It was when Double Fun came out. I got a Double Fun scarf and a backstage pass 2 months later left for me at the Warner Theater in DC ticket box. Blew my mind he remembered, had no idea if ticket would be there. Wet Willie opened up for them. I met Wet Willie years before that at a place called My Brother's Bar in Alabama. Just my opinion and I believe that he absorbed quite a bit of a Lowell George into his repertoire. Robert was no slouch and could hold his own with anybody musically that he was a song stylist and vocalist just like Rod Stewart. He was a mean musician as well he could play many instruments.

A major performance by one of the great vocalists of the 70's. He was one of a kind. What a great tribute to Allen Toussaint, the writer of Sneakin' Sally. R.Palmer covered at least one other song of his on the album Double Fun, which I played until I wore out the grooves. Bless him. He left us too soon. RIP.

I always wonder, if he were still with us, what Robert Pamler would think of the appreciation that his now nearly 40 year old songs have with people. I know that for some he kind of "sold out" with his more rocky, pop orientated songs. But for me, Robert was man of many flavours and I don't think he ever really gave up his blues roots. You can tell, from his interviews, that that's where his passion lay. Evident, I think, in some of his later stuff. His Marvin Gaye covers are a good example. I'm only 26, but I remember reading in a newspaper, I was on holiday with my father at the time, that he had died and telling my dad. I felt gutted, and so did he. I think Robert was one of those talents you only got once in generation. He's sadly missed, but I'm glad his back catalogue is there for everyone to enjoy. I know I do.

I lived in NOLA when this came out. Was a Meters fan mostly back then so when came on the local radio I snapped it up as soon as I could get to the store. Don't forget Allen Toussaint who called the shots on this! Still have the LP and I really appreciate you putting this on the tube. Sneaking Through The Alley With Sally was written by Allen Toussaint, by the way.

    I believe I was 12 when I first heard this song. I'm 62 this year. LoL 🤣

Bought this album when it first came out. Still sounds as good as the first time I played it.
