I disagree.....I think all you have to do is look and model. no need for anatomy ...just look and put it where it goes. no offense but it's how I did mine. in fact the anatomy got in the way.
@@votephillips2564 well its ok if it works for you i guess but I think that anatomy is the base if you are making a portrait or a figure and then the emotion comes
Thank you, We put as much as we could think, as far as ideas and examples in this book in the hope to help sculptors to think of many different ways to reach their goals. I hope it helps
I have both portraiture books by M. Faraut, and they are extremely helpful. The videos here are good too, and add to the information in the books. Highly recommended to buy these if you are serious about sculpture!
Well done the artist, The facial expressions of your works reflect too much reality, it is a high level perfectionism, again well done, I am amazed by your creations. A little hello from France
It's a great experience satisfaction watching beautiful sculpture with detailing beautiful flow of hand moving around the sculpture. Very calm experience. Thank you very much for such a beautiful video
Absolutely amazing, he's able to inject so much character and personality into an otherwise lifeless figure. And he sculpts with confidence (he seems so certain and sure of every single gesture he makes)
Omg I just love to see people make art! I mean.. This is not something everyone can do right? You must have the patient to do it! I really like your art work man! I just cannot believe it! I'm amazed!!
I was lucky enough to get to work at a fine art foundry for 12 years and finish bronze bust just like that. This was very interesting to watch. Makes me want to try it.
Many people don't understand the value of creative people being creative on camera and in front of others. The majority of humans are NOT creative. Creative people bring life into a dull world. Find what you have a passion for. Do it to the best of your abilities and you will inspire more than yourself.
The sculptor showed admirable restraint in modeling the "Art Critic" by not fully reproducing the usual full sneer of distain that is normally on display. Extremely fine work and a wonderful variety of subjects. I'll be buying a copy of the book.
From the consistency and obvious water smoothing effect, I would say this is WED clay available at any pottery, sculpting or supply house. Great stuff for just about any venture into art. Thank you Disney.
i never scuplted in my life, except when i was little and id play around with playdo, but ur videos make me really want to pick up some clay and build something. i feel like this is something i can do and it will come naturally. i reeaallly want to learn how to sculpt like you
Thank you for this video! Some of the works were very beautifull. I always wanted to make sculptures, but never saw in action how one makes them. I wish to know what materials are those which have more of skin colours; their traits, and if one can blend them together with e.g. clay.
A forgiving type of clay is mid-range/hi fire porcelain stoneware. Not your typical porcelain. This type has a fine grog/sand mixed in and gives a great appearance in reduction gas firing. You'll have to find a porcelain stoneware that finishes more white than yellowish in an oxidation/electric fired product.
You gave me the inspiration to start working my arts again , 'though won't be as good as you did but it's from my both hands , and I love your works :)
I like the presumptuous expression of the art critic that try to understand (most of the times in a wrong way...) the moods of an artist :D Nice artwork ;)
ouahouuu ! Je suis subjugué... Ce n'est pas de l'art c'est encore mieux ! Vous travaillez sur de l'imaginaire, ou bien avez vous des modèles.. En tous les cas, vous etes un genie du modelage !
I really enjoy wathcing your videos. I love the expression you gave the art critic. One question tho, is it just plain water you're using to make evrything smooth at the end?
Hello Philippe. I have 0 clue about sculpture. Mind me asking is the wood stick and a newspaper is a must for the skeleton part of the the bust? Also what sort of tools would you personally recommend as a must to have for this art form? Thank you. My mind is blown...

Another proof that without a good knowledge of anatomy, no good portrait could be ever done. Thank you for this video!

Of all the beautiful pieces I've seen, this is my favorite. So much expression & humor. Fantastic.
that feeling when people make it look so easy
Easy as well as inviting to try one's own hand...

Fabulous Expression ...PRICELESS!
Wow what a splendid artist. A true master at sculpting.
The way hes "slapping" the clay on the critic's head is done beautifully...Seems to resemble a little hate, but done gracefully...
