My best friend and I were looking for jobs in DC, one night just walking around....we saw a concert with Robert Palmer for $5 bucks....we were in, and Little Feat was his back up band....
For a long time, I didn’t realize the Meters was the band behind Palmer. When I found that out, it all became clear! Who else could give that funky beat that makes the song! I’m embarrassed because as someone from New Orleans, I should have recognized that a long time ago.
