Was this then hollowed out and fired or was it molded & cast in another material? Because I was always taught never to mix plaster and clay because it can lead to the clay exploding in the kiln.

In general terms, the portrait of a man is similar... But you didn’t do one very important detail in the portrait - you didn’t sculpt the hair in the man’s ears and nose! A very significant omission. You need to redo the whole portrait! 😉
