When you said "Layne is just taking everything in stride, and Geoff is concerned about everything that's happening." I think you basically just described their entire personalities.
I always love when a reactor finds this one. It's so goofy yet sooooo good. - No way in a month of Sundays 🤣 but now I know what the song is called now as well. - Kudos to them for sliding the right way, but as is usually the case, Geoff is looking in the wrong direction. 😆 - I love that you noticed Geoff's concern at the steering controls being set down. - I always say this was our first introduction to rock god Eli, giving us that grit. You don't see it from him again for a while after this. I agree with you that in the past, he did not get a lot of front and center moments like this. - Yeah, VP is always a mult-time watch to catch all the shenanigans. - Oh my gosh, when I head bop along with VP I always do it the "opposite" way because I'm facing them so opposite is correct for me if I were sitting there with them. Does that make me crazy? 😂 - Gotta love Layne's beatboxing even more in this one because it's all live. No layering, no effects. - I mentioned in your analysis of Porch that I am an instrumentalist, so that discussion sits more naturally in my wheel house. Thank you for the explanation of the instruemtation of the original cantina band. That was very interesting to me. - This was from a time before Geoff had mastered subharmonics, and it's live, so you won't hear anything too crazy from him. - I do love that even back when this was recorded, the VoicePlay breakdown had already been established. Ya gotta have it. 😄 - Geoff: *Just gonna comb my fur* 🤣🤣 - Also watching you call this one the goofy video choice knowing what the next video is......😆 If you would like another Eli-front-and-center video that is one of my favorites....go to Kurt Hugo Schneider's channel and look for his collab with VP on Waving Through a Window. ❤ And while you're there you may as well check out their other collab, a Twenty One Pilots mashup. Both are excellent.
Very Merry Nerdmas to you too!! This is such a fun one! Another one you should check is their "A Crimpella" from back in 2012, it's real fun! Welcome back to the VP circle!!
Great reaction! I cracked the first time I heard this, and I still chuckle with each new viewing, because it is as you say, "joyful". It's happy, gets your feet tapping, and is just an all around hilarious good time! 😄
Merry Nerdmas! I had my Grogu Santa hat yesterday. We celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, and Yule in our family, so it really does tend to blend into a month-long nerdy binge.
Okay, confession time. I absolutely adore Voiceplay in every variation. They are so talented; just musical genius. So, when they go all goofball (their special brand of dumb), I wince just a little bit. Not because I don't enjoy it, but because I'm afraid someone will stumble across something like this as their first exposure. I worry (you'd think I was their mum) that even one person will say, Pfftt, nothing to see here. Okay, back to business, you could have done Voiceplay or Geoff's release this year for Christmas and had another silly Christmas song. Maybe for Boxing Day
I get the worry, but they also do this so well, and it is so musically good, that I still think they’d pull people in! :-) A fair bit to come this week, and even another one today… ;-)
In keeping with the Christmas decor, I love how red your face got while listening through the first time. I’m glad it wasn’t longer - you might have progressed to green. But Voiceplay can do that to you. One thing that always catches my eye was Layne’s hood. After Eli reaches out to him, it’s slipping off the rest of the song. Layne is that much more active in performing his part and he has to try to adjust a couple times. Merry Christmas!
Hahaha! Fair point! I realised I commented on his hair, but hadn’t really clocked that the hood had been pulled off. Thanks for pointing that out - have caught it now. Merry Christmas to you too.
This is just a crazy song for us Star Wars fans. Have you done Geoff's Blue Christmas? or VoicePlay's Jingle Bell Rock? You'll get to see Eli and Ashley's new baby (1 wk old), also Layne's wife Cyndi as crazy mom with the video camera, Adriana's got her mom and sister. Of course, sassy Cesar as well as Geoff and Kathy.
The Star Wars Holiday Special aired in 1978, and is one of those things that's notorious among the fans for being so off-the-wall unintentionally weird that it's hit classic status, There are various bootleg versions on TH-cam if you work up the courage to watch it (shh!)
This is the kind of song that, had i found it before I learned that Voiceplay did this, I would immediately connect it to their brand of dumb, lol. It's such a perfect fit for what they do, and they did an excellent job of it!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you also (though I might see you a little more this year - this is going to be my most active release week yet!).
Well having now heard the original, the answer they settle on is a brush. For my part, I feel like a bowcaster cleaning kit wouldn’t be a bad choice. Or a designer bandolier! ;-)
I don't know exactly why, but I keep wanting to rhyme and give him a 'cookie'. Might be a bit of the influence of all that fur between them and Cookie Monster?

When you paused for the "first proper bass note", did you catch what Earl was doing? 😂😂
And the wonderful fact that this is live❤
Haha! I had somehow missed that. Even just sitting performing straight to camera, there’s always so much to catch in a VP video!
Eight years ago in a galaxy far, far away; the VoicePlay is strong in this one.
Thank you for the goofy joy!

Oh, thanks for the tip! I haven’t come across that one yet - added to the list!
@@davidkreactswould be a great choice: it shows the concept in general = what VP is doing with every song they choose. 😂🎉😊

This wookie hood might be Geoff's future choice of hair style 😂

@@davidkreacts Also, the look Layne gives while being 'petted' by Eli! Like Oooo that feels 'nice'!

Without spoiling too much, there’s a few videos coming this week (one in a few minutes!).

Yeah, for some reason I never have. That might be my project for this week!
this was so fun ❤
I’m glad you enjoyed!

So happy you did this one!! This one is just too funny!! Merry Christmas and happy new year David!! Looking forward to your reactions coming in 2024!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you also (though I might see you a little more this year - this is going to be my most active release week yet!).
Asking your nerdy side, do you have any well thought out answers?
What do you give a wookie?

@@davidkreactsMerry Christmas
I was into a bandollier myself. True fact.
