There appear to be attempts in certain guinea pig groups to control information, deleting what does not agree with personal beliefs and removing any posts not in line with what groups admin has decided is the one and only truth. Meaning, you don't even get to see opposing views!
Some of these groups have grown quite large. The manipulation and withholding of information is not a good thing. This is wrong in so many ways, free speech not allowed in fact.

We often get phone calls of guinea pigs in the "urban wild" that need our assistance. This guinea pig was likely abandoned and very close to our rescue so we were able to respond immediately and I was able to go myself!

I hope that family took that sweet little screamer home with them after she got all cleaned up at the rescue; I certainly would have! My Peanut figured out how to open their travel cage door. One time I set their travel cage down on the ground, about to load them, in their cage, into the back of my car, and that little rascal opened the cage door, jumped out, and went under my car. And meanwhile, I had a flight to go catch. I had a hell of a time fetching him out from under there. Pumpkin stayed in their cage, just watching, probably very amused at the havoc his son Peanut was causing me!
Hey for anyone who ever needs this trick: I give rescues a forever home, and last year I brought home two bonded boys. the carrier the woman provided would not fit into the back seat in one piece, so I took the top off briefly, put it in , then put the top over it, and went home. At the house I did the reverse, took the top off, put the bottom of the pen down, and went to the put the top back on.
BAD CALL
One of the two boys, Gatsby, jumped out and ran under one the cars on our driveway. I could not retrieve him as he would just go to the other side. Red-shouldered hawks waited patiently in the trees, watching. I was stuck. I dare not leave but was alone and the only way to keep him safe was keep him under the car.
After a short while a neighbor came out and I pressed them into service to guard the car. I returned from my garage with two 2x4s. I placed one front to back under the car just inside the wheels, and swept it slowly across to push Gatsby towards the passenger side. Alternately I moved the other 2x4, which was arranged from side to side under the car, forward a bit. By moving one board and then the other I closed him down in a small box just behind the left front tire where I was able to reach under and get him.
To date he is my only pig that ever escaped that way and hes happy and content right now with his buddy Zeus in their enclosure in the living room.
The board trick worked so I wanted to share it.
I am learning a ton from your channel, but at the same time realizing I need to take care of my piggies better, like the ear-cleaning. I will do a deep dive in the playlists.....

We also found a guinea pig on the streets. She was surrounded by cats and dogs. We later found out she was also blind. Rescued and kept her, now she's a part of our family. There's a video on our channel if you're interested but it's in Turkish. Still, you can see the piggy

Poor baby! I have 2 boys and I just love them! I have the western cage, they have a hay rack, wood chews, water, food pellets and a cup of veggies a day!! I make sure to keep there nails nice and I take them to the vet for check ups and there like my kids lol there 1 and 2 years old

That's exactly how I started my herd--my oldest Cadbury is a foundling. He was under a porch in mid April, still cold and pre bloom outside--he was too weak to put up a fuss, I just scooped him up from under my neighbor's porch. He had no fur from the midsection back, his nails were curled completely around....we guessed he was a discarded Easter gift. He's living his best life now as a happy, gentle 10yr old

I lost my pigs (both of them) a month back and now I want another pair, but my parents really don't want to get another pair, as I live in India and there is minimum knowledge about guineas in India and that breaks my heart..my guineas all of a sudden were not eating, not moving etc we took them to the nearest vet we knew about which does treat guineas that vet said they are ok and will be fine in a few days, but in just a hour later we came back from the vet they both got a cardiac arrest and in just about a difference of 10 mins both my precious piggies went to heaven....this of course breaks my heat as 1 st of all my piggies were not treated how they were supposed to and 2nd of all the vet! He said they will be ok and when this happened we called him and he said I was accepting that to happen with the black one(oreo) we asked him why he didn't tell us that, and he said we never discourage our customers, this was unacceptable as the truth is the truth! we could wait there all day long as long as he would want us to, but the truth is that he had minimum knowledge about Guinea pigs...I wish there were people like u in India who actually cared and knew about them...whatever it was my dad not being an expert could see that he is over dosing the pigs but he didn't say it, as he was worried like my other family members were.... I am a kid, 11 year old, I want to spread awareness about them in India, but people will not take me seriously as I am a kid... this is so super sad to say but my mother land India is not taking animals seriously...if anyone reading this who lives in India or is an Indian like me themself pls spread awareness 🙏..... and Saskia, u are so great, u and more youtubers like u motivate me to do something for my mother land and animals...
