other medics first
Pro Tip: Don't wear spandex, your balls will get tiny and you'll start to talk in a squeaky voice.

i have a .24 kd rn.
Number 9 is just a d*ck move and should be punishable. It ruins the fun and the game itself.
I got araxiom at rank 43
