Thanks a looot, I'm 17 and feel stupid and troubled for not being able to do anything, thanks to u my family loves my callaloo i made from them, i even add meat in it (sausage and bacon). I'm also from Jamaica, thanks very much.
You’re welcome dear! I’m glad to know that your family enjoyed the recipe. The mere fact that you were able to make the recipe and add your own little twist to it, tells me that whatsoever is it that you set your mind to you can do it Even if you get a little help, that’s ok. So don’t beat up yourself, once you have the mindset you can do wonders. Take care now and bless up.
Thanks for that Information, appreciate it. I honestly never looked at it that way. These vegetables are sprayed with all sorts of chemicals and I do my best as far as cleaning them.
@@David-ol6we based on Google dasheen/dasheen bush is what trinidadians call (or rather use to make) callaloo ..... the point is what we call callaloo is not what they call callaloo (as I'm sure other Caribbean countries have their other names or methods
Lovely Ley You can purchase this at your local supermarket. I’m based in Fl and I was able to purchase it at bravo supermarkets. If not possible to get the fresh callaloo, you can purchase the canned one at any local supermarket in the international section. It comes cook but you can add seasonings to it.
Not the Jamaicans... We grew up eating callaloo, even have it planted in the garden. Calllaloo can be done in so many ways. It's lovely with salt fish ( salted cod fish, etc). Callaloo is a regular staple in Jamaica.

Beautiful! Thank you
What seasonings did she use ?
Looks fantastic but Trinidad callalloo comes from the dasheen root. The leaves are much bigger.
If your callaloo comes from the dasheen root doesn't that make it dasheen and not callaloo? 🤔

I did this and it was delicious
Why is the skin from the stem removed?
It makes the callaloo easier to chew. If not it will be a bit stringy
@@AuthenticPlantbasedEats Thanks hun
Will be doing my callalloo
Thanks, Sis! Looks Irie :O)
You’re welcome and thank you!
Any a healthy, filling meal.
Look good girl, would eat some now thanks

Steaming just add oil n low fire? Break it down.
Don't u ever ever peel the callaloo bush that is the iron in the bush 💯
You have to take off that outer tough outer balk/stalk. Makes the callaloo more easily digested.
